Helanie:
It was a heartfelt goodbye. I spent at least half an hour with all the mates before leaving with Norman, otherwise they would have been too anxious. Kaye and Maximus made promise to keep my health a priority. Emt told to call him every single day. It all ant a lot to .
And then there was Jessica. She was actually being very nice. Charlotte, I knew, was fake, so she was just waiting for to leave.
The journey was tiring. Since I was pregnant, I felt extrely weak. I guess they were right when they said I was carrying everyone’s child, because I could feel my body being drained of energy. And they were also right when they said I needed to eat more. Norman made sure I ate the food we had packed.
Finally, we reached the Vicious Bane pack. I don’t know, even after I got my revenge, even after the pack mbers apologized and I forgave them, it never felt like I could have peace whenever I returned here. But I didn’t say it out loud. I didn’t want to worry Norman, who was already so worried about .
"Welco ho," Dalton said with a huge smile on his lips, his royal beta smiling along as they welcod and Norman with a bouquet of flowers.
"Thank you," I said, accepting the bouquet, which Norman instantly took out of my hand. I guess he thought even if I breathed too loud, I would get sick.
"The pack mbers have been preparing for your arrival ever since they found out you were coming," Dalton said, hands tied behind his back, dressed in a white suit.
But Norman stood tall. I couldn’t help noticing him in a grey suit, looking around. I saw the pack mbers co out of their hos, gathering at the entrance of the border just to welco . So even ran alongside our car, throwing rose petals. It’s odd how people change once you’re in power.
Then there were the girls, the young ones who had just turned eighteen, and even so older ones, eyeing Norman. I guess it was because he was tall, attractive, and carried a strong aura.
"That’s just them being kind," I said, smiling at the pack mbers.
"So I heard you wanted to stay at your ho, although Rocky and I prepared a guest room for you in a luxurious hotel suite. It would be much better if you stayed there in this condition," Dalton said, pointing at my belly. I placed a hand on my stomach and smiled.
"Congratulations, by the way. You deserve all the happiness in the world," Dalton added, though I noticed a slight crack in his voice. We had a history, but I didn’t take it seriously anymore.
"Thank you. But for now, I want to go back ho," I said, watching him give a secret look.
"Are you sure?" he asked, and I nodded to assure him.
I guess that was all Norman would let speak with Dalton normally, because soon he wrapped his arm around , probably reminding Dalton that I was his wife now.
"Well, then I’ll let you rest, because tonight we have a huge celebration for your arrival and for the good news you shared with your pack," Dalton said. I only gave him reassurance with my eyes. Tonight’s event was special, we knew it because we had already discussed it. Norman knew as well.
So once we arrived at my ho, I was welcod with a grumpy face of my stepmother.
"Why do you keep coming back? Isn’t it too small of a house for you now?" my stepmother hissed, folding her arms across her chest. When she noticed Norman with , her mood soured even more. They never wanted . They never wanted to see happy. So of course it was a lot for her to see with a man who could take care of , better than they ever expected.
"She can always co here. It’s her ho," Sullivan said from behind. When he ca into view, I was caught off guard. His hair looked freshly cut, and he was more muscular, like he had been working out. I had heard he was working hard these days, even Dalton appreciated him. He had changed his ways. He wasn’t the sa ssy Sullivan I rembered.
"Hi, Sullivan. How are you?" I asked, watching him give a big smile. Even though he had promised to change, it still felt unsettling to talk with him. Maybe with ti, things would get better.
Vani ca out running, her arms wide apart, I noticed Norman’s eyes widen. He always got nervous when I acted too quickly. But Vani slowed down and gave a gentle hug, laughing at Norman. She loved teasing him. Every ti we were on a call, she acted differently with Emt. But with Norman, she teased him nonstop because she said his reactions were too funny. And I couldn’t bla her. I used to feel the sa way about him before I loved him, back when it was more of a love-hate thing.
"I’ve moved out of the room. You’ll be staying in the room with your husband, and I’ll take care of your needs," Vani said with a smile, her hands folded across her chest.
"Are you sure?" I asked, gently cupping her cheek. I had already told her why I was here, and I wanted to give her a heads-up, not catch her by surprise. The support she showed for my decision was everything I needed at that mont.
"I’m sure," she said, her voice serious.
"Vani is so stupid," Larissa muttered as she walked away, waving her hand to dismiss .
"Vani will be staying in my room. I’ll be sleeping in the lounge. I have no problem with that," Sullivan added, making Norman look at him with pride. He really had turned his life around, and I hoped he would keep getting better.
After that, Norman and I went to our room. Vani brought us the food she had cooked. We ate, and then it was ti to get ready for the big event.
The event would be my first step toward putting behind bars those who had wronged my mother and .
