Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: It’s All a Misunderstanding Chapter 1029: Chapter 1029: It’s All a Misunderstanding Joan Lentz stood still, her body swaying slightly, filled with deep regret. She hadn’t expected the fire to burn herself.

She had studied calligraphy for decades, completed her apprenticeship in childhood, gained so fa in adulthood, and gradually made a na for herself in the calligraphy world. People respected her wherever she went, and she had no negative news. She was known for her fairness and responsibility throughout the calligraphy community.

Now, due to her accusation of a teacher cheating, her many years of hard-earned reputation were destroyed overnight. She could not accept this!

At this mont, Joan Lentz hung her head low, her face pale, a trace of coldness flickering in her eyes. She said nothing still, as she couldn’t understand how an amateur contestant could have such superior skills. Moreover, she could see that Xaviera Evans had just written casually, revealing a lazy and effortless pen stroke. However, even so, the presented work was perfect, making it hard to imagine how amazing her writing would be if she took it seriously.

Joan Lentz’s heart felt blocked by a massive stone, as she had always thought herself to be talented. Only now, after seeing Xaviera Evans, she understood what a true genius is. Xaviera’s talent was innate, and at only twenty years old, she could achieve things others could not in their lifeti.

Rage filled her heart, and jealousy clouded her eyes.

Why should she apologize? She was a master in the calligraphy world. Why should she apologize to a twenty-year-old girl?

Joan Lentz glanced at Lance Steel whose face did not look good either. Determined, she said, “Principal Hayek, Miss Evans is indeed very talented, but her entry is clearly Mr. Steel’s work. How do you explain that? I just ca out to testify for the sake of justice. If she hadn’t taken Mr. Steel’s work to the competition, such misunderstanding wouldn’t have occurred.”

Principal Hayek’s face darkened as her words still implied that Xaviera Evans had cheated. Hence, she didn’t want to apologize.

Lance Steel’s gaze shifted between Xaviera Evans and the work on the screen. After a mont of silence, he still spoke arrogantly, “I have to say that Miss Evans is very talented. She must have learned from copying my works before, so our styles are very similar.”

The crowd suddenly understood; Xaviera Evans’ and Lance Steel’s similar styles were due to her copying his works before. There was nothing strange about it then.

Lance Steel’s eyes narrowed, “The work submitted by Miss Evans is a casual essay written by during practice. I don’t know where you got this from, but perhaps you thought that because our styles are similar, it wouldn’t be a problem if you took my work to the competition while still proving your innocence based on your actual skills.”

After speaking, Lance Steel gave Joan Lentz a look, and she suddenly understood. She said with confidence, “I admit that Miss Evans is very talented, but she cannot rely on her talent to appropriate Mr. Steel’s work for herself.”

“I was indeed a little emotional when I found out that Miss Evans had cheated and said so insulting words. But having skills doesn’t an you can escape the punishnt for cheating. Principal Hayek, are you going to cover up for Miss Evans?”

The room fell silent, and the audience couldn’t help but feel a bit confused.

If the work was written by Lance Steel, how did it end up in Xaviera Evans’ hands? She clearly had the skills, so why did she take Lance Steel’s work to the competition?

Lance Steel’s eyes were full of disdain. How dare Xaviera Evans resist after seeing his works? It should have been her honor.

At this mont, the person in charge, Mr. Connell, walked over to Lance Steel and whispered, “Mr. Steel, as you can see, Miss Evans is truly very talented. She has no reason to cheat. There must be so misunderstanding.”

Then, Mr. Connell turned to Xaviera Evans, “Miss Evans, are you sure that the work you submitted at the beginning was this one?”

Hearing Mr. Connell’s words, the students also reacted and began to explain, “I get it now! The entry submitted by Xaviera Evans wasn’t this one at all. It must have been a mistake, or soone set her up and switched her work with Mr. Lance Steel’s, creating this cheating scandal.”

“It’s obvious that Xaviera Evans didn’t need to cheat, she must have been wronged!”

Joan Lentz pondered, as this was the best explanation. Both her and Mr. Lance Steel’s reputations would not be affected, and Xaviera Evans would clear her grievances. As to how the mistake happened or who frad Xaviera Evans, that remained unknown, and over ti, no one would pay attention to it anymore.
