Ruby Sullivan looked at the ti and hesitated over her phone for a while before deciding to call Ethan Sterling.

At this mont, Ethan Sterling was just preparing to get up. Seeing Ruby Sullivan’s na, he hesitated slightly before answering, "What’s up?"

His voice carried a heavy nasal tone, seemingly no different from usual.

"Um... you saw it, right?" Ruby nervously tugged at her blanket, drawing out her voice until the end and asked vaguely.

"Yeah." Ethan knew she was referring to the exposed news and answered as such.

Ruby had thought he would throw a series of questions at her so that all she needed to do was answer honestly and explain clearly, but now that it was her who called him, why did she feel a bit guilty of a guilty conscience?

She’s a single mom having coffee with a single man around her age, what’s wrong with that?

Thinking this, Ruby felt a bit dissatisfied with his indifferent attitude, completely forgetting why she made the call in the first place, "Otherwise, why don’t we take this chance to announce the divorce? After all, neither of us is a public figure, and it feels unfair for you to be gossiped about because of ."

She calmly and restrainedly proposed her suggestion. If the situation hadn’t escalated to the dia, they could have divorced or she could have resigned with nothing more than an explanation to the shareholders involved. Now that things had co to this, they might as well co clean.

Ethan sighed and was silent for a long ti, "Alright."

Ruby didn’t expect him to agree so readily, which left her montarily speechless, growing angrier the more she thought about it, "Alright? That’s not good at all!"

Suddenly, like a spoiled little girl, she shouted at the phone and then angrily hung up.

What happened to her? Why did she do sothing so childish?

Clutching her chest, her heart ached so much that even her fingers trembled, the feeling of ten fingers linked to her heart made her panicked.

Ethan was stunned, slightly furrowing his brows; wasn’t he the one who should be angry now?

He had indeed seen that news and hadn’t let the PR team handle it; it was just a photo of having coffee with the opposite sex.

All the netizens’ comnts were like evidence of catching him cheating, excited as if they were on steroids, apart from paid trolls, he couldn’t imagine any reasonable explanation.

Even if they were bored netizens, with so many celebrity scandals to consu, there was really no need to focus on this.

Ethan was undoubtedly displeased, so much so that he wanted to fly to ridia imdiately to ask her in person what was going on; she had just hinted at giving him another chance but turned around to date another man, what did she take him for?

Yet, this unrest quickly subsided; what answer could he expect from asking her? It’s her freedom after all.

He didn’t want to make such a groundless move that would make her dislike him. Right now, he should focus on what needs to be done, and then remind her of his presence; there’s a long way to go, and he was quite composed.

Ethan chuckled, but now, it seed soone else wasn’t so composed.

He put down his phone, his mood suddenly lifting.

At that mont, the assistant knocked and entered, looking jittery, "Mr. Sterling, this is a court summons."

Ethan was slightly surprised; upon opening it, it was indeed about Rhonda Sullivan’s case.

"Let the lawyer co over this afternoon." He tossed the summons aside, not paying it much mind.

The Finn Family is willing to be exploited, hoping to seize a last chance, but unfortunately, he really didn’t care much about this matter.

Across the ocean, Ruby Sullivan didn’t sleep well at all and opened her eyes to see a text from an unfamiliar number: Sister, help .

Ruby looked at the ssage in confusion, without considering the dostic timing, and imdiately dialed Ethan Sterling.

She had just vowed to herself not to deal with that man, yet she found herself in a situation that made her eat her words so soon.

Ethan was drinking by the window; despite receiving calls from Ruby so frequently, he was pleased and answered promptly, "Not angry anymore?"

Rembering her inexplicable outburst, Ruby felt her face heat up but soon thought of the main matter, "I got a strange SOS text, seems like... it’s from Rhonda Sullivan."

Ethan’s brow furrowed tightly.

He had never told Ruby about that matter, but he guessed she knew by now as too many people wanted her to know, just like the inexplicable photo trending online.

Neither he nor Ruby was a public figure, nor did they live off public perception or fans, so who was that news intended for? Clearly for him, it seed soone very much didn’t want him and Ruby to reconcile.

Ruby waited for a while without a reply, couldn’t help but call his na, "Ethan Sterling, did you hear ?"

"Yeah." Ethan paused, thinking for a mont, said, "Actually, after you left, I had Rhonda Sullivan committed to a ntal institution. I... hated her."

That sentence ripped open the scars on their hearts that had just healed; this past could neither be faced directly nor easily avoided.

Ruby sighed, "So, now... she’s hoping I’ll plead for her?" She didn’t wish to get into Ethan’s feelings about this woman, just what this ssage ant.

"She’s now controlled by The Finn Family." Ethan chuckled indifferently, "I even received a court summons today, the Finn Family... seem to want to seek justice for this woman."

Ruby thought for a mont, "For money?"

Given The Finn Family’s current situation, money wouldn’t help, right? How much money could compare to the Sinclair Family’s magnitude?

"Who knows, but I guess they are probably targeting , aiming to put behind bars first."

Ruby was stunned, urgently asking, "What do you an by put behind bars?"

"Jail."

"You’re going to jail?" Ruby gasped, "What did you do to Rhonda Sullivan that would send you to jail?"

"Not much." Ethan paused, deciding to be honest, rather than having others tell him with embellishnts, it’s better to tell her himself: "Nothing much, just that... I returned to her what she did to you back then."

Ruby was so shocked she covered her mouth.

Ethan heard her silence for a long ti, thinking she was reminiscing on past events, feeling sad again, "I’m sorry, I failed to fulfill my duty as a husband back then."

"What face does she have to sue you? I’m going back ho right now, and we’ll counter-sue!" Ruby indignantly got out of bed.

Ethan was stunned, "You’re saying... you’re coming back?"

"You’re about to be sent in, of course, I have to co back!" Ruby felt like she would blow up in rage.

When she was bullied, her man was oblivious, now that her man was to support the family, they wanted to put him in jail, do they think Ruby Sullivan is stupid?
