Nick’s POV

"We even have a prenup? Wow!" Georgia exclaid, her tone dripping with sarcasm. Her eyes narrowed like twin daggers. "Let see it. And it better be to my liking or else, Nicholas Knight—I swear, I will punch you right here, right now!"

Yeah, she said my full na. I was officially dood.

I jerked my chin toward Ollie. He fumbled in the front seat, pulled out the envelope, and passed it back like he was handling a live bomb.

Georgia snatched it from and began reading, her face as unreadable as stone. For a few blessed seconds, there was silence. Then—

"What the hell is this?!" she suddenly barked, making both Ollie and jump. "Are you out of your mind, Nicholas Knight?!"

There it was again. The full na attack. My death sentence.

"Why would you even write this?!" She waved the papers at like a weapon. "Giving all your money, your properties, and your shares in the company if we ever divorce? What will you have left? Air?!"

My jaw hit the floor. My hands flew up to my face. "You’ve got to be kidding ... You’re angry because I’m giving you too much?!"

Georgia glared like she wanted to strangle .

"Unbelievable..." I muttered, shaking my head at the ceiling.

Her eyes narrowed even more. "What?" she demanded, her voice sharp enough to cut glass.

"I just—I just can’t believe my wife is worried about leaving with nothing. That’s not the reaction I expected, babe!"

Before Georgia could fire back, Ollie raised both hands, shifting uncomfortably in his seat. "Uh... I think I should give you two so privacy—"

"NO!" Georgia and I roared in perfect unison, startling him so badly he nearly choked on his own spit.

Ollie froze like an owl with wide eyes. "...Ooo-kay then. I’ll just... stay right here."

Georgia’s glare returned to . My heart was pounding like I was on a battlefield, except the only weapon here was her tongue... and maybe her fists.

I turned back to Georgia, my chest tight. "So, you’re worried I’ll be left with nothing... does that an you actually want to divorce ?" The words ca out sharper than I intended, but damn, it stung.

Her eyes widened. "No! I did not say that!" she snapped, hands flying in exasperation. "What I’m saying is you’re so impulsive! You don’t think things through! Why would you do this when you worked so hard for everything you own?"

"Because I wanted to prove to you that I only did this to protect you and your precious company!" My voice rose before I could stop it. "But I guess this isn’t worth it to you!"

Georgia’s jaw dropped, fury sparking in her eyes. "Excuse ?! I did not say that! My point is, you could’ve just told instead of forging my signature and making a prenup behind my back! You know that I would I agree to it!"

"I did this for you, can’t you see that?!" I yelled, heat bubbling in my veins.

"Of course I can see that!" she shot back, her voice climbing higher. "But why the hell did you have to hide it from ?!"

"Because I wanted to propose to you properly!" I roared. "I wanted the world to know how much I love you!"

"And I would’ve said yes even if your whole family threatened !" Georgia scread right back. "I’d still marry you!"

"Then what’s wrong with doing the prenup if you were going to marry anyway?!"

The air crackled like a battlefield. Then—

"Hep!" Oliver cut in, waving his hands like a referee calling a foul. "Ti out! Can you two please make up your minds? Are you getting divorced, annulled, or what?!"

"NO!" Georgia and I shouted in unison, startling him.

Oliver blinked. "...So you’re staying married?"

"YES!" we barked together again.

He threw his head back in disbelief. "Then why the hell are you two still fighting?! What am I even here for? Do you want to docunt this pointless fight?

I should start charging per hour. And since there are two of you screaming in full volu, that’s double the rate. Oh—and it’s already late, so I’ll be adding night differential!"

The car went dead silent.

Georgia crossed her arms and turned away with a huff. I rubbed my face, still fuming that she wasn’t seeing my point.

Oliver groaned dramatically, massaging his temples. "Alright, enough. Here’s what’s going to happen: I’m getting out of my car so you two can finish your little soap opera in peace.

I’m going back to the party, I’m going to drink, and for once, I’d like to enjoy myself without being dragged into your family chaos. Don’t call unless it’s life or death, got it?"

Before I could argue, he shoved his car keys into my hand like he was washing his hands of the whole ordeal, then slamd the door behind him as he left.

Georgia and I sat in the heavy silence.

"Why are we even fighting?" I muttered the mont Oliver disappeared from the parking lot.

Then I heard it, soft, shaky sniffling. My head snapped toward Georgia, and my heart nearly dropped when I saw her crying.

"Hey, hey, no—don’t do that," I panicked, scrambling for tissues in Oliver’s glove compartnt. I snatched a handful and gently dabbed at her tears. "Please don’t cry, baby. Your makeup will get ruined, and Vicky will kill ."

Thank God, that pulled a chuckle out of her, even through the tears.

"I’m sorry," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I didn’t an to get upset. I just hate that you keep risking everything for —your life, your career, and now this... even your rights as a Knight. Everything you’ve worked so hard for."

Her words cracked open. I hadn’t realized she was still carrying that weight, blaming herself for my choices.

"Georgia... baby, look at ," I said, cupping her face so she couldn’t turn away. "What kind of man would I be if I couldn’t protect the woman I love? I’d kill for you if I had to—do you understand that? You’re not a burden, you’re the reason I fight."

Her lips trembled. "I just want you to be happy, Nick. Not always throwing yourself into the fire for ."

"Then let do this," I pleaded. "If you want happy, let protect you. Let take care of you. Because seeing you safe, smiling, and at peace, that is my happiness. That’s all I’ll ever need."

She blinked back the last of her tears and nodded. "Okay... can we stop fighting now?"

I laughed under my breath and kissed her forehead. "Baby, this wasn’t even a fight. This was... tactical misunderstanding managent."

She rolled her eyes but smiled, then shifted closer until she was sitting across my lap, her arms wrapping tight around my neck. "I’m really sorry. I don’t even know why I snapped like that. Maybe I’m just exhausted.

My feet are killing , and Vicky kept parading around like a show pony, introducing to every person with a last na longer than mine..."

Her voice kept going, but honestly, my ears stopped working halfway through. Because my eyes had decided to betray .

Her breasts were practically spilling out of her dress right on my face—how the hell was I able to control myself all night? Probably because I’d been sweating bullets about the song and the proposal.

But now? Now my nerves were gone, and every ounce of blood in my body was rushing south.

I tightened my grip on her waist and leaned close enough for her to feel the problem pressing against her thigh.

"Nick!" she gasped, catching the look in my eyes.

"Yeah, baby?" I smirked. "Still tired? Or should we... discuss this misunderstanding further?"
