Ruby Sullivan felt that Ethan Sterling’s words were a bit strange, but she really didn’t have ti to think about these things at the mont. Daydream’s scheduled release date is Christmas, and initially abundant ti beca a bit insufficient after all this trouble.
She had to gather everyone and propose a week of overti; except for special circumstances, everyone must work two extra hours to catch up on progress. The temporary perk she could offer was treating everyone to dinner every day.
"This ti, it’s my fault for not considering it thoroughly and dragging everyone down with . Sorry," Ruby Sullivan said sincerely, though she knew how cheap her sincerity felt.
Young was the first to laugh, "Just a heads up, if I need to go on a date, I definitely have to take ti off, otherwise missing out on a good man is sothing you can’t afford."
Ruby Sullivan saw her blink and laughed along.
Claire was excitedly looking at Ruby Sullivan, saying, "Boss, we’ve heard that your social circles often have charity parties and upscale events, where you just randomly encounter one of those overbearing CEOs. I don’t want any other perk, just want to attend such an occasion. What if I land a golden bachelor?"
Tina nodded continuously from the side, and even Zoe, who already had a boyfriend, had a sparkle in her eyes.
Ruby Sullivan was a bit surprised; she always found such staged occasions the most boring. "Are you sure you want this perk?"
The girls almost replied in unison, "Yes!"
Ruby Sullivan laughed, "Alright, when the formula is complete, I’ll have Mr. Sterling host a ball and invite so elite families to attend."
"Yes!" Claire cheered, as if her dream of hooking a golden bachelor could soon beco a reality.
"Alright, it’s settled then. Now, let’s all work hard!" Ruby Sullivan clapped her hands to adjourn the eting and imdiately got back to work.
At noon, she pulled Young along to have lunch, asking her about the procurent channels for materials.
Young shook her head, "Boss, if even you don’t know, how would I know?"
Going directly to the procurent departnt’s head seed inappropriate, especially considering her current special status. She realized she’d have to find so ti either tomorrow or tonight to bother Ethan Sterling.
She felt that the problem with Daydream’s formula wasn’t as simple as it seed; she indeed needed to know the details of the raw material channels to better understand the characteristics of the products.
It appeared that although she seed hardworking before, most of her attention was actually on Honey, so she overlooked all these details that could have been considered.
She felt a bit guilty about the salary Ethan Sterling offered her.
She couldn’t help but laugh, suddenly missing the kids. At this ti, they should be already asleep, right?
Young saw her smirking secretly and found it strange, "Boss, what are you thinking about?"
"Just secretly enjoying myself," she replied.
"Oh," Young teased but didn’t press further.
In the afternoon, she was busy working in the lab when Shayna called her "Boss," glancing behind her and asking, "Is soone at the door looking for you?"
She noticed the person opposite was about forty or so, dressed in the latest season’s outfits from head to toe, with a total value surely exceeding ten thousand, believing the likelihood of finding the boss was the greatest.
Ruby Sullivan turned around, only to see Rachel Lawson peering through the glass door, looking inside, and t her gaze, smiling and waving warmly.
She was quite surprised.
Before coming back, she had clearly told Ethan Sterling that the news of her return shouldn’t reach Rachel Lawson.
She put down the test tube and removed her safety goggles, quickly making her way outside the lab.
"Vivian, long ti no see." She greeted her with a smile.
Rachel Lawson excitedly walked forward to hug her, carefully inspecting her, "Not bad, your complexion is much better than before." She said as she held her hand, pretending to be angry and pouting, "You returned ho but didn’t stay at ho? You’re not even thinking about this great beauty?"
After speaking, she playfully patted her lightly on the butt, the affectionate gesture warming Ruby Sullivan’s heart.
"I ca back this ti to resolve so issues, and starting today I have to work overti. Staying at ho isn’t as convenient as being at a nearby hotel," Ruby Sullivan expressed with sincerity.
Of course, Rachel Lawson didn’t believe her, giving her a glance, "I don’t care, my daughter is back, and she has to stay at ho. besides, Emma also misses you. Working overti isn’t an issue; we have a driver, and no hotel beats the comfort of ho. Give your hotel room card, and later I’ll go cancel your hotel reservation. You’ll be staying at ho tonight."
Ruby Sullivan understood Rachel Lawson’s temperant and knew she couldn’t argue with her, so she simply nodded, "Alright."
"Great, go back to work then. Oh, the room card, look at my mory."
"Just wait outside for a mont," Ruby Sullivan said as she turned back to the office to retrieve it. After sending Rachel Lawson off, she called Ethan Sterling, but his phone was off.
She frowned, wondering what was going on.
However, her work was pressing and she didn’t have the ti to think about it, quickly returning to the lab to continue playing with those fragrance raw materials.
At night, she was the last employee to leave The Sterling Building.
When she left the lab, Howard was as considerate as always, standing by the door waiting.
Ruby Sullivan suddenly felt a bit apologetic, "I’ll have Mr. Sterling put together a big red envelope for you."
Howard responded with a light smile, "Mr. Sullivan, you’re too kind. When I joined The Sterling Group, one of the job requirents was being on call 24/7. It’s all part of my regular duties."
The two stepped into the elevator, and Ruby Sullivan rembered he had previously ntioned having a girlfriend, so she casually asked, "Won’t your girlfriend mind?"
"Hmm..." Howard stretched out his voice, awkwardly chuckling. How could his girlfriend not mind when he was like a work machine? Fortunately, his girlfriend was also an ambitious young person and hadn’t complained about it.
"Making life choices is like this, can’t help it. I also value the high salary Mr. Sterling offers, and my girlfriend is soone who’s practical too." He finished and winked, as if they both understood, smiling along with Ruby Sullivan.
Ruby Sullivan was truly exhausted; as soon as the car was on the road, she began to doze off. Howard noticed her nodding vigorously, promptly increasing the air conditioning temperature and switching the radio to light music, hoping she could rest for a while.
When they arrived at The Sterling Family’s ho, it was almost eleven o’clock. Emma, who was watching TV in the living room, got up to embrace her, "Wenny, long ti no see." She had a stern face, which contrasted sharply with her enthusiastic voice, "I can’t smile right now." She pointed at the bandages on her face to explain.
"I see," Ruby Sullivan said, looking at her face, "How’s the recovery going?"
Cindy pursed her lips, "Faye Truman says it’s recovering better than expected, but the current situation is a bit hard to describe." She slightly raised an eyebrow, changing the topic, "Vivian says you’ve been crazy busy with work. I know you’re exhausted, so I’ve prepared hot water in the bathroom. You can have a relaxing bath later."
"So sweet!" Ruby Sullivan gratefully held her hand, "Then I won’t be modest with you."
"Mhm mhm, hurry upstairs. I need to go to bed too," she said with a small yawn, "I’ve been staying up just waiting for you. Vivian goes to bed promptly at ten every day and really couldn’t wait till now. She’s beco very focused on her beauty sleep."
The way Cindy spoke seed full of unspoken stories, but Ruby Sullivan didn’t have the energy to inquire further; she was truly exhausted.
She checked the water temperature in the bathroom, swiftly undressed, and got into the bathtub.
