Ye Qiu had just stepped out of the elevator and was about to head to Xiao i’s office when he unexpectedly saw Shen Xingru walking over in a bright red sumr dress.
The two of them hadn’t seen each other for a long ti, mainly because Ye Qiu basically never sought Shen Xingru out.
And Shen Xingru, after all, was a divorced woman, and she also knew that Ye Qiu was with her younger sister.
"Doctor Ye, it’s you. Are you here to see my sister?" Shen Xingru asked.
"I just finished afternoon tea with Shen Yueru. She went upstairs. I’m on my way to see Xiao i."
Going to see Xiao i?
Shen Xingru was taken aback for a mont.
But she had heard the rumors about Ye Qiu and her sister, as well as that Director Xiao, though she hadn’t expected Ye Qiu to say it himself.
Shen Xingru had been married, had given birth, and was divorced; to her, this didn’t really an much anymore.
Of course, she knew that if it weren’t for Ye Qiu, she might have died twice already.
Being able to have a new life now really was thanks to Ye Qiu.
"I’m over at the Jiangnan Silk Association now, so I rarely co here anymore," Shen Xingru said.
Originally, Shen Xingru had been the finance director and a deputy general manager of the company, but since she put all her energy into her child, Shen Yueru simply arranged for her to be a vice president at the Jiangnan Silk Association—basically a sinecure and fairly relaxed.
Of course, she knew that compared to her sister, her own abilities were much weaker; she didn’t envy her sister, and in any case she felt her current life was quite good.
Noticing Ye Qiu staring at her, Shen Xingru felt a little embarrassed.
"Co to my office for a cup of tea."
Shen Xingru invited Ye Qiu to her office, and Ye Qiu followed her over.
After the two of them entered Shen Xingru’s office and she went to make tea—
Ye Qiu noticed that Shen Xingru seed even more full-figured than before.
But this extra fullness made her look even more alluring.
In fact, most won’s figures obviously go out of shape after giving birth, and they tend to look a few years older than their actual age.
But aside from being a bit more voluptuous, there wasn’t much change in Shen Xingru’s figure.
This was very likely closely related to her current state of mind and all kinds of things.
Back then, because she was sick and had married a useless man who was also dostically violent, she must not have been eating or sleeping well; but now, it was different. Apart from caring about the son she had with her ex-husband, she was completely free.
With her figure and family background, she really had quite a few suitors chasing her, including so unmarried ones, but after one failed marriage, Shen Xingru no longer wanted to think about those things; to her, life now was already very good.
After Shen Xingru poured Ye Qiu a cup of tea, she sat down across from him.
"I heard from my sister that you’ve helped her a lot."
She also knew about the several crises the company had faced, but from what she’d heard, they had all been resolved by Ye Qiu.
"It was nothing," Ye Qiu said.
"And —if it weren’t for you, I’d probably have died twice by now."
Shen Xingru looked at Ye Qiu again as she spoke.
She now felt that getting a new life really was all thanks to Ye Qiu.
So Shen Xingru felt that she and her sister truly owed Ye Qiu a lot.
If she hadn’t been married yet, was a few years younger than Ye Qiu, and had t him earlier, Shen Xingru felt that would’ve been wonderful—at least she could have ended up with such a good man as Ye Qiu.
But there are no ifs in this world; as she was now, she already felt very satisfied.
"Everything’s fine with you now, right?"
"Nothing wrong anymore. My son is mainly on formula now."
He was still drinking formula at over a year old?
"Wasn’t he already a month old long ago?"
"Yes, but this is imported formula; he can drink it until he’s three."
So that was it.
After drinking two cups of tea and seeing that there wasn’t anything else,
he got ready to leave.
Shen Xingru looked at Ye Qiu, as if she wanted to say sothing, but in the end she didn’t.
After Ye Qiu left Shen Xingru’s office, he headed toward Xiao i’s office.
This ti he had mainly co over to see Xiao i.
He knocked on the door from outside, and not long after, Xiao i opened it, looked at him, and asked, "Here for ?"
"Of course."
Xiao i’s face flushed slightly.
"I’m still on the clock."
"Then go ahead and finish your work."
Ye Qiu sat down on a chair, while Xiao i, wearing anti-radiation glasses, sat in front of her computer and continued working.
Right now, Xiao i was the HR director for both Qingcheng Group and Xingyue Group, and HR handled recruitnt and promotions, so her workload was still fairly heavy.
But she felt it was pretty good.
Basically, she just needed to work regular hours; she rarely worked overti, unlike Shen Yueru, who had to work late frequently.
It wasn’t until five thirty in the afternoon that Xiao i stopped, shut down her computer, and wrapped up her work for the day.
Because they had a talent pool, she wasn’t too worried about the company running into similar issues again.
The rank-and-file production staff were all handled by other people in the HR departnt.
Xiao i picked up her bag and left the office with Ye Qiu.
They took the elevator down, then each got into their own cars. After driving back to Xiao i’s high-end apartnt complex and parking, they went upstairs.
Xiao i took off her work uniform and those sheer flesh-colored stockings, then changed into the clothes she wore at ho, instantly feeling much more comfortable.
Seeing Ye Qiu sitting on the sofa, Xiao i said, "Ye Qiu, I’m going to the nearby market to buy so groceries first."
Xiao i still wasn’t willing to eat out; she felt that personally cooking at ho for the man she liked gave her a strong sense of accomplishnt and a kind of family warmth.
After Xiao i grabbed a basket and went out to buy groceries, Ye Qiu stayed alone watching TV.
When Xiao i ca back with the groceries and started cooking in the kitchen, Ye Qiu’s phone rang.
"Ye Qiu, it’s , where are you?"
"Mom, I’m having dinner at a friend’s place. I won’t be coming ho tonight."
Not coming ho?
Chen Fang had no idea which friend Ye Qiu had gone to.
This morning, she, Ye Weidong, and Ye Xue had gone to Jade City to walk around for the day, and the couple had been truly astonished; they’d never imagined Jade City was that big and business was that booming.
Even if Jade City only made ten million in profit a day, the figure for a whole year was unbelievable.
After looking around, Ye Weidong took Chen Fang and Ye Xue back to the old textile factory compound to see their old apartnt; the residents there were all extrely respectful toward the couple now.
This made the couple even more delighted that they were lucky to have Ye Qiu as their son; they’d originally wanted to have dinner at ho and asked Ye Qiu to co back and eat together.
They hadn’t expected Ye Qiu to be out.
Since Ye Qiu wasn’t ho, but Lin Xiang had co back—and she was a guest, after all—Ye Weidong asked Chen Fang and Xiaomai to go buy so extra groceries.
"Then what are you eating at your friend’s tonight?"
"Mom, I’m eating at tonight."
at?
Wasn’t eating at perfectly normal? Why did it sound like Ye Qiu was especially happy about it?
Chen Fang couldn’t figure it out.
