Chapter 26: Mysterious Kisser
Even though sports festivals are fun, I can’t join them since I’m busy with other things. I already inford Andy about it, and he’s willing to help
avoid joining so of the gas without receiving backlash from our classmates. I’m so glad I have a friend to depend on.
"We’ll be practicing for the gas. What about you?" Andy asked as soon as our classmates were out of the classroom. It’s our gym class today, and I don’t think I want to join.
"I think I’ll just stay in the library."
"With that guy?" Andy pointed to Kaoru.
I shook my head. "Kaoru, you should join the gym class."
"B-But milady— Ellie?"
I sighed. "I’ll be fine. I’ll stay in the library, so just go there after you’re done." He’s also a student. Even if he’s my bodyguard, I can’t keep him to myself. It’s not like I’ll be in danger inside the school grounds.
With that, Andy forced Kaoru to join while I went to the library, holding onto my books. I at least should learn sothing today. Might as well start doing my review to help

"Noelle? What are you doing here?" As soon as I entered the library, I bumped into Ryzen. What is he doing here?
"I’m here to study. What about you?"
Ryzen’s face reddened as he scratched the back of his head. "I’m actually using the library duties as an excuse to skip gym class." He said. That’s when I noticed how he had a bruise on his arms and cheek. Was that because of what Kaoru did before?
"Where did you get that wound?" I pointed to the one on his arm. "Was it because of what Kaoru did this morning?"
Ryzen imdiately shook his head. "Nah. That kid didn’t do
any harm." He still couldn’t look
in the eye, making
more suspicious of him. "It’s because of Ivan. He wanted to take revenge on , but it was petty. That’s also why I skipped gym class because I know he’ll just do sothing ridiculous." What? I thought they were friends.
"Well, that’s just an."
I heard him chuckle as he patted my head. "It is. That’s why stay away from that guy." He said. "Should I help you with your books?" I couldn’t answer when he had already taken my books away. "It’s rare for princess Noelle to study. Do you want
to help you? Although I’m not good at mathematics, I’m good at economics and history."
"Really?" My eyes widened. "I really appreciate it if you would help ."
Ryzen brought
to the farthest part of the library, near the librarian’s office. "Here, it’ll be quieter here." He said as he placed my books on the table. "Where should we start then? I can make this an excuse for skipping class since you’ll be taking special examinations, right?"
I nodded as I opened my book. "I think we should start from this part. I don’t really understand the concept of this one." I said as I pointed to the content of the book.
"Oh boy, you’re up for a joyful ride," Ryzen said as he smiled. "I’ll explain it by using this example here first." Even though I used to think of Ryzen as soone carefree and cheerful, I didn’t expect him to beco so serious while teaching
the concept of this lesson in economics.
"See? Isn’t it easy to understand?"
I nodded. It’s a lot better than when Night told
about it. How co I didn’t understand it before? "You’re good at explaining." I clapped my hands gently, making Ryzen scratch the back of his head. We’re the only ones in the library, so no one’s restraining us even though we’re getting louder than we should be.
"Oh. Your prince, 10 o’clock." Ryzen said out of the blue, which made

Oh right! I forgot that I should be acting like a complete fool when it cos to Night! If Ryzen thinks it’s weird, he’ll probably tell it to Andy, and Andy will inform Ace, which will make things worst!
"I-It’s because I’m shy right now." I tried to hide due to embarrassnt. I’m really getting shy because of this stupid situation. "I don’t want him to see
studying like this because he might think I’m stupid." Well, just to be clear, Night does think of
as soone stupid even without doing anything.
Ryzen patted my head. "What’s with that? Where did the confident Noelle go?" It’s not that my confidence went missing. It’s just I don’t like him anymore! "Fine, let’s just study again." He said while patting my head, and I nodded.
I need to study this more because I’ll beco even busier when I start attending club activities and bridal lessons. How much stress will I accumulate with that schedule?
"Did you understand anything? I’m sorry I’m not good at explaining so of them."
I quickly shook my head. "You’re good and even helped
make this easy-to-understand reviewer." A smile ford on my face as I stared at my reviewer. It’s my first ti accomplishing sothing like this alone without my mommy doing almost everything. Although Ryzen helped , I wrote everything on my own based on my understanding.

I followed Ryzen out of the library. He used to not pay much attention to
before, but we’re still friends. Maybe because of my family’s condition that he’s giving

"Of course. It’s my pleasure."
I giggled after hearing that, but it didn’t last when I noticed Night and Kaoru in front of us. They look like they’re going sowhere. "Uhm, if I may ask, will you please bring this to our classroom? I’ll just stop for a restroom break."
"Sure. I’ll put it on your desk."
With that, I followed Night and Kaoru. ’Where are they going? I thought Night’s true identity is top secret, so why are they talking at school?’
"Kaoru," I called Kaoru’s na, which caught the attention of the two of them. We’re in the corner of the farthest end of the hallway. People barely pass here since the rooms here are all empty. Night imdiately glared at
with his arms crossed. See? He just really hates my guts.
"Didn’t the boss tell you not to stray far from Kaoru?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Stray far? We’re on the school grounds. What do you expect will happen?"
"You’re being too lax after going through a lot, don’t you think so?" I felt offended by the way Night said that. "Must it be because you wanted to spend ti with another man who will not be your husband?" Does he even hear himself?
"So I’m not allowed to be taught by other people now? If you’re one of a hell good of a teacher, I wouldn’t have to search for other people to teach ." I rolled my eyes. Why am I even trying to compete with this jerk? "Let’s go back, Kaoru." We have an early dismissal today since the teachers and staff have a eting because of the upcoming sports festival.
The advanced classes aren’t the sa, though. They still need to go through their last class. I wonder why schools keep focusing on those students who are already good and not those who need help. I shook my head. "I’m going to get my things," I said.

back to the classroom, and like what Ryzen said, he did place my things on top of my desk. "You should change back into your uniform. I’ll wait for you here." Kaoru nodded as he rushed out of the classroom.
I sighed and sat on my chair after putting everything in my bag. It’s tiring always arguing with Night. How will I survive as his wife when we’re always at each other’s throats? I an, he always starts it like a child.
When Kaoru arrived, the two of us went to the parking lot where Kenji was already waiting. "How did school go, milady?" He asked with that usual annoying smile of his. I didn’t bother answering as I felt I might say sothing inappropriate. These days I’ve felt like I’m not the sa as before, I lost my brightness, and all I can feel is annoyance.
Even after arriving ho, I still wanted to study more, so I went to the garden. "I’ll bring the lady so refreshnts," Rika said as I placed my books and pen on the table they prepared for . It’s peaceful and quiet. Now all I need to do is review all I learned today, thanks to Ryzen. I never knew that I’d enjoy studying like this to the point that I forgot I must prepare for my first eting with my bridal lessons teacher.
Due to too much studying, it’s already getting dark, and I still haven’t changed into formal clothes. "Let’s go, young miss. I prepared your attire for today’s eting." I followed Rika, and as we arrived at my room, I rembered leaving my pencil case on the table in the garden. Tsk!
"I’ll go fetch sothing first. I’ll be back quick."
I said that. But as soon as I arrived in front of the garden, I saw an unfamiliar figure of a woman. Dark brown hair tied up into a bun with sparkling flower ornants on her hair. She’s wearing a turquoise yukata with pink flower designs on it. She looks elegant even from this distance.
"Who could it be?"
She’s standing near the table, which made
hesitate to go out. That was until I saw Night, who had just arrived. Even though it was getting dark, I saw how a smile ford on the woman’s face. It seems like she greeted him.
But then I saw sothing unexpected, causing
to blink thousands of tis just to ensure that it wasn’t an illusion.
When the woman got near Night, she suddenly kissed Night on his lips, causing
to hide while covering my mouth. ’W-What did I just see?’
