Ethan Sterling symbolically asked Ruby Sullivan’s opinion, guessing her answer would be no objection, and called for a driver to take them back to the hotel.
The suite they booked had a swimming pool, and having been here for a few days without using it, Ruby Sullivan felt that recently besides eating and drinking, all she did was sleep. She was worried that her body, which puts on weight even with water, would suddenly balloon, so she changed into a swimsuit to swim a few laps as exercise.
Ethan Sterling, however, held her back, "I have so things I want to discuss with you."
Ruby Sullivan knew that he had been suppressing his anger, so upon hearing this, she wasn’t too surprised and nodded, sitting on the sofa. "Go ahead."
"Do you want a divorce?"
Ruby Sullivan was stunned, staring into his eyes, realizing she hadn’t misheard. His voice was very calm, not angry, not threatening, rely negotiating, or rather, seed to be seeking her opinion, as if it was sothing only she could decide, and whatever her decision, he would agree.
"What’s going on with you?" She was a bit bewildered.
Ethan Sterling smiled, "No matter who wants to take you away, or whom you want to go with, I wouldn’t let you go, but if the person is Leon, I... I don’t know if I can still be selfish."
Back then, marrying her in such a forceful way, he didn’t know how to face his brother. He thought Leon Sterling wanted to take away sothing from him to compensate for childhood traumas, but today, he carefully observed the way Leon looked at her. It was genuine affection; Leon seed to glow when looking at her.
He owed his brother too much. If Ruby Sullivan would be truly happier with him, no matter the pressure, he wanted to let go.
He had already missed too much and didn’t want to continue making mistakes.
It was the first ti Ruby Sullivan saw him like this, not confident. Seeing him in such a dejected state because of her, she felt a bit moved, a bit... heartache, and a hint of disappointnt.
The situation was like soone putting a brother and a woman in front of him to choose, and after a painful decision, he still chose the forr.
"No one wants to take away, and I’m not planning to leave with anyone." She crossed her legs, wrapped her arms, and looked at him with a proud posture, "Mr. Sterling, you’ve spent so much money on , are you planning to give to your brother now?"
Ethan Sterling wasn’t in the mood to joke with her, at the mont, like a wounded young man filled with fervor, he couldn’t guess a girl’s mind and looked perplexed, "Are you sure?"
Ruby Sullivan squinted, "Why didn’t you, considering your brotherly love, let go before the marriage?"
Ethan Sterling turned his head, unwilling to speak with her, angrily raised his hand, and embraced her shoulders, "If I didn’t force you then, wouldn’t you have been chased away by Leon Sterling?" That kid didn’t even care for his life; he was really desperate.
Looking at him, Ruby Sullivan once again found Big Boss Sterling a bit adorable, couldn’t help but reach out and poke his cheek, "Can I go swimming now? Hmm, hmm?"
Ethan Sterling was annoyed by her poking, grabbed her hand suddenly, and without letting her cause any more trouble, smiled and covered her mouth with his lips.
It wasn’t that he couldn’t back down due to brotherly love, but the premise must be that she and Leon Sterling genuinely loved each other.
While the two were entangled on the sofa, Ethan Sterling’s phone rang. He didn’t want to answer it, but the ringtone kept ringing again and again, as if not stopping until he picked up.
Finally, the ringtone made Ruby Sullivan lose all interest, and she forcibly pushed him away, "I want to go swimming." She said, her face flushed, eyes dazed.
Ethan Sterling reluctantly sat up, looked at the missed call displayed on the phone, but didn’t return the call imdiately.
But, in that mont of absent-mindedness, the phone rang again.
"Ethan." Rhonda Sullivan’s voice ca through the receiver.
Ethan Sterling glanced at Ruby Sullivan, knowing she saw the screen earlier, so as she was about to leave, he grabbed her wrist, pulled her back to the sofa, and pressed the speakerphone.
"What’s up?" He spoke as concisely as ever.
Rhonda Sullivan chuckled, "Nothing much. I dare not find you, right? I heard you married Ruby, congratulations."
"Thank you." Ethan Sterling tightly gripped Ruby Sullivan’s hand, not letting her go.
He knew Ruby Sullivan didn’t trust him, so he didn’t want her to guess blindly, laying everything bare in front of her.
"I don’t know if Ruby told you, but I’m pregnant. Whether you acknowledge it or not, I will have the child. I just want to tell you that Ruby Sullivan isn’t the only one in this world who will secretly have your child." Rhonda Sullivan spoke calmly, despite the sharp words, she seed to control her emotions.
Ethan Sterling didn’t expect it to be this, and imdiately sneered, "Good, you’d better have a healthy child. Honey just happens to need a blood-related marrow."
Rhonda Sullivan suddenly went silent, seemingly provoked by Ethan Sterling’s words, she spoke after a while, "Ethan Sterling, where exactly am I inferior to that woman, why don’t you love ?"
"What man would keep a venomous-hearted woman by his side?"
"Fine, then I wish you happiness!" Rhonda Sullivan said and hung up the phone, sobbing on the other side, making a decision in her heart.
Ethan Sterling looked at the dimd phone screen, his expression sowhat unpleasant, feeling Ruby Sullivan was about to leave, he exerted more strength to hold her back again, "Are you upset?"
Ruby Sullivan coldly smiled, "I just want to swim."
Ethan Sterling exhaled, "I didn’t know she was pregnant."
"I told you."
"I thought..."
Ruby Sullivan shook off his hand, coldly saying, "The issue is not whether she is pregnant."
Ethan Sterling was speechless for a mont.
He wanted to tell her that he was set up by his grandma that day, he didn’t even know what happened, but he felt she wouldn’t believe it; who would believe a grown man was drugged by his grandma and then taken advantage of by a woman?
Even he couldn’t bring himself to say it.
Ethan Sterling felt so frustrated he wanted to cough up blood, sitting by the window, watching Ruby Sullivan swim lap after lap in the pool, refusing to co up, he was afraid she’d have an accident, so he changed into swimwear and went out to fool around with her. If they got sick, they’d get sick together.
The next afternoon, Ethan Sterling and Ruby Sullivan had no choice but to return to their country early.
The Lawson Group held a press conference, announcing the appointnt of Rhonda Sullivan as the ambassador for the Celestian Region, officially entering the Celestian Market.
At the press conference, Rhonda Sullivan directly challenged The Sterling Group, a leading enterprise in the dostic light luxury industry, declaring that it was a grave mistake to rely on a good perfur while abandoning a great strategist.
For a while, the entanglents between The Sullivan sisters and the heads of The Sterling Group were brought back to the entertainnt headlines, giving the gossip enthusiasts sothing to enjoy again, believing that rich people really knew how to play.
