Chapter 532: Gavin’s dilemma

Ashley’s face turned grim when Tristan started whining. Unable to handle his childishness, Ashley slapped his arm in distress.

"Tristan, I am serious. Why can’t you for once keep your complaints aside and listen to "

Tristan pouted his lips watching her scold him and said," Okay, now please don’t get upset. I promise I won’t whine" This ti he was serious.

Now that Tristan pondered over her words, he found Ashley convincing. It was surprising to see their relationship grow in such a short ti and it sowhat felt suspicious.

"Should I ask Gavin?" Tristan said.

"I don’t think it’s a good idea. It’s like interfering too much in their lives. What if we are wrong and they do really like each other? We know nothing, right" Ashley refrained.

Ashley noticed how content Gavin looked when they talked about Jenny. She saw the genuine happiness in his eyes.

Ashley may be wrong, but all she wanted was for Gavin to be happy.

Tristan watched Ashley spacing out and quickly jumped in and snapped her out. "I think we should give them so ti. It’s still too early to think anything. And as far as Gavin is concerned, I know my brother wouldn’t do sothing that would hurt him or us. So let’s just not stress over it and go with the flow"

"Jenny is the right girl for him and I am sure they know what’s right for them" Ashley watched Tristan lovingly and nodded her head in agreent.

"Let’s hope the best," Ashley said.

After his conversation with Ashley ended, Gavin returned to his room. He barely managed to escape her suspiciousness, but was he supposed to run away like this always?

How long he was going to push this thought that he and Jenny made a pact to be in a fake relationship and now this lie was slowly eating him.

Gavin had never hidden anything from his family, but now, the guilt was slowly sinking into his heart.

Laying on the bed, Gavin closed his eyes and sighed. This uneasiness in her heart was slowly making him lose patience.

Gavin had co to realize that he started developing feelings for Jenny the day she decided to help him find Bianca. It was a professional relationship between the two but he couldn’t help himself from getting attracted to her innocent yet brave personality and it was the only reason why he decided to agree with her stupid act because he wanted to spend so ti with her.

But now, his patience was wearing out.

Gavin wanted to confess to Jenny that he wanted them to date for real, however, he was too scared of her reaction.

Letting out a defeated sigh, Gavin kept lying. He felt too drained and decided to take a nap when suddenly his phone buzzed and he snapped open his eyes.

It didn’t take him long to answer Jenny’s call and just like that his depressing mood changed instantly.

"I hope I didn’t disturb you," Jenny said from the other end.

"No, I wasn’t doing anything, anyways" Gavin answered.

Jenny found it unusual to call Gavin when she had already inford him about Martin’s visit to her cabin not too long. Yet, here she was calling him again.

Maybe, she had started enjoying his company so much that she wanted to keep talking with him.

Bianca’s words had stirred her emotions and now she started doubting whether she would be able to keep this relationship fake, when her resolve was slowly shaking.

Gavin’s sincerity towards her had managed to pave the way to her heart, however, she couldn’t term it yet. Was it friendship or co-worker or just a blind date, Jenny couldn’t label it because she never felt they were any of these.

It was different and Jenny could feel a strong sense of pull towards Gavin.

Her constant urge to see him, and talk with him started making her day joyful. And now Jenny had started to have second thoughts.

’Should I give it a chance’ It was an unexpected thought that just popped into her mind, however, Jenny didn’t feel troubled by it. Instead, she felt at ease after a long ti.

"Hmm, Jenny are you listening?" Gavin’s words snapped her out of her thoughts.

"Ah, yes, yes I am"

Gavin had been talking with Jenny for a minute now, but when she didn’t answer, he thought to check on her.

"Are you okay?" he asked finding her behavior a little strange.

Jenny realized she had been spacing out, leaving Gavin unattended and now she regretted being ignorant.

"I am sorry, I just spaced out. But don’t worry I am just fine. In fact, I just called to check on you. Are you okay?" she asked instead.

Jenny had sensed the tension in Gavin’s voice when she told him about Martin. He might not voiced it, but his concern for her was quite evident in the way he was inquiring about her safety.

Gavin fell silent for a mont. He knew during the call he overreacted almost exposing his emotions to Jenny. But what was he supposed to do when Martin showed up in her cabin, unexpectedly?

Soone who planned on abducting his fellow doctor because she rejected him, how was Gavin supposed to relax thinking Martin might not harm Jenny?

For now, he might not be suspicious of her, but what if he plans to monitor her? There is a possibility he would do it knowing Jenny was the only friend Bianca might contact.

It was better to be alert than to regret later.

"Jenny," Gavin began after a long pause and said," Promise

you will protect yourself. I can’t trust Martin, what if he might have so motives to approach you? I can’t risk anything when it cos to you. So promise

that you will protect yourself, for .."

Gavin’s words hit right into Jenny’s heart and it skipped a beat.

Jenny was rendered speechless on how Gavin confessed to being worried for her safety and how he can’t risk anything when it cos to her.

’What does this all an? Is it only she would can sense it was more than worry Gavin had for her or indeed he was scared to lose her
