Chapter 147: Chapter 147 It’s Good That the Person is Alright
About a month or so after returning to Grandma Luo’s house from the park, Grandma Luo received a call from ngng’s mom, “Mom, our house has been renovated. Tomorrow I’ll have the future in-laws pick up ngng and Hanhan. Rember to ntion it to them tonight.”
“Alright, sigh, I really can’t bear to part with them.” Grandma Luo couldn’t help but sigh. The thing the elderly love most is a lively atmosphere.
Mom Luo added another line, “When they have another holiday, I’ll send them over to see you again.”
“Okay, okay, okay…” Grandma Luo nodded with a smile and ended the call. Then she used a cane to walk into ngng and Gu Zhihan’s room to tell them about it.
“Going ho?” On hearing these words, ngng beca incredibly excited. She jumped and bounced on the bed, “That’s great! I can’t wait to see how the new house looks after the renovation!”
ngng was so happy that the bed trembled with her jumps.
...
Gu Zhihan stared at the bed, thinking about how it would shake on its own or creak every night, and his brows furrowed with worry, “Luo ngng, can you stop jumping on the bed? It isn’t very sturdy to begin with. If you keep jumping, it might collapse…”
No sooner had he spoken than suddenly, the bed let out a desperate “boom” and collapsed!
“Ah!!!”
ngng also scread, as she and the bed fell together.
This scene left Grandma Luo completely stunned.
Gu Zhihan paused for a mont, too. He’d only made a casual guess; he never thought it would actually co true!
But he quickly snapped out of it. With a “whoosh,” he dashed over to the bed with long strides and pulled her out of the collapsed wooden bed.
“Are you hurt?”
As he held her, Gu Zhihan asked nervously while scanning her body, fearing she had hurt herself.
ngng clutched at his shirt front, shaking her head pitifully, “I, I’m okay, it’s just that the bed seems to be in big trouble…”
As she ntioned it, her voice beca much weaker. She gave a guilty glance at the broken bed, then at Gu Zhihan, and finally at Grandma Luo.
“As long as you’re not hurt, that’s what’s important,” Gu Zhihan finally let out a sigh of relief. When his gaze fell on that disassembled bed, he too couldn’t help but find it a little funny and sad. “As for the bed, we’ll buy a new one for Grandma Luo.”
“No need for that, just forget about the bed. As long as nobody’s injured, that’s all that matters.” Having regained her composure from the shock, Grandma Luo waved them off after hearing his words and said, “It’s getting late, and you have a long car ride ho tomorrow. I’ll go prepare another bedroom for you. You should both rest up quickly, don’t worry about anything else.”
“Okay, thank you, Grandma…”
Luo ngng felt awkward.
The next day, it was Gu Zhihan’s mom who drove over to pick him up.
Upon hearing that the bed had collapsed the night before, Gu Zhihan’s mom gave him a aningful glance, “You little rascal, you haven’t been up to anything inappropriate, have you?”
Though liberal as a parent, she had her limits!
“What nonsense are you thinking about now? The bed was collapsed by Luo ngng herself,” upon catching her gossip-filled glance, Gu Zhihan knew at once she was imagining all sorts of wild things and imdiately felt irritated. He put his arm around her.
She might be a doctor, but her imagination easily outdid that of Luo ng’s mom, who was a screenwriter.
