“What? Twins?” Hearing this, Gu’s mother was so excited that she almost jumped up and quickly snatched the ultrasound report.
When she confird there were indeed two gestational sacs on it, she spun around in joy on the spot, and then pulled out her phone, “I must rush to share this exciting news with our friends and relatives.”
After speaking, she, fearing that the phone’s radiation might affect the babies in ngng’s belly, hurried outside to make the call.
Gu Zhihan, however, was still frowning.
“Kid, your wife is having twins, how co you don’t look happy at all?”
Gu’s father couldn’t help but step forward and pat his shoulder.
“How can I be happy when ngng is like this just because of those two little rascals in her belly?” Gu Zhihan said with a tense face.
If he had known that children would make ngng end up like this, he would rather not have them at all.
Gu’s father broke into a sweat, “Don’t worry, ngng is fine; she’ll probably wake up in a while.”
“Mhm.” Gu Zhihan nodded, but his gaze remained fixed on ngng, as if trying to imprint her entire being into his eyes.
About an hour later, ngng finally woke up.
She yawned and frowned, asking groggily, “Gu Zhihan, why does our house sll so strongly of disinfectant?”
It was as if she was in a hospital at that mont.
Gu Zhihan sat beside her and, with a laugh, teasingly scraped her nose with his finger, “Silly girl, we are in a hospital right now.”
“Ah?” Hearing this, ngng’s sleepiness instantly disappeared. She looked around with disbelief in her wide-open eyes, and when she saw that she really was in a hospital, her mouth dropped open. “Why am I in the hospital?”
She clearly rembered that she had been sleeping at ho.
“Did I catch so disease?” ngng couldn’t help but let her imagination run wild.
If it wasn’t an illness, how could she have mysteriously ended up in a hospital from her ho!
Gu Zhihan said with a smile, “You’re not sick; you just have two extra pieces of flesh in your body.”
“What? If there’s sothing growing inside, how can you say I’m not sick?” ngng yelled at him before starting to cry, “Wuwuwu… What exactly is growing inside ? Am I going to die?”
Gu Zhihan had only ant to joke with her, but he hadn’t expected her not only to miss the point but even to think her days were numbered, leaving him feeling helpless and guilty.
“Don’t cry, don’t cry, you’re really fine. When I said you have flesh growing inside you, I ant that you’re pregnant!” Gu Zhihan said while wiping the tears from her cheeks, as he tried to clarify the situation.
“What?!”
Upon hearing this, ngng was stunned and looked at him as if he was joking.
“It’s true.” Gu Zhihan couldn’t help but rub her soft cheek.
After being reassured several tis, ngng finally believed it and couldn’t help but swallow hard, asking, “But haven’t we always been careful?”
How could she have beco pregnant out of the blue?
“Don’t you rember? There was one ti we weren’t careful,” Gu Zhihan whispered in ngng’s ear.
ngng thought for a mont, then suddenly realized and looked extrely dejected, “Just that one ti and I hit the jackpot?”
“Mhm… And you got two at once, too. How about that, don’t you think your husband is especially amazing?” Gu Zhihan teased.
