BOOM——
Wei Shixu’s mind was ringing!
She felt like she couldn’t breathe all of a sudden!
Her pupils constricted, her gaze fixed on that coin pendant, slowly moving upward.
Under the baseball cap was a face that had repeatedly appeared in her mories!
Wei Shixu...
He still looked as refined and handso as before, just as fair and good-looking as when they had parted a year ago, with a strong sense of youthfulness.
But sothing was missing, and sothing else had been added.
Those black irises were still deep and dark.
However...
His eyes were smiling, like black obsidian under the sun!
Bright, dazzling!
It was strange. Quan Zhisui felt a sense of relaxation in him, the kind that only Zi Yin had.
Zi Yin’s was spiritual, a return to simplicity.
But his...?
Great compassion. Supre authority.
These two descriptions suddenly appeared in Quan Zhisui’s mind. They were polar opposites, yet perfectly blended together, effortlessly shifting between each other.
This was clearly a state that only soone older would have. Why was it present in him?
He stepped down, descending from the highest peak of the mountain, walking toward her step by step.
The white clothes were dazzling, the golden-red coin pendant on his chest gently swaying with his movents as he descended the stairs.
Quan Zhisui’s heart almost leapt out of her throat!
“Wei Shixu!”
Soone called out.
Then ca the chatter of many voices. People were gathered around him, classmates, presumably, walking down with him.
He hadn’t co alone.
There were also many bystanders around, the place crowded.
Quan Zhisui’s feet felt like they were weighed down by lead, unable to move, and all the sounds around her seed to vanish in an instant.
All that remained was the sound of footsteps growing closer!
He descended the steps with the group, passing right by her.
Quan Zhisui slled a scent of sandalwood, not as strong as ebony, a blend that lingered between youth and masculinity, pulling out a subtle sensuality.
He saw her, and she saw him.
Neither of them said a word, only a brief mont of eye contact.
As they brushed past each other, she thought she heard him let out a soft chuckle, a very faint, almost undetectable laugh, like a slowly exhaled breath.
The sigh-like laugh was familiar and deeply rooted, his unique way of speaking.
Quan Zhisui froze in place, like a statue!
After a long while...
The sound of voices from the group faded—they must have gone down the mountain.
Quan Zhisui took a step forward again, now drenched in sweat.
She began to breathe heavily, as if she could no longer climb, gasping for air in large gulps...
Far behind, down the stairs.
“Wei Shixu, what are you looking at? Co on, let’s go!” soone urged beside him.
“Saw an eagle.” Wei Shixu turned and continued descending.
She was wearing all black, her features matured, her gaze sharper—just as the rumors said, she had a commanding presence.
But, who was she guarding against?
The black attire, a defensive stance she had taken in high school.
The others looked up at the sky, searching.
“Where?”
“I don’t see it!”
“Where’s the eagle?”
“...”
Quan Zhisui spent a long ti at the summit, so long it felt numb.
Three years ago, the two of them climbed the mountain. She stood on the peak, and Wei Shixu took a photo of her.
Three years later, she ca alone and encountered Wei Shixu standing on the summit, capturing his back.
Circling back, why did it happen at this mont?
-----------------
Quan Zhisui didn’t appear at all during the entire holiday. From the summit, she went straight back to the martial arts hall.
She was unwell, restless, and in low spirits. She spent her days lying in her old room, staring blankly.
Even her phone was dead, left uncharged, making it impossible for anyone to reach her.
Luckily, she also had no chance to search online for the na that was well-known throughout Liangxi Town.
He was in Yunyang, he had co to Yunyang...
Her master and senior brothers were busy with the new martial arts hall, teaching and managing, so they rarely visited the old hall, which remained quiet.
Zi Ling visited daily, tossing a few baked sweet potatoes to her, as if feeding a monkey at a scenic spot.
One day, Zi Ling arrived again, cursing at the door.
“You lazy bum! Don’t practice, don’t stand still, don’t go out to play! Don’t even study! And don’t eat! You might as well starve to death!”
She had been hiding here for a whole week, like a turtle with its head in its shell.
Zi Ling kept scolding, getting so worked up he started kicking the door.
Finally, Quan Zhisui erged from the room, barely lifting her eyes to look at him with a lifeless expression.
Zi Ling looked her up and down with a disgusted expression. “Tsk tsk! My goodness! What’s this, a wandering ghost?!”
Quan Zhisui asked, “Did he stay here for two months last sumr?”
Zi Ling rolled his eyes. “Yeah, he was fine, but now you’ve gone crazy. I’m amazed! You two are playing a ga of opposites with or what?”
Quan Zhisui asked again, “I hear he often had long talks with the master?”
Zi Ling replied impatiently, “Yes, there was one ti they talked for ten hours. I had to deliver two als in between.”
Quan Zhisui frowned. “Why does he have to take everything? Even my master.”
Zi Ling stomped his foot and grumbled, “You’re so annoying! Get out of here already! Stop being lazy and making bake sweet potatoes for you every day! You’re as useless as a baked sweet potato!”
Finally, Quan Zhisui went down the mountain.
The holiday was over.
It was ti to return to school.
-----------------
In the week-long holiday, Wei Shixu had already figured out the situation with the club.
There were only about a dozen mbers, all students from the sa university.
The club’s facilities were open around the clock, with dining, bars, entertainnt... everything, operating on a self-service scan mode.
The employees were the sa group who had been with the Zuo Family, accompanying her here.
The travel arrangents were managed by Zhao Lin, housekeeping by Gu Lan, the head chef was Ma Xinwei...
There was also a general manager, Fang Yue.
These people were all taken aback when they saw him, but they said nothing.
Wei Shixu made no announcent.
The club mbers often gathered at the top-floor bar to drink, and Wei Shixu managed to get all the information by asking with a glass of water.
Many days had passed, yet Quan Zhisui still hadn’t shown up.
This made the new mbers very curious. What a mysterious president!
Even Yan Rong and the others were a bit bewildered. Unable to locate her, the older mbers had asked privately several tis.
This was the first ti Quan Zhisui had disappeared for so long.
Wei Shixu wasn’t in a hurry. Over several days, he leisurely explored the entire club.
He particularly liked the semi-outdoor corner of the bar, a small terrace with a couch, hidden, offering a good vantage point.
While others drank, he would sit alone there, gazing at the river view, letting the breeze wash over him.
From ti to ti, soone would call him to join for drinks, but he always had an unassuming excuse to decline, then continued to enjoy the view.
Waiting.
……
One day after class, Wei Shixu and four other newcors went to the club together.
Ye Zhuo nudged Wei Shixu with his elbow and said, “You’re so good-looking, but watch what you say and do. The elders here are pretty easy-going, but I’ve heard a few have enormous family backgrounds. Don’t stir up trouble.”
Wei Shixu replied, “I haven’t caused trouble.”
Qian Sili glanced at him. “And you’re not? That boast about Peking University almost made sweat! Don’t go spouting nonsense!”
Shi Shaoqi chid in, “Exactly, Wei Shixu. This club is full of powerful figures, especially that vice-president Yan Rong! Don’t go rushing to show off. Keep your cool, or people might dislike you.”
Qi Geng added, “But it seems like everyone didn’t care. Let’s just move on from that, shall we?”
Wei Shixu smiled silently.
