Chapter 141: Tragic Truth

I gasped after hearing that. ’G-Grandpa Kenta has a daughter? Which ans...’ My gaze landed on Night and he was already looking at

with a confused expression. ’I rember! I didn’t tell him that the handkerchief belongs to Aziel. That’s why he’s confused.’ I gulped as I started scratching my fingernail due to nervousness.

"My daughter... she’s been missing since she was just a re child."

Missing? Then that ans grandpa Kenta isn’t aware of Aziel at all. I couldn’t look at grandpa Kenta as I stared at my fingers. Should I really tell them about it? It’ll only hurt them, but if I don’t, their suffering won’t stop.

’Wait a minute... that ans, the assassin Night killed to protect his mother, was his long-lost aunt.’ I gulped and started biting my fingernails as I could feel my body trembling in fear. It’ll hurt them. Not only grandpa Kenta but most especially Night.

"Please, Noelle my dear. Tell

the truth that you know of."

The pressure of telling the awful truth to grandpa Kenta makes my heart hurt. It’s as if I’m being crushed and I don’t know what to do.

"If I may speak, I think we should wait for Noelle to settle down. She just got back from being abducted, she needs rest." I felt Night’s grip on my hand tightening.

It made

rember, that I am not facing this alone. Night’s here with , and he’ll stay by my side. Yet... if I tell them the truth, it might destroy Night’s peace and it will hurt both of them.

"I..."

I felt their gaze on .

"I got it from Aziel."

I saw how Night’s eyes widened while grandpa Kenta looked puzzled. He’s not aware of who Aziel is.

"H-He was the guy who abducted , and he is the heir to the Llarena mafia group." I gulped after saying that. "A-Aziel told , that handkerchief... it belongs to his mother." The beating of my heart keeps getting faster that I couldn’t even stop my stutters.

Grandpa Kenta stood up from his seat. "Where is his mother? Where is Ichika right now?" He asked. The calm and composed grandpa Kenta looks like he was losing himself. His lips were trembling and his eyes looks like they were about to let tears fall. His lost daughter must have been really precious to him.

’How will he react if he knew the tragic truth?’

"She’s..." I looked at Night who was staring at . "She died."

I heard grandpa Kenta’s gasp as he lost his balance causing him to lean on his table. "How... how did Ichika die?" His voice cracked as he looked at

with those pitiful eyes. It must have been devastating to hear what I told him.

I bit my lower lip and tightened my grip on Night’s hand. "I... I don’t think I should be the one saying this."

"Please, dear... I beg you." Grandpa Kenta’s desperate plea made

back away. "I must hear the truth."

I turned to Night to see if he was waiting for it too. He looked like he was confused as to why I kept glancing at him. "The assassin." I took a deep breath. Night might get angry at

because I learned about his dark past without his permission. "The assassin that tried to kill Night’s mother, it was Aziel’s mom."

Silence followed that and I only stared at the ground, afraid of how grandpa Kenta will react.

That’s when I heard him scoff which made

think that he was laughing at

and he might be thinking that what I said was a lie. But when I looked at his face, tears were coming out of his eyes and despair was all over him.

"Where did you learn that?" He asked as he sat down on his seat.

"Aziel told . He said that Night’s uncle hired an assassin to kill Night’s mother."

Grandpa Kenta intertwined his hands as he placed them on top of his desk and leaned on them. He’s hiding his face from us so I can’t really figure out what he’s thinking.

"Junichiro, huh." He murmured. "I shall talk to the two of you later. For now, you may go. I must tend to so problems in the main house."

Night and I stood up from our seats and we went out of the room. I felt the silence swallowing us as soon as we got out of the office. He was quiet and the vibes around him doesn’t look good so I chose not to talk as it might annoy him.

When we reached our room, Night smiled at

and said, "I’m going to tell them to bring you food." He left the room after that and I was alone again.

It feels like I’m the one at fault. "I shouldn’t have told them." I lay on the bed while staring at the ceiling. If lying was the only way to protect Night, I should have lied.

When I heard a knock on the door, I got up and saw Rika entering the room with food. "Where’s Night?" I asked her, but Rika shook her head.

"The young master only told

to bring the young miss’s breakfast." She said causing

to sigh.

Of course, Night will get affected by what he heard. He realized that Aziel was his cousin, and the assassin he killed was his aunt. ’How do I go back and fix this?’ I sighed again as I started eating my breakfast.

Night might not want to see

right now so I’ll just wait for him to co back here.

Even after eating, Night didn’t co back, and Rika went out to help with the household chores so I was left alone again. ’I don’t want to be alone though.’ Being alone scares

right now after going through kidnapping two tis by the sa kidnapper.

That reminds !

"I need to contact El." I pulled my phone out of my pocket and dialed Aziel’s phone number. "He needs to know about the truth too." And he might be able to explain to grandpa Kenta what kind of person his mother was. It might reduce the pain they are going through.

That’s at least what I thought, but the phone keeps telling

that the number I am calling is unavailable. "Did he block ?" I tried calling him many tis, but nothing changed.

"Ugh, that prick."

I couldn’t control my annoyance as I threw my phone to the bed and stood up. "There’s no point staying in here if Night’s not with ." With that, I walked out of the room and I almost had a heart attack causing my knees to weaken as I fall to the floor.

"What are you doing outside the room?" I glanced at Kenji after saying that. It was really traumatizing when people suddenly appear in front of

without saying anything.

"What’s with that reaction?" He asked and tilted his head. "I just passed by, milady," Kenji said with that suspicious smile of his.

It’s clearly not that. Why would he pass by this way when there’s nothing in here but this room?

"What is it?" Kenji asked as he smiled even wider.

I didn’t answer and just stared at him while sitting on the floor. He keeps avoiding my gaze but wouldn’t stop smiling. ’I won’t stop staring at him until he tells

his real reason.’ And that’s what I did.

Sweats started coming out of his temples and I just know that he was lying to . How I keep staring at him made him uncomfortable, and finally made him talk. ’It makes

feel sowhat good when n are uncomfortable.’

"The young master told

to not let the lady leave the room."

I raised an eyebrow while Kenji help

stand up from the floor. "And why is that? Where is he anyway? Did he leave without telling ?"

Kenji sighed in defeat. It looks like he wasn’t planning to hide any of it for long either. "The young master’s in his room at this mont."

"And?"

"That’s it."

My forehead creased as I crossed my arms. "Then, why is he not letting

out of the room?"

"I don’t know either." Kenji sighed. "If the lady wants to know that badly, then you should go to him. I don’t care anymore; this is too much of a hassle." He said in defeat as he pushed

away from him.

’Why does he have to push

away? Tsk. That guy has no loyalty.’ I shook my head as I walked in the hallway towards Night’s room.

Does he really want to be left alone? Is that why he even placed Kenji outside of our room to keep

away from him? ’If that’s what he wants, he might get angry at

if I enter his room without his permission.’

When I arrived in front of his room, I felt hesitant since I don’t want to destroy our relationship now. Night and I like each other now, I think? I don’t want him to hate

again, but I don’t want him to suffer alone either.

"Night?" I called for his na and knocked on the door but there was no answer. "I’m coming in." He must have forgotten to lock the door because he thought I wouldn’t go to him.

I opened the door and saw him sitting on the bed while crouching. He was covering his face with both of his hands. It reminds

of that ti when grandpa Kenta got angry at him and his mood turned bad.

"I want to be alone."
