Chapter 886: Chapter 782: The Demon Fox’s Curtain Call (Part 3)

Tie Muer felt a sense of exhaustion in both body and mind. If a warrior were to face the most undesirable opponent, it would definitely be one like Xuanwu. Her offensiveness was perhaps average, but when it ca to entanglent, she could be so relentless that there was no room for temper.

“Boom!” Tie Muer swung a heavy punch backward, intending to habitually clash it against San Niang’s fist. But suddenly, he found his hand trapped in so strange spatial passage, causing a deviation.

“The Great Khan is getting impatient… For a seasoned warrior, this shouldn’t happen.”

Ying Wu! Power related to space!

Just this small margin of deviation caused his fist to miss San Niang’s, and the fist power hit nothing, while San Niang’s fist viciously pounded into his ribs!

Tie Muer erupted with gang qi, attempting to deflect San Niang’s punch, while twisting his torso to dodge.

However, the twist was again restricted by sothing, as if subrged in a quagmire, the movent sluggish by half a beat.

“Bang!” The Xuanwu Fist heavily imprinted onto Tie Muer’s ribs, causing him to spew a mouthful of blood, then he fiercely swung his spear to sweep Ying Wu aside, staggering away northwards in an instant.

Both San Niang and Ying Wu had blood trickling from the corners of their mouths; Tie Muer’s cultivation ultimately surpassed theirs, and the recoiling power was unpleasant. Yet neither spoke a word, San Niang combined into one and pursued in silence alongside Ying Wu.

They did not seek to kill Tie Muer, only one objective: to prevent him from rallying his troops, to keep him from participating in the ground battle.

Because over where Zhao Changhe was, the battlefield relied on the transfer of human fate and the collapse of power of faith.

That was everyone’s true goal; from start to finish, the strategy had always been clear.

“Ding ding ding!” Amidst the full-scale assault of the Han army, one army formation remained unmoved.

That was the rear left wing charged by Chi Li.

Cui Yuanyong’s bragging did not co true; he expected Chi Li to abandon his strengths for siege, believing it would have little effect. The fact proved that when a person has the courage to face death, the power unleashed far exceeds normal.

He truly pushed Cui Yuanyong backward all the way, tearing a breach in the army formation, then his three thousand light cavalry seized the opening and charged inward, piercing a fair distance.

If given more ti, maybe it could be a breakthrough.

But sadly, the bloody struggle here could not effectuate before the front collapsed.

If this side had punctured first, maybe the Han army would riot, Vulture Hunting Teeth may not retreat, keeping the battle from ruin, allowing enough foundation to slowly tidy up.

But here it was slower… Ultimately, it was just a little bit too slow.

The retreat of Vulture Hunting Teeth turned Chi Li into a lone army charging into a deathtrap.

“Let’s go, Young Master!” The deputy general beside him hurriedly said to Chi Li, “Cui Yuanyong’s troops cannot stop us, we can still turn and fight our way out! There’s a saying among the Han people, ‘As long as there are green mountains, one need not worry about firewood.’

Chi Li’s curved saber clashed once again with Cui Yuanyong’s longsword, forcing Cui Yuanyong back slightly. He reined his horse to turn.

But after turning the horse, there was no further advance.

Outside the tear in the army formation he’d created, silently stood a group of half-naked Han n, led by Situ Xiao.

Neither army moved, Cui Yuanyong stood behind, Situ Xiao blocked in front, Chi Li sat on his horse turning to look around, the three thousand elites he brought now had nearly half fallen, everyone was covered in blood, faces mixed with blood and sweat amid the wind and sand, unrecognizable.

But the disbelief and sorrow in everyone’s eyes was evident.

Struggling to this mont, thinking they had a chance to disrupt the opponent… But ultimately acting like clowns.

“Do you think we look like stage clowns?” Chi Li suddenly asked.

“No.” Situ Xiao dropped his playful expression, clasped his fists in salute, “The top Hidden Dragon in our sa ranking, we used to be unconvinced, unwilling to accept… Now, I accept.”

Chi Li smiled faintly, turning to Cui Yuanyong behind him, “According to what you told a few days ago, excluding those madn, in our mortal struggles, who wins and who loses?”

Cui Yuanyong sighed, “I lost. I didn’t stop you just now. If you had more ti, I might have had to commit suicide as an apology.”

Chi Li nodded, “Then if I kill myself now, can you spare them a chance to live?”

Cui Yuanyong remained silent for a long ti, softly replied, “No. You are all heroes, but the greater the hero, the greater the enemy; once released like a tiger, the future trouble is endless.”

Chi Li looked up to the sky as if expecting so response from Longevity Heaven, but ultimately there was none, Longevity Heaven’s favor was lost.

He spoke softly, as if talking to himself, “You guys should surrender… Though Cui Yuanyong says what he will, if you surrender, the Han army, as a self-proclaid civilized force, won’t kill those who surrender.”

Cui Yuanyong couldn’t help but say, “You can too.”

“I know I can.” Chi Li chuckled, “You’re hemd in but not killed, because deep down there is admiration for heroes; your intent is to persuade surrender, however you’re afraid.”

Cui Yuanyong and Situ Xiao looked at each other without speaking; certainly, there was a bit of admiration for heroes, but they also hesitated—if soone like Chi Li truly surrendered, could trust be placed in him? Who would dare to vouch for him, and who would be responsible if trouble arose?

“Forget it.” Chi Li laughed, “Pursuing martial arts, hard to match Zhao Yue; the favor of gods, nonexistent. I don’t know what aning there is in scraping by… If my existence still proves anything, it proves that on the grassland, it’s not just Ba Tu and Vulture Hunting Teeth.”

He paused, his tone relaxed, addressing Cui Yuanyong, “Within three years, if I don’t see the soul of Vulture Hunting Teeth audited in Longevity Heaven, don’t bla for looking down on you from there.”

Then he whirled his saber across his throat, slashing fiercely, seemingly unwilling to hear, “Your Longevity Heaven is about to be lost.”

But Cui Yuanyong’s reply was, “No need for three years.”

Chi Li smiled, blood spurting from his throat, his body fell from the horse with a crash.

Both armies silently watched Chi Li’s self-slain corpse, as the spring wind blew across, stirring the wind and sand across the ground.

This was the brightest star of the younger generation on the grassland, once dominating the younger generation of Central Earth, countered only by Yue Hongling. His end seed to symbolize the inevitable decline of Longevity Heaven.

In the distance, the cries of battle remained loud, the brutal massacre and pursuit stretched from north of the Gobi toward the royal court of the Northern Desert grassland.
