Rhonda Sullivan looked at his expressionless face and suddenly shivered, her mouth parted in confusion, unable to utter a word for a while. Then, forcing a smile, she said in a coquettish tone to Ethan Sterling: "Ethan, what’s wrong? Can you ask them to let go of first? I... I’m not feeling well."
Ethan Sterling smiled, his face displaying a dark grace that sent chills down one’s spine, very eerie.
"If you’ve forgotten, soone will rember for you."
Then, three hefty won were escorted in through the back door, they were the sa won who had helped at The Sterling Family before. Due to the passage of ti, Ethan Sterling spent so effort to find them, but he eventually succeeded without missing a single one.
The won were frightened by the scene before them, trembling and crying for rcy, one of them weak-kneed and directly kneeling on the ground.
"Mr. Sterling, back then this woman threatened us. We’re all unfortunate people who wanted to continue working in Ariston, none of us dared to oppose her."
"Yes, yes."
The other two followed suit, kneeling down.
Howard, standing beside Ethan Sterling, whispered coldly: "Shut up!" Once they quieted down, he pointed to the most quiet one at the far edge and asked: "Explain everything clearly from those days."
The woman shivered, pausing for a mont, then slowly began to speak: "Back then, we saw Mr. Sterling always being indifferent toward Mrs. Sterling, and thought that Miss Sullivan marrying Mr. Sterling was only a matter of ti. And, we heard Mr. Sterling ask Mrs. Sterling to have an abortion, so when Miss Sullivan brought the abortion dicine to us, we didn’t suspect anything."
"You’re lying!" Rhonda Sullivan scread interrupting her, only to be forcibly gagged with a towel by the bodyguards before she could finish.
"Miss Sullivan, if you don’t want to suffer more, it’s better to cooperate," Howard warned.
Rhonda Sullivan glared at him, stubbornly for a mont, then fiercely giving him a look before giving up.
The events of the past gradually surfaced in the plump woman’s mind, she furrowed her brows slightly.
"Mr. Sterling, I am not lying. That year, Miss Sullivan said it was Mr. Sterling’s idea for us to give the dicine to Mrs. Sterling, and promised us a large sum of money as remuneration. We thought, even if we didn’t agree, Mrs. Sterling would have to go through the abortion anyway, and we didn’t want to offend Miss Sullivan over this matter, so we agreed."
"That day, Mr. Sterling and Miss Sullivan were not at ho. As planned, we forced Mrs. Sterling to drink the dication, she bled heavily, and we were scared it might lead to fatality, so when Mrs. Sterling’s friend ca over to pick her up, we didn’t dare to stop them. Later, Miss Sullivan said Mr. Sterling would be reminded of Mrs. Sterling when he saw us and felt uncomfortable, so she arranged for us to work elsewhere and gave us a large sum of compensation, and we left The Sterling Family happily."
She took a deep breath, "I’m finished."
At Howard’s signal, the bodyguard removed the towel from Rhonda Sullivan’s mouth; she spat out several tufts of fluff, then cursed while gasping for air: "You’re spewing nonsense. How much dirty money did you take to sar here? Back then Ruby Sullivan left The Sterling Family overnight to elope with Nathaniel Truman. On the night she left, I was still lying in the hospital myself, nearly dead, how could I have the mind to care about others?"
Howard saw Ethan Sterling frowning and quickly signaled the bodyguard to gag Rhonda Sullivan’s mouth again.
Then, he picked up a copper kettle from the nearby coffee table and handed it to the woman in front, "Do what you did back then and let this woman drink it."
The woman took the copper kettle, turned to look at the struggling Rhonda Sullivan, but couldn’t keep her hand from trembling.
No one knew if Mrs. Sterling back then was dead or alive, but no one thought Ethan Sterling would co to settle old scores after so many years.
However, can they really be blad? If Mr. Sterling had ever shown even a hint of affection towards Mrs. Sterling back then, they wouldn’t have been so brazen. She rembers, the plump Mrs. Sterling didn’t resemble a lady at all, devoting all her thoughts to taking care of Mr. Sterling, doing the work of servants, and whenever she had ti, she would tend to the herbs in the back garden, always looking untidy. Miss Sullivan was flirting with Mr. Sterling, and all of them as servants could see it clearly, yet she never noticed. They all thought she was pretending to be oblivious, using this thod to maintain her superficial marriage.
The woman slowly walked over to Rhonda Sullivan, already feeling guiltier under her glare.
If they were retaliated against after today’s events were complete, what would they do?
She wanted to pull the towel out of Rhonda Sullivan’s mouth, tried tugging it several tis, but never succeeded, simply because she was too scared.
Swallowing hard, she turned to look at the other two won, "Aren’t you coming to help?"
Howard noticed Ethan Sterling’s displeasure on his face, knowing his patience was running low, so he loudly commanded: "You have ten minutes to act. If you can’t, I’ve prepared so good things for you to try as well."
Now, the won, despite being frightened, dare not hesitate anymore.
A woman with a cunning look stepped forward disdainfully, "What’s so hard about this." She yanked the towel out with a few quick tugs, before she opened her mouth, she pinched it shut, "Miss Sullivan, you tricked us first back then, now, you can’t let us servants take the fall for you, sorry about this."
Another quickly poured the contents into her mouth, not caring whether Rhonda Sullivan drank or choked.
Expecting it to be over after one kettle, but unexpectedly, there were still nine full kettles waiting.
Before they finished pouring, blood began dripping from Rhonda Sullivan below, the last thing she saw before losing consciousness was Ethan Sterling’s face still holding only indifference.
In the evening, Ethan Sterling received a phone call from Howard.
"She’s been thoroughly handled at the hospital, once she wakes up, she will imdiately be sent to Hospital 404."
"Okay." Ethan Sterling replied with this, then hung up the phone.
Rhonda Sullivan has been by his side for too long, perhaps forgetting that when he’s cold-blooded, there’s no trace of humanity at all.
Hospital 404, is a famous psychiatric hospital in Ariston, those who go in usually don’t co out well.
After running about for over ten hours, Ruby Sullivan finally arrived at the new ho with her children.
Previously when Ruby Sullivan and Ethan Sterling were in ridia, she had t Jessica a few tis, Jessica was the head of The Sterling Group’s office there, and said they could contact her anyti for assistance before leaving.
Ruby Sullivan assud Jessica didn’t know about her divorce, treating her words as re pleasantries, completely unaware that these were arranged by Ethan Sterling on purpose.
She prepared a simple al for the children, the family of three showered comfortably, then each picked a room they liked, going to sleep deeply to overco jet lag.
Ruby Sullivan rested for three whole days, and after briefly understanding the surroundings, she decided to ask Howard to find a reliable servant. Howard was efficient and soon arranged for a trial service at ho.
