Rory

TWO MONTHS LATER

My life has changed... for the better.

If anyone had told on the night I got drenched with rain in the back of a large truck, that I’d end up achieving sothing like this after six months, I’d have called them a liar to their face without hesitation.

I let my hand wander to my belly and I gave it a small pat. I was already starting to show. One mont my stomach was still flat, and the next, it wasn’t.

My pregnancy was a little over six months old so far, and I was beyond ready to welco my baby into the world at this point.

As laughter and chatter poured out around , I found myself reveling in all the background chatters while I struggled to not burst into tears from how emotional I was feeling right now.

Two months ago, I quit my job. And two months ago, I accepted half of the initial money offered to by Grandma Nini.

Today, I was celebrating the opening of my new clothing line, the seventh business I’ve opened in two months.

Kenny was approaching and he had a glass of juice in one hand and that made a smile tug at my lips. Kenny had been a really great help to , and I wasn’t sure I’d be where I am right now if it wasn’t for his presence.

He helped with almost everything. He assisted with the investnts I got into, he created so sort of online market for as well and taught how to navigate it. He assisted with setting up brands and all of that for . In all, he was god sent to .

He stopped in front of and handed the juice, and I felt my heart flutter when our hands touched.

"Is everything alright, Rory?" He asked softly and I bead at him as I sipped at my drink.

"Of course! Everything is beyond fine." I told him and he stared at for a couple of monts before grazing my cheek with his thumb for a mont.

We were trapped in a little intimate mont, but it soon got ruined when soone approached us.

A party was currently going on, one which I threw in celebration of my latest store opening. I had invited all of my friends, which wasn’t a lot. Which was why I urged my friends to invite their friends over as well.

Grandma Nini was holding a bunch of flowers at and I got my heart clenched affectionately as I reached for it and brushed a kiss against her cheek.

"Grandma Nini, you didn’t have to!" I sighed out fondly and she rolled her eyes, leaning heavily on her cane.

"Nonsense! I wanted to. I’d have brought more than this but I know you wouldn’t want to accept it." She explained almost sadly as I helped her into the seat I was previously seated in. I let out a soft laugh as I sniffed at the fresh flowers.

"you’re right, Grandma Nini. I won’t." I reminded her. I’ve managed to form so kind of bond with her in the last two months and it wasn’t just because of the money she gave . It was mainly because I felt drawn to her in a way. I wasn’t sure if it was because she was lonely. After I began to spend ti with her, I realized that she was actually lonely and money just can’t fill the void in her heart, which is why she doesn’t bat an eye about lavishing it on random people.

She had always tried giving extravagant gifts at any given chance and I always declined each one of them. I still felt a little guilty for the money I accepted from her and was hell bent on not accepting any cost gift from her again.

"I’d have invited my grandson to this party, but I know he’s busy with his work." She sighed out after a few monts and I humd in understanding. What she didn’t know however, was that I disliked her grandson and has been judging him this whole ti.

His grandmother was dying from loneliness and he has refused to co see her no matter how much she asked him to. When she told he had refused to co see her in the past twenty years, I had felt an urge to throttle her stupid grandson to death. She never spoke angrily about him, she always sang his praises and spoke lovingly about him. But from all that I’ve heard about him, I believe he was nothing but a selfish, self centered asshole.

After spending a few more minutes with the grandma, I excused myself and went around to exchange more words with the guests.

Raya was present along with her child, and I pulled the little angel into a firm hug. She pouted when asking why I didn’t live with them again and I felt my heart instantly clench up.

Raya and exchanged so words along with a tight hug, with her telling about how she was proud of and how far I’ve co.

So far; Trevor was still yet to show up, proving my guess that he had fled from this country after that night.

Which was for his own good!

So of the people I worked with at the restaurant were present. Two of them wanted to quit their jobs and co work as managers for , and I welcod them wholeheartedly since they had a whole lot of experience.

At one point, one of my coworkers from the restaurant coughed loudly till he got the attention of everyone, and then he held his glass of wine up.

"Cheers to the success of Rory and more which is sure to co."

As everyone cheered and drank, I felt an imnse feeling of love engulfed from every direction.

My life was beyond perfect at this point.

At the end of the little party, I asked Kenny to co ho with and he instantly agreed.
