Chronicles of the Godslayer of Shadows Chapter 9 - Nine

Adrien and Fenrik had resud their exploration after a few days of resting for adrien to recover. During that ti, he had learnt a few things about his system and a type of energy called primordial essence.

It was a type of energy which was discovered to allow a being the opportunity based on their potential to absorb it into the body to enhance it and unlock the path to divinity. It existed in the environnt in many forms, the most common being fire, water, wind and light essence.

Almost everything contained a specific type of essence in the environnt, including beasts. In their world, there were normal beasts and evolved besasts. Each living being had the potential to absorb essence. Once the beasts had crossed a threshold, they would evolve to accommodate more essence and also utilize it.

So, a power system had been set up to determine the difference and power level of beings which had been accepted as the world power system. There were various stages of power and evolutions which had been grouped into ranks. F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS and Ex tier were the ranks set up to determine the power class of individuals.

There was also the essence ranks which determined how close a being was to stepping into divinity. Artifacts and beasts also started following the sa power system. So far the strongest rank of beasts he had fought were F tier. He had no idea the strength boosts between ranks and was wary of them.

Adrien then spotted a horned rabbit and sprinting towards it, he confronts it and waited for it to attack. The beast hopped straight towards adien, it’s horn pointed. Adrien then used the shadow dagger he held’s skill. He suddenly sunk through the shadows beneath his feet and rose from behind the beast and drove his dagger through the beast’s head.

"It seems that the more knowledge I gain, the more detail I can get from analysis." Adrien mused as he used his dagger to cut open the rabbit’s chest and pull out a brown core the size of a pebble.

Adrien turned around to see a hazy but large figure or figures approaching him and Fenrik.

"Adrien, can you co over here?" Fenrik called out to him. A slight smile was on his face as he called.
