Nick’s POV
"We’re screwed..." Georgia muttered, her voice breathless against my chest.
I sat up, reached for the tissue box on the side table, and handed her a few before pulling out and cleaning myself. My brows furrowed. Screwed? What the hell was she talking about?
"What do you an?" I asked, still distracted by the ss I was trying to wipe away.
She did not answer . Instead, she shot up, snatched her phone from her bag, tapped furiously, and then shoved the screen right in front of my face. My first thought was if she was mad at ? But why?
I squinted at the screen. A calendar covered in pinks, purples, and flowers. Cute, but confusing as hell.
"What exactly am I looking at?" I asked, clueless, while she started gathering her clothes, her movents rushed, almost frantic.
"Where is your bathroom?" she demanded, her tone sharp, impatient.
"Use the one in my room. It is bigger," I said, my confusion growing. "But tell first, why are you showing this? Is this... a scheduler app? Are we already planning our next date?"
She ignored completely. "Where is your room?"
I stood and caught her by the arms, gently but firmly, because I could see the panic rising in her eyes. "Hey, hey... slow down. What is wrong? You look worried," I said as softly as possible while trying to make her look at .
Her gaze finally snapped to mine, and she all but exploded. "I told you to pull out! You ca inside and—" She snatched the phone back and jabbed at the screen. "See this? That purple mark? I will be fertile tomorrow. As in hours from now!" Her voice broke with frustration. "Just tell where your damn bathroom is so I can clean up and head out."
My brows pulled together. "Wait, wait... you’re fertile tomorrow, so your plan is to... leave?" I shook my head, still baffled. "That does not make any sense, Georgia."
She sighed so hard it was almost a growl. "I am going to the pharmacy to buy so ergency birth control pills. Then I will co back. So just please tell where the freaking bathroom is." She spun on her heel before I could answer. "You know what? Never mind! I will find it myself!"
I could not help it—I leaned back against the armrest of the sofa, arms folded, smirk tugging at my lips as I watched her storm off. My wild, stubborn Georgia. The love of my life.
She flung open the nearest door—my ho office. Wrong. Her shoulders tensed, then she marched to the next. Wrong again. It was the storage for cleaning materials and tools.
Door after door, she grew more exasperated, muttering under her breath, her ssy hair bouncing with every sharp movent while still naked, just wearing her damn sexy black panties.
By the ti she whipped her head toward and glared, I had to bite my cheek to keep from laughing out loud.
God, she was beautiful even when she was furious. Maybe especially then. Too cute for my own good.
"Are you smiling? Tell you are not enjoying this... Nicholas Knight! Where the hell is your bathroom? I am not kidding!" Georgia yelled, her voice full of panic, and that was it—I lost it. A chuckle slipped past my lips before I could stop myself.
She was adorable when she was mad, even more so when she was panicking. All this fuss over being afraid to get pregnant... and yet, instead of worrying, my mind betrayed .
I could already picture her—round belly with my child, glowing, eating like a little monster with puffed cheeks and demanding snacks at midnight.
The image of her with a baby bump made my chest warm, and then the thought of a tiny version of or her—a little Nick or another Katie, perhaps—running around and calling "Daddy"... God, I wanted that with this woman in front of more than anything.
"What the hell is wrong with you? Are you even listening to ?!" Her sharp voice snapped out of my daydream.
She stood in front of , hands on her waist, glaring, lips pressed into a thin line. Damn, she was sexy even when she was mad.
"I am not telling you," I said, smirking.
Her eyes went wide for half a second, then she exploded. With a fierce little growl, she grabbed her bag and swung it at , landing a surprisingly strong hit on my shoulder.
I burst out laughing, dodging just as she tried again. "Hey, stop that! You’re just like my mom and Vicky! Why do won in my life always attack with their bags?" I teased, stepping back but not too far, letting her chase around like a storm in heels.
I could’ve easily outrun her, but where was the fun in that? Watching her cheeks flush, her hair bouncing as she tried to whack again and again, hearing her chuckle mix with her outrage... it was better than any victory. She was fire and chaos, and I couldn’t get enough.
She suddenly stopped. Her knees gave in, and she slumped on the floor like a frustrated child, tears spilling down her cheeks. I should’ve been worried, but God, it was the most adorable thing I’d ever seen.
"Hey, baby, don’t cry..." I crouched in front of her and reached out to wipe her tears, but she slapped my hand away with a pout.
"You like bullying !" she snapped.
I tried to keep a straight face but failed miserably. "I’m not bullying you, babe. I just... don’t understand why you’re panicking this much."
Her eyes widened, and she practically scread, "Are you insane? Nicholas! I just told you—I’m fertile starting tomorrow and you ca inside ! Did you skip SexEd in school? It ans I could get pregnant, you jerk!"
That did it. I couldn’t hold it back—I burst out laughing again. She was so damn cute when she was mad, so fiery, so alive. My chest ached from laughing, and yet, at the sa ti, the sight of her teary eyes and flushed cheeks made hard all over again.
Hell, my cock was still hanging out of my unzipped pants, and I hadn’t even tucked it back in.
Then she noticed. Her eyes widened in outrage, and she grabbed her bag to smack again. "You pervert!"
I dodged the hit, still laughing. "Haha! If you’re going to get pregnant, then let’s at least make sure it’s a boy—since we already have Katie."
Her jaw dropped, and before she could hurl another hit at , I swept her up into my arms and hoisted her over my shoulder like a sack of rice.
"Nick!" she shrieked, pounding her fists against my back.
Then she was quiet after a mont, probably still reeling from what I said. I smirked as I carried her toward the hidden door that led straight to my bedroom. She didn’t know it yet, but I wasn’t planning on letting her go—not now, not ever.
