Chenchen had lost patience with them, and coldly asked, "Tell , who exactly hired you to kill ?"

"Tell you? Ha! Impossible!"

The five remained defiant, holding their heads high.

"Leihu." Chenchen imdiately shot a look at Leihu.

Leihu understood at once, and stepped forward with a few people, then removed the shoes from the five assassins.

"Hey, hey, hey, what, what do you want to do?"

The five originally thought they were facing the Fryer Butchers, but now that they were just having their shoes taken off, such an unexpected move startled the five assassins imnsely.

"Do what?" Leihu suddenly grinned wickedly, pulling out a few feathers as if by magic from behind his back, "Soon, you’ll know what I’m about to do!"

With that, he pinched their noses and the feathers brushed across the soles of their feet.

"Hahaha... Ahhh... Hahaha..."

"No... let go... stop tickling..."

"Hahaha... can’t take it anymore..."

Thus, the tone of the interrogation room suddenly beca indescribable.

"Please, stop tickling, or try another way of questioning... but we really don’t know..."

"That’s right... we really don’t know... we’re just small fries... no way do we have access to the employer’s information."

"Then who knows?" Leihu snorted coldly.

The five said, "Only our boss knows."

Leihu didn’t believe them, continuing to tickle them with the feathers, "Lie again, and I’ll make you the first assassins in history to laugh to death!"

"No... what we said is the truth... the truth!"

"Alright, stop." Chenchen raised his hand to halt Leihu, "They’re telling the truth."

He had already discerned it from their facial expressions earlier.

"Then what do we do with them?"

Chenchen said coldly, "Hand them over to the military tribunal."

"Yes, chief!" Leihu nodded.

After sending the people away, Leihu glanced at Chenchen, sighing slightly, "Chief, what do you plan to do next?"

"Have a little chat with their boss."

"!!!"

Seeing him so calm, a cold sweat broke out on Leihu’s back.

Their boss was notorious, and yet he spoke of it so casually.

"Chief, I’ll go with you!"

"No need, you’ll just get in the way." Chenchen shot him a glance, expressionless as he refused.

Leihu was montarily speechless.

In the ti that followed, Chenchen began devising a plan.

After a series of difficult investigations, Chenchen finally discovered who the employer was—

The consort of the Queen of Country A.

Chenchen couldn’t help but furrow his brow.

Logically, he had never offended them, and there was no reason for them to spend a fortune over the years to take his life.

Chenchen simply couldn’t understand it.

Until...

Li Zijue was in a car accident and needed a large amount of blood transfusion.

He had RH negative blood, rare and limited in supply at blood banks, not nearly enough for his needs.

"I’ll do it."

Chenchen volunteered to donate blood.

"Follow quickly." The nurse hurriedly took him by the hand.

Before drawing blood, there would be a blood test, which included blood type screening.

"Li Xingchen, you’re type A blood, you can’t donate." The testing doctor handed him the results with a trace of gossip.

Upon seeing the report, disbelief flashed in Li Xingchen’s eyes.

How could this be...

His father had RH negative blood, his mother was type A, yet he was type B.

Doesn’t this an...

He’s not their child at all!

Li Xingchen pursed his lips into a straight line, seemingly unable to accept the news akin to a bolt from the blue.
