Ruby Sullivan lay face down on the ground, her plastered leg still hanging off the bed. If she hadn’t reacted quickly and supported herself with her hand, her mildly concussed head would likely have suffered further injury.

However, the crisp sound from her elbow just now made her think she should get an X-ray of her arm when she goes for her head check-up tomorrow.

Unsure of how to get up, she heard soone entering, and the next mont, a pair of shiny black leather shoes appeared in her view. Ruby Sullivan bit down on her molars with hatred, tilting her neck to avoid looking at him.

"If Miss Wenny wants to exercise, it’s best to choose a ti when soone nearby can assist," Edwin Sterling said ticulously, with an air of sarcasm, as he leaned down to scoop her up.

Ruby Sullivan shrank her neck away from him, "Thank you."

Ethan Sterling placed her back on the bed, "If I hadn’t co back, were you planning to stay here until tomorrow morning?" He looked around, "From this spot, it seems even the nurse call button is out of reach."

"Mr. Sterling, I do know how to yell for help loudly." Ruby Sullivan was verbally sharp but hung her head like a reprimanded student, not daring to lift her head, thinking about how silly she had looked just now.

Ethan Sterling frowned, watching her pitiful expression, montarily dazed, feeling irritated unwittingly, "What were you trying to do just now?"

"No need to trouble Mr. Sterling, I’ll call a nurse for help." Ruby Sullivan kept her head down, not wanting to admit she was heading to the restroom.

"I’m your employer, and I hope you’ll return to work soon rather than being further injured in the hospital and staying admitted." Ethan Sterling took a deep breath, "You’re very costly!"

Ruby Sullivan felt too uncomfortable to continue dawdling with him, "Then could Mr. Sterling kindly help to the bathroom?" She proactively raised one arm.

Ethan Sterling swiftly slung her arm over his shoulder and once more lifted her up.

Ruby Sullivan was slightly displeased; the hospital room wasn’t very large, and she could shuffle over with a bit of help, "Does Mr. Sterling maintain such a close distance with every female employee?"

"I just don’t want to waste ti." His face was half dark, as if every word he said was carrying anger.

He didn’t understand why he felt irritated, but the instant Ruby Sullivan’s face overlapped with Wenny’s in his mind, it ignited all his emotions.

Only at the bathroom door did Ethan Sterling release her, "Can you manage on your own?"

Ruby Sullivan uttered a barely audible "Mm," quickly supporting herself against the wall as she shuffled inside, just managing to sit on the toilet when he called from outside, "Clap when you’re done."

She covered her face with both hands on her knees, her face flushed with embarrassnt, wishing she could sink into the toilet, refusing to co out!

Ethan Sterling waited outside the restroom for a long ti, unable to hear the sound of clapping, and couldn’t help but call, "Wenny?"

Ruby Sullivan’s face was still burning hot, barely mustering the strength to respond, "Mr. Sterling, please go back first, I... I can co out by myself."

"Do you want to kick the door in?"

"No!" Afraid he might really act recklessly, she hurriedly got up holding the wall and opened the door, seeing him about to pick her up again, she quickly retreated, "You can just help a bit."

Ethan Sterling lowered his shoulder for her to lean on, letting her shuffle a few steps out, and when there was enough space outside the bathroom, he picked her up again without a word.

Ruby Sullivan’s mind short-circuited, looking at him sowhat panicked, montarily unable to speak.

Ethan Sterling cast her a light glance, "You’re walking too slow."

She pursed her lips, feeling only embarrassnt.

Her embarrassnt wasn’t from making a fool of herself in front of him, but from her own sudden fluster; once upon a ti, she had looked forward to such a hug.

"Press the nurse call button if you need anything, your situation just now could easily exacerbate a pulled ligant. I’m leaving now." Ethan Sterling said as he glanced at her again, then turned and left.

"Mr. Sterling!"

Almost impulsively, Ruby Sullivan called out, and even she was stunned for a mont afterward, but seeing Ethan Sterling turn around, she avoided his gaze and asked, "I heard Sasha Shaw say about Ruby Sullivan’s matter."

"Oh?" Ethan Sterling raised an eyebrow.

Ruby Sullivan took a deep breath, staring at the air in front of her and asked, "Don’t you feel guilty for causing Ruby Sullivan’s death in order to be with Rhonda Sullivan?"

Ethan Sterling was taken aback, surprised that Sasha Shaw would see him this way, did that an Ruby Sullivan thought this too?

"I don’t know the stance from which Miss Wenny is asking this question, as a bystander or... asking on Sasha Shaw’s behalf?" He forcibly swallowed back the words "party involved."

"I just... feel sympathy for Ruby Sullivan." She tightly clasped her hands together, barely controlling her trembling voice.

"You can tell Sasha Shaw that if Ruby Sullivan herself asks this question, I will certainly answer truthfully."

Ruby Sullivan stiffened, smiling evasively, "Mr. Sterling is really humorous, isn’t Ruby Sullivan already dead?"

"Then let her ask in a dream," Ethan Sterling stord out of the hospital room, unable to quell his anger.

Ruby Sullivan froze, did he really not believe she was dead? If not, what would he do? Find and kill her again? Unfortunately, she’s no longer the fat woman who didn’t dare speak loudly in front of him.

Ruby Sullivan’s head ached, she wanted to lie down and rest but the room door was pushed open once more.

She looked coldly at the visitor, "Why is my hospital stay so lively?"

Not far away, Rhonda Sullivan glared at her, ready to flay her with her gaze.

Ruby Sullivan laughed, "It’s truly an honor for Miss Sullivan to visit at the hospital so late."

"Not Ethan Sterling coming back, are you disappointed?"

Ruby Sullivan pressed her lips tight, her mind recalling the question she just asked Ethan Sterling.

Similarly, she wanted to ask Rhonda Sullivan, having taken over The Sullivan Group, causing her father who raised her to almost die of anger, even pushing her sister to the brink, doesn’t she feel unsettled when waking from dreams at midnight?

She stared at her unblinkingly and taunted, "Ethan... never disappoints ."

Rhonda Sullivan’s expression changed instantly, stepping quickly to her side, "You bitch, how dare you call him Ethan?"

Ruby Sullivan admired her furious face, speaking more leisurely, "I finally understand why Ethan gets annoyed with you, tsk tsk tsk." She provocatively raised her head to size her up, "What man would want to be with a shrew?"

With a "slap," Ruby Sullivan was hit, her head tilted, and her cheek imdiately burned. Her head already hurt a little, and she was briefly dazed.

Many mories were also triggered by that slap.

Ruby Sullivan didn’t rember when she started loving snacks, but she did rember her sister telling her to eat more when upset to comfort herself, and eat more when happy to celebrate. At sixteen, when she decided to lose weight because she realized she liked Ethan Sterling, her sister also told her that if he was her true love, he’d love her even if she was as fat as a ball.

Ruby Sullivan believed her sister who grew up with her couldn’t lie to her.

Really naïve and foolish.

Perhaps many people would laugh, laugh at her for blaming others for her overeating, well then, laugh, for she too would laugh at her forr self.

Ruby Sullivan glanced at Rhonda Sullivan, suddenly wanting to ask if her sister, who constantly discouraged her from losing weight and even indulged in gluttony with her, was truly doing it for her good?
