It was already two o’clock, and right after Li Xianglu hung up the phone, she heard so rustling sounds. Soon, Mr. Li ca out from behind the door, looking sowhat tired, and asked, "What happened?"

Li Xianglu didn’t dare to conceal anything and directly recounted what Lu Anna had said: Li Jianqing had broken his leg.

Mr. Li frowned and asked, "Which hospital was he taken to?"

Li Xianglu reported the na of the hospital. After a mont of contemplation, Su Yan also ca out, wrapped in a coat and yawning hugely, "I’ll have soone send you there."

Li Xianglu hesitated for a mont, knowing that the car was supposed to take Su Yan to Shanghai during the day and didn’t want to cause any delay.

Seeing Li Xianglu’s hesitation, Su Yan shook her head and said, "I plan to leave in the afternoon. I didn’t sleep well last night and feel too uncomfortable to travel now."

Just as Li Xianglu agreed, she heard the sound of a bell ringing at the door. She hurriedly got up to welco the visitor. It was Qin Xi returning. Li Xianglu quickly explained the situation to her.

Upon hearing the news, Qin Xi frowned and asked, "How did Jianqing manage to break his leg?"

Li Xianglu shook her head. At this point, Su Yan had already called for a car. Li Xianglu hurried to the kitchen to grab a dozen tea-soaked eggs and put them into a basin, while Qin Xi went to fetch Jianqing’s change of clothes and a washbasin from the back room.

As soon as everything was ready, the car arrived. The two of them had Mr. Li lock the door from inside before they left.

They were taken directly to the military hospital. Upon arriving, they inquired at the duty office downstairs and then went straight to the operating room.

At the entrance of the operating room, Li Xianglu saw four people waiting there: Iro’s brother Ai Xin, Iro herself, Anna, and Qin Zhen.

Li Xianglu approached and saw Anna drowsily leaning on Qin Zhen’s shoulder, sleeping. Qin Zhen tilted his body to make it more comfortable for the person leaning against him.

Opposite them, Iro and her brother Ai Xin were sitting together. Iro’s swollen lips were treated with red dicine, and her forehead was injured. The exposed arms and knees were covered with wounds. However, she sat there, staring eagerly at the door of the operating room, oblivious to their arrival.

Ai Xin patted his sister and then stood up saying, "It’s been an hour since he was taken in. They just said the bone has been set, and after applying the plaster, he should be out soon."

Li Xianglu nodded. At this mont, Iro turned around and faced her. The injuries on Iro’s face appeared even more horrific, her eyes swollen and clearly showing she had been hit.

Iro tried to speak when she saw Li Xianglu, but Li Xianglu addressed Ai Xin first, "Take Iro to the ward to rest first. I’ll wait here; he should be out soon."

Ai Xin sighed looking at his sister; he had said these words a hundred tis, but his sister seed different nowadays, stubbornly unyielding, she just sheds tears silently without responding which left him utterly frustrated.

After Li Xianglu finished speaking, Iro nodded and said, "Alright, I’ll go to the ward first." Hearing this, Ai Xin, overwheld with relief, quickly escorted his sister to the ward. It was then that Li Xianglu noticed that Iro’s foot seed to be sprained.

After Li Xianglu and Qin Xi sat down, Anna woke up, rubbed her eyes, noticed the two sitting across from her, her face turned red, and she glared at Qin Zhen.

Qin Zhen, feeling unjustly treated, said, "You didn’t say I needed to wake you when my brother and others arrived."

Lu Anna was absolutely furious, how could this blockhead confuse his father and Brother Qin!

Li Xianglu, unable to joke around at this mont, asked seriously: "How did my third brother get injured?"

Lu Anna sighed and said, "We split into groups to search. At that ti, your third brother and Iro’s younger brother were together. Sohow the two got separated, and after a little more than an hour, Iro and her brother showed up on a trail. I just asked Iro, and she said she was locked in a cabin at the foot of the West Mountain, watched by soone. It would have been bad if we arrived any later."

Lu Anna spoke in a very implicit way, Li Xianglu frowned and asked, "Did my brother get into a fight with that man?" A fight shouldn’t result in a broken leg.

Lu Anna shook her head, "I don’t know the details. That man has been arrested and taken for interrogation. Fortunately, your third brother just has a fractured shin. With proper rest, it shouldn’t be a big problem."

Li Xianglu nodded, took out the basin of eggs, and placed it aside, "Hungry? Have so eggs to fill you up."

Lu Anna and Qin Zhen were already hungry. They had been searching all day, and ran out of energy from lunch, so they started eating the eggs.

Qin Zhen had previously tasted Li Xianglu’s tea-flavored marinated eggs, so finding the unique savory flavor, he simply raised his eyebrows, enjoying it as usual. Anna, however, was eating this for the first ti. She ate four eggs straight before stopping, continuously praising how delicious they were.

Right at this mont, the lights in the operating room ca on. Two minutes later, the door was opened, and a nurse pushed out a bed with Li Jianqing lying on it, his left leg suspended high, followed by a doctor.

Qin Xi hurriedly went forward to ask about the situation. The doctor removed his mask and said, "The surgery went very well. Take good care of it, and he should be discharged in two weeks."

Everyone sighed in relief at this news. Li Jianqing was still quite groggy, only waking up for a bit when being transferred to another bed in the ward. Li Xianglu hurried over to ask, and when she heard he was alright, she relaxed.

anwhile, Iro was also in the ward, but she hadn’t rested at all and seed to be waiting persistently. Seeing people co back, she didn’t dare to approach, instead just standing far away, crying.

Li Xianglu didn’t know exactly what had happened; Iro seed different from usual. By the ti everything had settled, it was already past four.

Anna and Qin Zhen went straight back to the Lu Family’s ho to sleep. Iro, needing to be observed in the hospital for a day, stayed in the room next door. Ai Xin, who drove, took Anna and Qin Zhen back, saying a housekeeper would deliver als at eight.

Seeing this, Qin Xi took Li Xianglu and left as well. It was not a good ti to go ho, so they simply stayed at the military garrison’s guesthouse opposite the hospital.

Now that the two were married, the guesthouse wasn’t as strict as before. They just needed to register their student ID and residential proof and were given a separate room.

Li Xianglu was extrely tired. She took out two bottles of milk, placed them on the table, took off her shoes, and went to sleep. Qin Xi brought in hot water, glanced at the milk that suddenly appeared, said nothing, washed a towel, helped wipe her hands and face, and washed her feet before taking the water out.

Li Xianglu opened the milk bottle and began drinking. This was the milk she had ordered earlier, bottles of sheep milk, which were particularly well-absorbed, so she secretly ordered fifty bottles to stock up, ready for consumption anyti.

Qin Xi, having cleaned up, also sat on the bed drinking milk. After finishing, both of them lay down.

Li Xianglu shared her puzzlents. Qin Xi then said, "We should have an answer tomorrow. You should sleep now."

Li Xianglu pursed her lips, realized she hadn’t brushed her teeth, so she got up to rinse her mouth before going to bed.
