Although many of the guests at the party were friends invited by Naomi Sinclair, there were even more suitable young n who were brought by Aidan Sinclair or Old Sinclair, hoping to get to know her. If a relationship could blossom, that would be best; if not, even a proper romance would be good.
Princess Sinclair’s reputation preceded her, and both her father and her half-brother were well aware but didn’t know how to communicate with her. Given that she was pampered like a princess from a young age, controlling her was out of the question. For her safety, this was the only viable thod.
So many people at the event had their eyes on Naomi Sinclair like spotlights focused on her.
The latest gossip suggested that she was getting close to the young Sect Leader of The Sterling Family. Hence, when everyone saw her chatting and laughing with Ethan Sterling’s wife, they were puzzled and eager for so juicy details.
Observing all this was Rhonda Sullivan. Dr. L was Naomi Sinclair’s big brother and Aidan Sinclair’s friend. Upon hearing about Ethan Sterling and Naomi Sinclair, Rhonda begged Dr. L to bring her along. Witnessing this scene left her slightly dumbfounded.
Seeing Dr. L free, she leaned over and whispered, "Dr. L, does Wenny know Naomi Sinclair?"
Dr. L also glanced over there and smiled, "Not sure." However, he was aware of that woman’s social skills. When they attended a friend’s wedding together, she managed to get on the floor and clap and dance within minutes of chatting.
Rhonda Sullivan bit her lower lip and walked over to where Ethan Sterling was chatting with soone at the edge of the venue.
Ruby Sullivan hadn’t noticed her yet; she was still figuring out how to stop Naomi Sinclair from opening the gift right there. Although confident about her gift, it seed a bit inappropriate for a party like this.
Naomi Sinclair raised an eyebrow, "Wenny, you’re not chickening out, are you?"
"I’m just afraid it will go to waste." She responded earnestly.
"Ah, I don’t care." Naomi Sinclair couldn’t hold back and imdiately tore open the gift boldly.
Inside the white box was a huge glass food container. To prevent the sll from escaping, Ruby Sullivan had sealed it with cling film, but one could vaguely see what was inside.
She observed Naomi Sinclair’s expression, a bit apprehensive. Securing Naomi Sinclair’s friendship seed to hinge on this mont.
"Braised pork belly!" Naomi Sinclair exclaid in surprise, her voice slightly loud, which drew more eyes.
Of course, these guests, who were wide-eyed, all doubted their ears. Ethan Sterling’s wife, Dr. L’s protégé, surely soone qualified to be here, how could she be gifting braised pork belly as a birthday present?
Ruby Sullivan, feeling her scrutiny, grew nervous, "Don’t like it?"
Based on Naomi Sinclair’s posts showcasing food across her various social dia platforms, she deduced that she’d like braised pork belly. Confident in her own cooking skills, she decided to use it as a birthday gift.
At that mont, a friend who overheard her exclaid ca over, verified it was indeed braised pork belly, and imdiately laughed, "Naomi Sinclair, just laugh out loud; don’t hold it in. Isn’t braised pork belly your favorite?"
Naomi Sinclair balanced her foot on her friend’s shoulder, excitedly patting and saying, "Yeah, co on, tell , are you Wenny’s mole planted by my side?"
The friend’s eyes were glued to the braised pork belly, pulling her hand off disdainfully, "Hurry and eat; the color looks great." With that, she quickly asked the waiter to bring chopsticks over.
Realizing her manners, she sheepishly smiled at Ruby Sullivan, "Hi, I’m Dina Finn, her friend." She nodded toward Naomi Sinclair.
Dina Finn wore ripped jeans and a white shirt, her hair cropped into a chic buzz cut. She was a big-eyed beauty with a touch of boyish charm.
"Her full na is Lila Finn." Naomi Sinclair added mischievously, earning a glare from Dina Finn, who imdiately looked up at the ceiling, pretending she didn’t say anything.
Ruby Sullivan smiled, "I’m Wenny, full na Ruby Sullivan."
Dina Finn was unfazed, "I know you; you were on the entertainnt headlines for quite a while."
Ruby Sullivan showed a hint of helplessness, thinking, she is indeed Naomi Sinclair’s friend.
The waiter quickly brought over chopsticks, plates, and a stool. Looking like a little princess, Naomi Sinclair started devouring the braised pork belly with Dina Finn, praising it as she ate.
"Wenny, did you order this from a restaurant, or did your cook make it? It’s way too delicious."
"Hmm, the price must surely be over five hundred." Dina Finn nodded in agreent.
"Don’t mind her; she runs a restaurant, always thinking about pricing."
Ruby Sullivan ntally noted, guessing it wasn’t just any small restaurant.
"I made it myself."
"Ah!" Naomi Sinclair suddenly looked woeful, "What am I going to do if I want to eat more? Can I go to your place?"
Ruby Sullivan laughed, "If you’re willing, I can co to your place too."
Naomi Sinclair looked even glumr, "No way, you’re too good, don’t stay with Ethan Sterling, stay with instead."
Dina Finn almost spat out her food, "Have so sha, will you? Yesterday you were so sure about going after soone else’s man, and a bowl of braised pork belly managed to turn you around."
Ruby Sullivan’s gaze beca sharp. Turns out, this Dina Finn wasn’t carefree; it was just that she ca from a good family, giving her the confidence to speak her mind without fear of offending anyone. Her words might very well have been planned with Naomi Sinclair to say in front of her.
So when Naomi Sinclair heard her say that, she didn’t feel it was inappropriate but naturally replied, "Yeah, now I’m really torn."
Ruby Sullivan smiled lightly, looking not the least bit angry, "Forget about Ethan Sterling; even if he can bear losing , his stomach can’t bear losing . Excuse ."
She figured, having possibly cut off Ethan Sterling’s path, she should let him know. However, after searching for a while, she couldn’t find him. The venue was large, with many people, so she figured she’d wander around a bit to look.
Naomi Sinclair tilted her head, gave her a side glance, and snickered, "She’s angry."
Dina Finn glanced at her, put down her chopsticks, "I’m leaving too, don’t like this kind of scene. The at’s really good; wonder if she’d sell the recipe."
"I’ll ask for you." Naomi Sinclair also put down her chopsticks. However, she looked at the remaining pieces of pork belly with so reluctance, instructing the waiter to seal it and store it in the fridge, planning to take it with her when she leaves.
Ruby Sullivan circled the venue but still didn’t see Ethan Sterling. Instead, she was intercepted by Dr. L.
To his protégé, he preferred speaking Italian, "Long ti no see."
She opened her fingers and counted, "It’s only been a few days."
"Did you see the email I sent you?"
"Yes." Ruby Sullivan didn’t know what he was about to say, but she had a feeling it wouldn’t be sothing she wanted to hear.
"I heard Ethan Sterling’s bone marrow isn’t usable. Are you planning to stay by his side?"
"For now, yes," Ruby Sullivan thought for a mont, then said, "At least, I don’t plan to leave now." He’s Honey’s father. Even if they can’t keep Honey in the end, she hopes the last monts in their mory aren’t flawed.
Dr. L nodded, "Accompany to the terrace for a while; I hear the view outside is nice."
Ruby Sullivan hesitated. She hadn’t found Ethan Sterling and worried he might not be able to find her later.
Dr. L smiled, "If you’re unwilling, forget it." With that, he put down his wine and headed to the terrace by himself.
Ruby Sullivan frowned slightly and quickly followed, joking, "I wouldn’t want you issuing a statent tomorrow to expel from the sect."
The terrace, surrounded by corridors, was furnished with coffee tables. However, most guests at the party weren’t in the mood to sit there, so it was mostly empty, with only a few tables occupied by people chatting.
At one of the tables was none other than the person Ruby Sullivan had been searching for—Ethan Sterling.
