Chapter 469: Chapter 469: Life and Death Together
Imdiately afterward, Gu’s father watched the boy skillfully give Luo ngng the injection.
His adept movents looked even more practiced than those of nurses with over a decade of experience.
His eyes suddenly widened…
Are the relatives of patients these days so badass?
“Gu Zhihan, you can actually give injections?” Luo ngng was also astonished, her clear eyes wide open.
Gu Zhihan, looking at her cute little expression, couldn’t resist pinching her, “It’s a simple task, not like so people who have been doctors for years and still can’t give a proper injection.”
As he spoke, he cast an annoyed glance at Gu’s father.
Look at that scar on ngng’s hand, could that be the work of an experienced doctor?
Gu’s father’s face darkened further, “I was thinking about sothing just now, that’s why I got distracted.”
He had been unsure how to answer ngng’s question, and had montarily lost focus.
“Gu Zhihan, stop blaming godfather,” Luo ngng took Gu’s father’s side and then repeated her question, “Godfather, you still haven’t told how long I have left to live.”
Gu’s father looked into her eyes that held despair yet strained to smile, feeling as though a large hand was squeezing his heart, he took a breath and said, “ngng, promise godfather not to think about that for now, okay? Just focus on getting the treatnt.”
“Believe that the country will certainly develop a specific vaccine!”
“Mm, alright!”
Luo ngng forced a smile and nodded her head.
Then she urged Gu Zhihan, “You go out and get tested for the S virus to see if you’ve been infected too.”
“Then wait for ,” Gu Zhihan said as he stood up, wanting to know if he was infected as well.
If he was infected, that was fine. If not, he would find a way to get himself infected.
Fortunately, Luo ngng and Gu’s father did not know his true thoughts, or they would certainly have kicked him out.
Seeing him listen for once, Luo ngng showed a relieved smile like that of an old mother and urged, “Go, hurry.”
“Mm.”
After he and Gu’s father left, the forced smile on Luo ngng’s face slowly faded away.
She buried herself in the blankets, clutching the edges as she bit her lip, tears falling incessantly from her eyes, from one end of the bridge of her nose to the other.
How did she manage to catch the flu…
Was it because she had lived too happily in this life that the heavens were envious?
“Wu wu wu…”
The more she thought about her impending death, the deeper Luo ngng’s sorrow beca, and her crying grew louder.
Before long, the door to the hospital room opened, and Gu Zhihan rushed in urgently, “Why are you crying again? Are you in a lot of pain?”
He half-kneeled in front of her bed, his handso face filled with anxiety and helplessness.
“No, it’s not that, I just don’t want to die, I don’t want to leave you…” Luo ngng sobbed, her feverish cheeks adorned with glistening tears.
“I will not let you leave .”
Gu Zhihan once more hugged her tightly, his actions conveying to her that no matter whether she lived or died, he would stay by her side.
If she lived, he would live.
If she died, he would follow.
Moved to tears, Luo ngng took a gentle breath and continued to ask, “Did your test results co out? How is it?”
“They ca out, I’m not infected…” Gu Zhihan answered while holding her.
“Then why are you still holding ? Please don’t stay so close, get out quickly, otherwise, you’ll get infected!” Upon hearing his words, Luo ngng felt a mixture of sadness and joy.
Joy that he was safe.
Sadness that she was going to die.
They would soon be parted by life and death.
