In the end, Quan Zhisui didn't climb over the wall. Wei Shixu opened the window for her, and she told him to climb through himself, then watched from the window as he finished drinking the traditional Chinese dicine.

Her rigid and by-the-book attitude left Wei Shixu at a loss.

He had originally planned to confess his feelings in the privacy of their shared space, but she didn't give him the chance.

Wei Shixu climbed back out of the window and tentatively said, "It's bitter. Not ideal for kissing."

Quan Zhisui glanced at the ti. "Let's go, it's ti for evening study."

Wei Shixu: "..."

Watching Quan Zhisui stride ahead, Wei Shixu couldn't quite figure her out.

Her protectiveness and concern for him were genuine. She would stand by his side without hesitation and even fight for him without asking questions.

But she... absolutely refused to take it any further.

Why?

Wei Shixu thought carefully about it.

Both tis he had been beaten in the alley, she had been deeply worried, comforting him and sharing his pain.

But the strongest emotional outburst had been in the cafeteria. Back then, Wei Shixu hadn't been pretending or crying, yet she had still exploded.

She had firmly stood in front of him, her protective instincts flaring up intensely, not allowing anyone to speak a single bad word about him!

So the key was...

Seeing it with her own eyes?

Got it.

...

The weather grew hotter, and there was only a month left before the end of the sester.

Lately, Quan Zhisui had been receiving many phone calls. All sorts of people were reaching out to her—so claiming to be her mother's classmates, others saying they were forr business partners, and even so from the bank.

The variety was endless.

In the study on the second floor, two martial arts instructors stood side by side—one older and one younger.

When they saw Wei Shixu appear in his school uniform, they were both taken aback. The butler had originally told them that the head of the Wei family was looking for martial arts instructors.

Qian Cheng, seeing the three of them et, tactfully exited the study, closing the door behind him and blocking Wei Jingsan, who was approaching in his wheelchair.

Wei Jingsan glared at Qian Cheng, clearly annoyed.

Qian Cheng offered an apologetic smile and took control of the wheelchair, pushing Wei Jingsan away.

After sitting down, Wei Shixu looked at the two martial arts instructors and asked, "What are your specialties?"

The two n clasped their fists in a traditional salute and listed their skills one by one.

Wei Shixu nodded, then asked, "Can you take a hit?"

The younger of the two stepped forward and said, "Mr. Wei, I can take a hit. I've been beaten up since I was a kid."

Wei Shixu then asked, "Are you fast?"

The young man nodded. "Fast! I'm best at running away."

Wei Shixu's eyes lit up. "What's your na?"

The young man clasped his fists again. "Wei Qing!"

Wei Shixu nodded. "You two will split the work. One stays here to teach , and Wei Qing will co with to handle sothing."

...

At noon on Saturday, Wei Shixu invited Quan Zhisui out for barbecue.

Quan Zhisui imdiately abandoned the cafeteria, signed out at the school gate, and left campus.

The place Wei Shixu had chosen was quite far—a spot Quan Zhisui had never been to before, requiring a half-hour taxi ride.

The area was beautiful, with excellent landscaping and scenery, but it was sparsely populated. It was a newly built pedestrian street, and the barbecue restaurant was also newly opened.

Quan Zhisui didn't know the way, so she followed the navigation instructions Wei Shixu had sent her.

Soon, at a fork in the road ahead, she saw Wei Shixu waving at her.

He was dressed entirely in black again.

Because of the heat, he was wearing knee-length, loose-fitting shorts and a heavy black T-shirt with no logo—just pure black.

He was also casually wearing a pair of slippers and a black baseball cap that covered most of his face.

He looked as though he had just stepped out to throw out the trash.

But this casualness gave off a relaxed, aristocratic vibe.

It was strange—even with the baseball cap on, passersby still glanced at him from ti to ti.

Quan Zhisui, however, didn't focus on his aura. Instead, she scanned his arms and calves.

The kid had been training recently; his muscles looked more defined and powerful.

The two were about fifty ters apart. Quan Zhisui wasn't in a hurry, walking toward him at a steady pace.

Wei Shixu stood there waiting for her, looking down at his phone.

Then...

Suddenly, a figure darted out from a nearby alley, rushing toward Wei Shixu and delivering a powerful punch to his abdon!

Bang!

Caught off guard, Wei Shixu was sent flying backward, slamming hard into the wall behind him with a dull thud.

The assailant, having struck his target, quickly fled without any hesitation!

Quan Zhisui's eyes narrowed, and she sprinted forward at full speed!

From the way the man ran and struck, it was clear he was a trained fighter!

An ordinary person wouldn't have been able to move so quickly!

But no matter how fast Quan Zhisui ran, it was no use. There was so distance between them, and the pedestrian street was designed with winding paths and nurous forks. By the ti she reached Wei Shixu, the attacker had already disappeared into one of the many alleys.

She stood beside Wei Shixu, both angry and anxious.

"Ugh..." Wei Shixu let out a pained groan.

Quan Zhisui imdiately knelt down to check on him.

Wei Shixu was leaning against the wall, hunched over and clutching his abdon. Beads of sweat dotted his pale forehead, and he sat there silently, breathing heavily.

It hurt!

The punch had been powerful!

And because he had been thrown back so quickly and violently, his exposed calf had scraped against the ground, breaking the skin.

His fair skin made the wound look even more grueso, blood seeping out.

Quan Zhisui pulled Wei Shixu into her arms, gently patting his head, her eyes blazing with fury as she glared in the direction the attacker had fled.

Wei Shixu rested his head on her shoulder, breathing softly. "Ugh... it hurts... Quan Zhisui... it really hurts..."

His breath was hot against her neck.

His pale lips and sweat-drenched face made him look as though he might shatter at any mont.

Quan Zhisui was seething with anger!

Suppressing her rage, she whispered soothingly, "Let's go to the hospital."

Wei Shixu: "The barbecue..."

Quan Zhisui: "Forget the barbecue. We're going to the hospital!"

This ti, the bodyguards and butler all arrived, frantically rushing Wei Shixu to the hospital.

Fortunately, he had been training recently, so while the punch looked severe, it hadn't hit any vital organs. The scrapes on his leg, however, looked alarming.

Quan Zhisui stayed by his side as his wounds were treated.

Wei Shixu was particularly delicate, wincing at even the slightest touch of antiseptic, gripping Quan Zhisui's hand tightly and refusing to let go.

Nearby, Qian Cheng was analyzing the situation. "Was it soone from the Yan Family? We've been investigating Zuo Zhiyu and also looked into Yan Guanghua. As you know, sir, Yan Guanghua is soone who holds grudges."

Quan Zhisui frowned.

Qian Cheng continued, "Could this be Yan Guanghua's way of warning us to stay out of his business?"

Quan Zhisui looked up and asked, "Is this because of ?"

Wei Shixu shook his head. "No, we've had a feud for a long ti. Don't overthink it."

Quan Zhisui lowered her head, saying nothing, but her grip on Wei Shixu's hand tightened even more.
