Actually, the two always thought Ruby Sullivan was in a stage where visits were not allowed, but they ca today because Ethan Sterling inford them.

The police needed a statent from Ruby Sullivan, but what worried Ethan Sterling the most was Brandon Sullivan. Not only did he hire the top lawyer in Ariston for Rhonda Sullivan to make a defense of innocence, but he also wanted Ruby Sullivan to withdraw the accusation.

Thus, he wanted to talk to Ruby Sullivan about this matter first, hoping that when she wavered, her two closest friends might persuade her for him.

Ethan Sterling had no confidence in the trust placed in him by Ruby Sullivan but was certain she would unconditionally believe Faye Truman and Sasha Shaw. Although this fact made him sowhat uncomfortable, there was no ti to dwell on it now.

After Ruby Sullivan got hurt, Ethan Sterling realized why Aidan Sinclair referred to him as overly compassionate. If he had nodded sooner, Rhonda Sullivan would have disappeared from this world long ago.

It was his mistake; now he absolutely could not show rcy to Rhonda Sullivan anymore. No one knew if that woman was truly insane or just pretending, but keeping her around was akin to having a ti bomb nearby.

Ruby Sullivan was thrilled to see her two friends, diving into Sasha Shaw’s arms and started acting spoiled, "Why did you take so long to co see !"

Sasha Shaw rolled her eyes, "Isn’t it because soone wants to keep you all to themselves, not letting us visit." If it hadn’t been for contacting Mama Bennett, even with Ethan Sterling blocking her, she would have barged into the ward to see her, wouldn’t she?

Ruby Sullivan giggled, transford into a little girl, looked up at her and blinked, "How are you and Sean Quinn doing?"

"Oh my God, the first thing you thought of when you saw was gossip?"

"Of course, I chased away specters for the sake of gossip, isn’t that impressive?"

"Look at how amazing you are." Seeing her talking and laughing so freely, the worry which had gripped Sasha Shaw’s heart finally relaxed. Yet she couldn’t help hugging her, her voice choked with emotion, "It’s truly great to chase away specters."

Faye Truman got up, extending her arms to embrace the two, "Can we not get sentintal..."

Watching the three hug together, Ethan Sterling felt a pulsating sensation at his temples, the feeling of being like an outsider wasn’t good at all.

He coughed a few tis, subtly reminding them of his presence.

Faye Truman released her hold, sitting properly on the chair, Sasha Shaw also let go, sitting on the hospital bed, leaning side by side against Ruby Sullivan on the bed fra.

She looked at Ethan Sterling, "Go ahead, speak."

Ruby Sullivan was stunned, also looking at Ethan Sterling, wondering what he wanted to say, having specifically asked her two friends to co over, was it to... remarry?

She felt a slight nervousness at the mont.

Ethan Sterling remained silent for a mont, saying, "Ruby, it was Rhonda Sullivan who stabbed you at the ball."

So it was about this. Ruby Sullivan blinked, calming down imdiately, not surprised at all by the answer, "Hm." She acknowledged with a sound, signaling him to continue.

"It’s still unclear how she left the hospital that day, but it’s certain that wanting to kill you was preditated, because she wore a mask that day, all actions confird it wasn’t due to ntal disorder-induced homicide, yet your father now wants you to withdraw the accusation against her. If you disagree, he will also hire a lawyer to prove she was ntally unstable, thus making an innocent defense."

Ruby Sullivan froze, feeling lightly patted on the shoulder by Sasha Shaw, finally regained her senses, "Is that why you didn’t let see dad during this ti?"

Ethan Sterling nodded, "I was also worried you’d go soft on Rhonda Sullivan, so I called your friends."

Faye Truman sighed, "That day was my fault too, there were quite a few people, and everyone was dressed differently, couldn’t identify Rhonda Sullivan blending in."

"If that woman wanted to kill , she’d find a way." Ruby Sullivan let out a breath, "Don’t worry, I won’t withdraw the accusation."

Sasha Shaw hugged her, "Even if she treated you well when you were little, it could be with hidden motives, if it weren’t for her encouragent, how would you have beco so fat when you were small? You’ve been pulled back from the gates of hell because of her countless tis, it’s divine intervention."

"Hm." Ruby Sullivan solemnly responded.

Knowing she couldn’t speak much now, Sasha Shaw and Faye Truman stayed a while longer before leaving, urging Ethan Sterling to call them if anything happened, they were available anyti for bedside companionship.

After her two friends left, Ruby Sullivan had a long sleep, her mind was scattered, receiving so much information all of a sudden, unable to process at once, thus feeling sleepy.

Upon waking, it was past three in the afternoon, Ethan Sterling was handling official duties at his computer.

She slowly sat up, seeing him turn his head, said, "I want to see my father."

Ethan Sterling frowned, "Your current physical state shouldn’t handle distress, nor anger, recuperate first."

"Aren’t the police coming over tomorrow? I want to et my dad first."

"Do you think your dad’s words will influence what you say to the police?"

"Absolutely not, I will just tell the police whatever needs saying. I really want to ask my dad why he’s so protective of Rhonda Sullivan." She gave a bitter smile, "I used to think dad loved the most, but now that he’s awake, I wonder if I got a different dad? Maybe it’s because I spent so little ti with him before, so... misunderstood?" Regardless of how kind-hearted dad might be, how fair he is to both daughters, he shouldn’t favor an adopted daughter more than her, right?

Could he possibly know Rhonda Sullivan intends to harm her and still choose to help Rhonda Sullivan?

Ethan Sterling seeing her firm expression, could only concede, "On one condition, I must be present."

"That’s fine."

An hour later, the driver brought Brandon Sullivan over.

Whether it was an illusion or not, Ruby Sullivan thought he seed to have gained quite a bit of weight.

Brandon Sullivan was delighted to see her, "Dear daughter, Dad finally got to see you." As he spoke, settling into the chair, he cast a glance at Ethan Sterling, first making an accusation, "He has always prevented from seeing you, definitely aiming to sow discord between us."

"Dad, it wasn’t Ethan preventing you from seeing , it was my health condition not allowing to see you, my emotions shouldn’t fluctuate too much now, if hemorrhaging happens, a critical illness notice could be issued at any mont."

Brandon Sullivan was startled, "Then control your emotions, control them."

"Hm." Ruby Sullivan smiled slightly, "I want to ask you about Rhonda Sullivan."

Brandon Sullivan rubbed his hands, didn’t expect the daughter to bring it up first, "Actually, I wanted to discuss this with you, you are sisters, she also has the illness, this ti... can you let her go?"

"If I die, you would directly forgive her?" Ruby Sullivan stared steadily at him.

If she died, the person legally entitled to file charges would be only him, the father.

Brandon Sullivan frowned, looking at her troubled, after a long while, he squeezed out a sentence, "Rhonda... was ntally disordered, not an actual intention to kill you."

Ruby Sullivan frowned too, looking at her father incredulously, wondering if there was sothing wrong with her ears.
