Georgia’s POV

My laziness instantly evaporated, and my heart rate skyrocketed.

"Okay," I squeaked. "Getting ready. Yes. Absolutely. Right now."

Nick laughed as I quickly scrambled off the bed, face burning. "Thought so," he said, standing up behind .

By the ti we reached the new house, my sleepiness was gone, and it was replaced by a bubbly mix of excitent and nerves. The mont Nick opened the car door for , the scent of fresh paint, polished wood, and Prudence’s entire plant kingdom drifted out from inside.

Our new ho.

Benjamin was waiting at the doorway like a proud realtor, hands on his hips, chest puffed out. "Welco!" he announced.

Before I could respond, Prudence rushed past him with a watering can. "Don’t step on the new lilies! They’re sensitive!"

Nick and I exchanged a look. Our new ho or their new botanical garden? Hard to tell.

We stepped inside, barely two minutes before a car honked at the gate.

Oliver and Liam.

Oliver walked in relaxed, as always, hands in his pockets. Liam followed behind him... and the second he saw Ella, he straightened up like he had swallowed a ruler. Yes, I decided to watch him closely from now on.

"Congratulations, Georgia," Liam greeted, but I saw him glance at Ella’s car.

"Liam," I greeted back, equally stiff, equally polite.

His eyes darted around, probably looking for Ella.

Before any of us could walk back inside, Steven and Evelyn arrived, imdiately lightening the energy with their laughter and bags of pastries.

"Look at this beautiful ho!" Evelyn said before kissing my cheek. "Looks like your mom-in-law already took over the backyard, sweetie."

"I figured," I said with a laugh.

Just then, Ella and Vicky arrived, coming from upstairs. Wendy popped her head from the kitchen archway, together with Ella and Vicky. "You three, Ella, Vicky, and Evelyn, co with . Prudence and I need help setting up the patio table. And Benjamin needs soone to help him with grilling."

"Oh, I’ll help you," Ella said, heading quickly to the kitchen after glancing at Liam, who was already staring at her. Vicky followed with a wink at , while Evelyn clapped her hands, excited about the outdoor setup.

"I’ll help unpack," Steven said, rolling his sleeves up.

" too," Liam chid in quickly.

"Sa," Oliver added.

Nora peeked from behind a stack of boxes. "Oh, thank goodness. Please, take over. My bones are not ant for heavy lifting anymore."

The three n imdiately followed her upstairs, and I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding when they disappeared, which Nick noticed but kept quiet about it.

Then the interior designer arrived, coming from the west wing of the house, clipboard in hand, wearing confidence like perfu.

"Mr. and Mrs. Knight," she greeted, "are you ready for your final walkthrough?"

Nick placed a hand on my lower back, and I leaned into him instinctively.

"Yes," we answered in unison.

And so began our tour—room by room, space by space. She showed us the reading nook she built for beside the window, the custom shelves in Nick’s office, the nursery layout waiting for final touches, and the master bedroom that felt like a quiet sanctuary.

Every detail was so perfectly us.

I peeked through the master bedroom window, the late-morning light pouring softly over the backyard where Ella and the girls were arranging plates and food. Their laughter drifted faintly inside, warm and dostic—so painfully normal compared to the twist in my stomach.

Behind , Nick’s deep voice murmured sothing to the interior designer. A mont later, soft footsteps approached... then strong arms slid around my waist from behind, pulling back against the solid wall of his chest. His chin fit perfectly onto my shoulder as he followed my gaze outside.

"You look tense," he whispered, his breath warm against my neck. "Talk to . What’s wrong?"

With him, I never needed to hide. He was my safest place.

"Ella’s worried about Liam," I admitted quietly. "She thinks he might be seeing another woman."

Nick’s eyebrows knitted together instantly. "I doubt that," he muttered, voice low, firm. "Liam’s practically married to his work. Out of all of us siblings, he’s the one who has always been... steady."

"That’s what Vicky said." I sighed. "But people change, Nick. And I just... I don’t want her to end up hurt. She’s like a sister to ."

Nick tightened his arms around , his chest rising and falling slowly behind . "Do you want to look into it?" he asked softly. "Discreetly."

I turned my head slightly, eting his eyes. "You’d really do that? Even if he’s your brother?"

His expression hardened with unwavering conviction. "Especially because he’s my brother. If he’s doing sothing wrong, I won’t let him drag her along. He’d have to end one before starting another. I won’t tolerate any wrongdoing of my siblings."

Touched, I wrapped my arms around his neck, pressing a grateful kiss to his lips. "Thank you. Seriously. How do I even repay you?"

"Oh... Well..." he drawled, eyes flicking across the master bedroom like he was choosing items from a dessert nu. "There are many ways." His fingers brushed my waist, slow and wicked. "This is a new house. A new bed. New walls..." His smirk deepened, dark and delicious. "I want you to try every corner with ."

My jaw dropped. "Nicholas!"

"Yes, Mrs. Knight?" he replied, dark, evil smile.

I slid my hands up his chest, fingers hooking into his shirt buttons. "You know... everyone is busy." My tone dipped low, teasing, sultry, ready to ride along. "Think they’d notice if we disappear for a little... quick testing, maybe just one spot of our new house?"

His eyes darkened instantly, that hungry spark igniting at the speed of a wildfire. Before I could blink, he unraveled from my touch and sprinted to the door like a man possessed.

Click.

He locked it.

Then turned back to ... slowly... with the kind of look that made heat pool between my legs.

"Co here," he said, voice gravel and desire. "Tell more of your idea..."
