Chapter 48: Just Like in a Drama

"Do you know her?"

Rika scratched her cheek. "Y-Yes, young miss. But where have you heard that na?"

"I heard Night mumbling her na." Even though it wasn’t intended. It wasn’t intentional since I wasn’t supposed to be in his room then. "Is she his forr lover? Just like Tomoe?" Rika’s face cleared up after hearing

say that, and she giggled. ’Why?’

"What? Why are you laughing all of a sudden?"

Rika shook her head with a smile. "Shiho is the na of the young master’s younger sister. She’s the young miss of the house." She said, which made my eyes go wide. Night has a younger sister? This is the first ti I’m hearing this information.

"How old is she? How co I haven’t seen her yet?"

Rika cleared her throat as she made

drink the tea she brought. "The young miss is fragile and far weaker than the young master. Thus she lives in the custody of the oyabun in the main house back in Japan." She said. "And she’s currently 15 years old."

After that, Rika didn’t enclose much information about Shiho anymore. I rember that Night apologized to Shiho in his dream, but why? Did he do sothing terrible even to his younger sister? Why did he apologize like that? It’s all confusing.

"Yesterday was really great!"

My forehead creased after Ericka said that. We’re both in the indoor pool because coach Samantha made

watch the training even though I’m not allowed to join, and Ericka just finished her sets. "What’s great about it?"

Ericka looked at

with confusion, but she soon reached a realization. "Oh! Right, you lost consciousness. That’s why you didn’t know." My forehead creased. Is she talking about what happened to ? What’s so great about that? "I was just on my way to the guidance office that ti when you suddenly fell to the ground, and the students from the advanced class saw you." She said.

"Then it was like a scene that ca out of a comics or drama. It was fantastic!" She said with her eyes sparkling. "Night ca and lifted you up with his arms. You’re like a damsel in distress; he was a knight who ca rushing to your help. But there was sothing wrong, though."

"What was wrong? Did you hit your head or sothing?"

Ericka laughed. "No, not about , silly." She said as she placed her hand on her chin. "The expression on Night’s face. I can’t fully explain it, but it’s like he was panicking. That’s the part I didn’t understand. Why would he panic like that? Was it because a student lost consciousness in the middle of the hallway?"

I looked at her without saying anything. ’Wouldn’t that explains why anyone would panic?’

"I know anyone would panic, but he was different. It’s like he deeply cares for you, which caused him to be terrified of the situation. You’ll mostly see that from a male lead in a drama. Like when the female lead gets into trouble." Ericka’s eyebrows kept going up and down while having this teasing smile on her face.

"I think Night likes you too." She whispered.

It caught

off-guard and soon made

scoff. "You know that’s not true, don’t you?"

"What? You’ll never know! Even if Night ignored you while you were all over him, he didn’t reject you either. So, there might be a chance that he actually likes you." Ericka said with confidence making

grimace. Honestly, that would make

happy before, but I’m over him now, as I said. "Night was really handso, being all that panicky. It was our first ti seeing him like that. He gives such male lead energy, and it was aweso!"

"Hey! Are you done blabbering around? Help clean up." Leslie said annoyedly, making

stand up from my seat. "You too." She told Ericka, so we both went off the bleachers and helped clean the pool area.

Ace and Andy were also dead worried about what happened to

yesterday. Ace even scolded

for attending the class because she said I still needed to get plenty of rest. I already rested well, though. That’s just how overprotective and worried Ace is about . "I bet my limited strawberry bread that Night has feelings for you, Noelle," Ericka said while mopping the floor.

"I second that!" Doreen raised her hand, which made the other agree. What are they talking about? Do they see things right?

"You should grab the opportunity, Noelle. The school trip’s coming soon, and your class will be with the advanced class, right?" Tristen said. "If I can be in the sa building as Night, I’ll probably jump at him and take that chance." She added. Why are they saying these? I thought they like Night too?

"Would you shut up about that and start cleaning properly?" Leslie shouted at us, making the others click their tongue. "And you, don’t bring your filthy love life in this place. It’s annoying." She told

as she left and went to the locker room.

"What the hell is her problem?" Ericka angrily dropped the mop to the floor. "How could she just point her finger towards Noelle like that? Doesn’t she know—"

"Let’s just stop there," I told Ericka. I need to go ho as quickly as possible so that I can study the notes Tomoe made since grandpa Kenta forbids

from staying up late at night. "I’ll be going ho first. See you guys tomorrow."

I bid them goodbye, and as I went out to the hallway, Leslie got out too. ’Oops, it’s too awkward to bump into her.’ I smiled at her even though I knew that she hated . "S-See you tomorrow." I turned my back to make my quick escape, but Leslie said sothing and made

stop.

"I don’t care if Night likes you back." She said, making

turn to her. "That guy doesn’t deserve to have you. You’re talented, so don’t waste your talent just because of that snob and an apathetic guy that doesn’t even pay attention to your efforts." Leslie said as she turned her back on

and started walking away in the opposite direction. Were that words of encouragent, or was she just dissing Night because she hates him?

Wow, it’s rare to find a student here that hates Night. "Thank you!" I told her even though she was already far away. I’ll take that as words of encouragent. Hearing our team’s best swimr says I’m talented makes

really happy. Now, all I need to do is recover and go back to swimming. By the way, the school trip will be during the second week of December. I used to feel excited about those things, but now I feel indifferent.

"Mila— Noelle!" I heard Kaoru from behind. ’Did he just stop himself from calling

milady? He did a great job.’ "The car’s ready," Kaoru said, and so I followed him to the car, but our driver wasn’t Kenji. It was Asahi.

"Did you have a great day, milady?" Asahi asked as he started the car. "Kenji’s driving for the young master. That’s why I’m here." He said as if he read my mind. They make

wonder if they know how to read people’s minds, or am I that obvious with what I think?

Oh right! I’ll just read Tomoe’s notes to pass the ti since there’s always heavy traffic when it’s past 4 pm. It’s rush hour, and people are all returning ho, that’s why. "Did Night go sowhere?"

"Yes, and that’s why Kenji accompanied him."

Is that so? Did he fall ill yesterday? That’s why he had such nightmares? I shook my head. ’Even if that’s what happened, it’s none of my business.’ I thought as I opened the notes. The virtues of the yakuza.

While reading, I can hear the sounds coming from Kaoru’s phone. Is he playing sothing? "What’s that ga called?" Kaoru explained it to

and even started talking about the ga’s lore, even though all I asked was the ga’s na.

"Okay, stop disturbing the lady when she’s studying." Asahi said after witnessing that I can’t follow Kaoru’s explanation any longer. "I still rember how the young master used to like playing gas too. Oops, I shouldn’t disturb the lady." He said, and he zipped his mouth. What’s with that? It’s as if he deliberately ntioned Night to make

curious. Even if that’s his plan, I ignored it and focused back on reading.

I used to really hate reading, but after being forced to study my butt off, it beca interesting to do. Even though I used to hate being forced to do anything, reading beca fun. Whenever I don’t understand anything, I search it on the internet to try and learn more. I didn’t know learning could be so exhilarating. Now I understand why Ace always reads books; not only you’ll get entertained, but you’ll also get more knowledge.

When we arrived back at the mansion, everything was chaotic. I was dumbfounded to see Rika kneeling on the rocky ground with bruises all over her face.

"Rika? What happened to you?"
