After a week, Qin Xi brought back a telegram from Jigu Commune which brought joy to everyone. Qin Shouren’s household registration had been transferred, and his job had been secured. The telegram concluded with instructions for his son to wait for a letter.

Half a month later, a large package arrived.

Qin Xi happened to go to Grandpa Li’s house to help pick up the grains and so oil, salt, sauce, and vinegar that Mr. Lan had helped to collect, and brought the package back as well.

Upon returning, the package was opened directly on the warm brick bed of Grandpa Li’s house.

First, there was a letter inside, which Qin Xi quickly flipped through, while Li Xianglu stared blankly at a packet of pastries inside the package — they were even in a paper box, which looked very sophisticated.

After reading the letter, Qin Xi looked upset, but he took a deep breath. Seeing Li Xianglu’s shining eyes, he imdiately lost all his bad moods and smiled as he opened the box first offering a piece to Mr. Li nearby, then to his brother Qin Zhen, and gave the rest of the entire box to Li Xianglu, saying, "These are all for you, take good care of them."

Li Xianglu blinked, realizing it was all for her. She glanced at Qin Zhen, who was eagerly watching, then quickly hugged the box of pastries and returned to her own cave dwelling.

At noon, both young boys of the Qin Family ca over to eat. Li Xianglu used the pork she bought to make Saozi, and made Saozi Noodles with a large lump of dough. Today was Saturday, and Li Jianqing would co back in the afternoon; Li Xianglu made extra, planning to leave a bowl for her third brother.

Eating the delicious Saozi Noodles, Qin Zhen’s obsession with the pastries quickly waned. The pastries were for the girl, but the Saozi Noodles were tastier.

Qin Zhen was sowhat speechless, as the package contained several pieces of cloth. In the afternoon, he planned to take his brother to tailor Xue to have clothes made for both his brother and himself. Qin Zhen was going to a high school in the county in September and needed clothes. The letter also contained nationwide at tickets, a bicycle voucher, and several industrial coupons, which he planned to use to buy a bicycle.

After lunch, Qin Zhen was sent back to sleep, while Qin Xi started talking about the contents of the letter in the kitchen.

It was quite thrilling; right after Qin Shouren arrived in the capital and just finished processing his household registration, he saw his dusty elder brother return to their father.

But everything settled down eventually. Yet, seeing the hesitant expression on his old father’s face startled Qin Shouren. If he hadn’t proceeded as his son advised, perhaps his father would have been persuaded by his elder brother, and the possibility he had secured could have been forcibly taken away.

It didn’t matter to him, but what about the children.

Qin Shouhan said he was unwell and was not leaving for now, while Qin Shouren thodically applied for accommodation and then started his job.

The money inside the envelope was from Mr. Li for his two grandsons, hoping to improve their living conditions, but it wasn’t just for them; Qin Shouhan got the larger share.

However, these were minor things.

Mr. Li sighed after hearing it; the eldest of the Qin Family was so cunning, having imdiately returned to the capital not caring about to whom the opportunity was given. Qin Shouren had just processed the move out and hadn’t moved back yet, aning anything could happen. Fortunately, a skeptical remark from Xiang saved Qin Xi by making him vigilant.

Everything was still manageable.

However, Li Xianglu felt like she was in a movie, so thrilling. They were real brothers, why fret over these issues?

anwhile, in a cave dwelling in Jishui Team, a middle-aged man was holding a young girl, who cried incessantly, her shoulders heaving.

This young girl is Qin Miao, who had just received a package from her father.

Of course, there was also a letter, inside the envelope were a lot of tickets and money, along with a hugely disappointing piece of news.

It was that her father couldn’t make it in ti. By the ti he arrived, her uncle had already gotten there and had successfully settled down – even though he had already convinced Grandpa, and everything was set in stone. In the letter, her father encouraged her, saying she had done the right thing and had helped her father a lot.

These words from her father made Qin Miao feel extrely upset. The quota to return to the city was incredibly rare at this ti. How could it have fallen into her uncle’s hands?

Her father’s mother had died because of the mistress in her uncle’s family. Now her uncle was back to harm their whole family again! She couldn’t let them have it easy!

The man’s hand, which was wrapped around the girl, began to move up and down involuntarily. The girl suppressed a cry of ’ah’, and the man’s hand beca even more agitated and couldn’t stop himself from carrying the girl towards the cave dwelling.

But Qin Miao grabbed the man’s hand, extrely disappointed, "Ah Ke, didn’t you promise to help ? How can you do this?"

The man spoke sowhat helplessly, "I already had my father talk about it, and they were almost agreeing, but suddenly a leader above found your grandpa and had a talk, then your grandpa refused to budge."

Qin Miao looked disdainful, it’s not that you aren’t capable, yet now you still dare to touch , her eyes twinkling as the corners of her mouth lifted in a smile, lightly pushing away the man’s hand, she innocently asked, "Ah Ke, when are you going to divorce that old wife and marry ?"

The man, upon hearing this, saw his excitent instantly shattered, his pride diminished.

He said in disbelief, "Miao Miao, what are you talking about? Didn’t we agree that we were just..."

Qin Miao’s voice was chilly as if from hell, "What? Just pretend siblings?"

The man shivered, his expression turning ugly. Their relationship had always been consensual, why is she now asking him to divorce and marry her? Although he was willing, as she was a young lady and marrying her wouldn’t be bad, his wife at ho was not soone he could provoke, and his future was far more important!

The man turned his head angrily, thinking to leave. This girl needs to calm down, he can’t always indulge her like this.

Qin Miao watched the departing man coldly, her voice frosty, "Pretend brother, I am pregnant."

The man’s term of endearnt did not soften him as usual; instead, it felt like he had fallen into an ice cellar, his entire body chilled.

He turned back unbelievingly, "How is that possible, weren’t we always careful?"

Qin Miao chuckled, stepped forward, gently adjusted the man’s shirt collar, and after a long pause, said, "You don’t believe it?" Her eyes narrowed with a cold gleam.

The man didn’t feel any tenderness at all; instead, he felt as if he was being stared at by a venomous snake, fiercely fixed on him as if ready to bite at any mont.

Qin Miao seed to sense the man’s panic, smiled and patted the non-existent dust off his shoulder, saying cheerfully, "Pretend brother doesn’t believe it? Well, when the child is born, let’s go to the hospital for a test, and then I’ll hold the child and go to the police to report you for rape!"

The man shuddered upon hearing this, his eyes wide open, his face in utter disbelief.
