Susan’s POV

I tried every trick I had, but nothing seed to get to Claire anymore! She acted like she didn’t care at all, standing there with that calm look on her face, as if nothing I said mattered. It annoyed how she talked back, staying cool, and then casually telling everyone that Evander was married—like it was nothing.

Thankfully, the director and producer were far from the stage, too busy to hear her. If they had heard, it would’ve been hard to explain everything and cover it up!

I clenched my fist hard as I watched Claire. I was used to being the one in control, the one people reacted to. But now, no matter what I did, she didn’t budge. It was frustrating, and a strange feeling of worry crept in. It felt like I was losing control, and sohow Claire was getting stronger.

’No! I can’t let this happen!’ I thought as the feeling of panic rose in . I hurried over to Evander, reaching out to hold his hand, hoping to make a statent. But as soon as I touched him, he brushed off coldly. "Kindly, don’t touch ," he said, his voice hard and sharp.

I couldn’t believe it! He had never done that before. Sure, he had always kept so distance, never letting get too close— but to push away like this, right in front of everyone? It was humiliating.

And to make it worse, Evander looked at everyone and repeated Claire’s words, as if to make it clear. "I don’t want my wife to be angry at ," he said, almost casually but with a serious look in his eyes.

My heart sank. With just a few words, he had shown everyone that Claire was his true priority, leaving no room for . After all my efforts, he had openly reminded —and everyone else—that I ant nothing to him.

In the end, I couldn’t take the humiliation anymore. I turned and ran, desperate to get away before anyone saw my tears. I didn’t want to stay there a second longer, watching them smile at each other, looking so close and happy. Seeing them like that—it hurt too much.

As I ran down the hall, my tears finally spilled over, and I didn’t bother to stop them. My chest felt tight, and all I wanted was to disappear, to hide away from everyone. I wished I could dig a hole and crawl into it forever, far from anyone who’d seen break down.

No matter what I did, Evander had always loved Claire. The only reason he looked my way was because I pretended to be her friend. Yes, I’d beco her friend just to get close to him. I thought that maybe he’d notice , maybe even care for the way he did for her. But now, it was clear I had nothing left.

All the ti I spent pretending, all my efforts—it had led to nothing. Evander’s heart was always hers, and I was left alone, feeling the weight of my own broken pride and the emptiness inside growing with every tear.

"Are you alright, Susan?" Angel asked gently, placing her warm hand on my shoulder. I shrugged it off quickly, not wanting her or anyone else’s sympathy.

"I am more than fine!" I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. Yes, things felt like a ss right now, but it wasn’t over yet. Evander hadn’t announced anything to the world about his love for Claire—not officially. I still had plenty of chances to win him over and make him see the way he saw her.

I took a deep breath, collecting myself, and turned back to Angel with a determined look. "Call Mada Gloria," I instructed. "Tell her I will be eting her tonight at our usual place."

Angel gave a small nod, watching carefully, but I ignored it. I wasn’t about to stand here feeling weak or defeated. I had a plan already in my mind—sothing that might finally get Evander’s attention.

Without another word, I walked out of the building, leaving the stifling air behind. I wasn’t about to sit back and watch Claire have everything I wanted. This ti, I would use my head and do whatever it took to make Evander mine.

That evening, I t Mada Gloria at our usual spot, a dimly lit lounge tucked away from prying eyes. She arrived with a scowl, her expression as sharp as her words.

"Why the hell did you call here?" she hissed, glaring at with pure venom, her eyes practically shooting daggers in my direction.

I held back a smirk, keeping my tone light. "Why do you think I called you, Mada?" I asked, a gentle smile playing on my lips. However, inside I was burning with anger. I hated this woman with every fiber of my being. She was insufferable, the kind of person who thought she owned everyone around her, and it took all my restraint not to reach across the table and strangle her right there.

But I needed her. She was the key to getting Evander under my control and to finally breaking down the walls he had built up around Claire. Mada Gloria had her influence, and tonight I was going to use every bit of it to make sure Evander Kensington would be mine.

I leaned forward as my eyes were fixed on Mada Gloria. I wasn’t going to waste ti beating around the bush. "What are you going to do about Claire?" I asked directly, as my voice was firm. I wasn’t here to waste my ti with pleasantries or play around with words. I wanted answers.

She raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips as she looked at with a mocking glint in her eyes. "And why would I do anything about Claire?" She replied, looking at like she was enjoying the show, waiting to see what I would say.
