Chapter 29: Chapter 29: Going to Elentary School Together
The kindergarten graduation ceremony concluded with ngng’s recent spirited confession.
The second day of sumr vacation marked the beginning of first-grade registration.
Early in the morning, Mrs. Gu entered the bedroom, pulling open the curtains while calling the two little ones, “Gu Zhihan, ngng, get up, we need to go to school to register.”
“What? School?” ngng, still in her dreams, was instantly jolted awake by those words. She hurried out of bed, her sleepy little face staring at Mrs. Gu as she cautiously sought confirmation, fearing she had misspoken, “Stepmom, are you sure you didn’t make a mistake? Haven’t my husband and I already graduated? Why do we have to go to school again?”
“She didn’t make a mistake, you did. We only graduated from kindergarten.” Before Mrs. Gu could respond, Gu Zhihan, who had been woken up, quickly explained to her, “Next, we have to go through elentary, middle school, high school, and college…”
“Yes, that’s right.” Mrs. Gu nodded in agreent and added, “If you decide to pursue a graduate degree later, you will have to study for a few more years.”
“No way…” The more ngng listened, the more hopeless she felt, realizing she had just escaped one prison only to be heading to another, and there would still be more after that.
“Exactly how many more years do we have to study to be done with school?” ngng, on the verge of tears, asked again while counting on her fingers, trying to figure out the specific number of years, but she couldn’t co up with an answer after a long while.
Seeing her utterly clueless appearance, Gu Zhihan simply told her, “Don’t bother counting; if we just go up to college, it’s at least 12 more years.”
Twelve years…
Another twelve years in prison…
Luo ngng rolled her eyes and relentlessly rolled around the bed, “Stepmom, do I really have to go to school? I don’t like school!”
Heavens know how she endured those four years in kindergarten. Now, facing another twelve years, it felt like it was killing her!
“Absolutely not!” Mrs. Gu, who usually heeded her daughter-in-law’s wishes, didn’t even hesitate this ti and imdiately rejected her plea.
Gu Zhihan felt a bit relieved, thinking to himself that his mother was finally being rational, not letting Luo ng do as she pleased.
However, the next second, Mrs. Gu’s words almost made him burst.
“ngng, you should know there will be many little sprites at the school. If you don’t go, aren’t you afraid those little sprites outside will snatch your husband away?” Mrs. Gu stood seriously at the bedside, speaking to the restlessly rolling ngng, “By then, you won’t even have a place to cry!”
Gu Zhihan silently held his forehead, thinking it was just his youthful naivety.
“No, my husband can only be mine!” Hearing this, ngng panicked, hastily jumped out of bed, and imdiately changed her tune, “I want to go to school!”
She had to keep an eye on her handso husband and make sure no other little sprites snatched him away.

“That’s more like it…” Mrs. Gu smiled contentedly, then motioned to the two, “Now hurry up and get up; I’ll go make breakfast.”
After breakfast, Mrs. Gu took the two little ones to register at the elentary school.
According to the regulations of the education bureau, children registering for elentary school now had to take an entrance test on-site.
ngng couldn’t write a single word and sat in the examination room scratching her head. Unfortunately, Gu Zhihan was seated far away from her, unable to help her cheat in any way.
