The Forest Vault, which had once been surrounded by tall trees with sky-covering canopies, now lay in ruins, fire and thunder raging in all directions, the sll of charcoal lingering like ghosts.
In a region worth hundreds of square miles, nothing seed alive.
Ash covered everything, motes of it raining down from a red-gray sky.
Occasionally, one could hear growls and roars, followed by magical hiss and twangs of bows.
But an ashy land wasn't the only characteristic this Forest Vault's new region had gained.
Strips of papers, uncountable in number, were scattered in all directions, torn and burnt at the edges, crackling with a brutal song.
In the middle of this region stood Morning Mist, surrounded by a legion of a dozen Origami Pokemon and a hundred elf bown; the strongest of her Origami army.
There was no sign of fatigue on her face, other than the constant drooping of her eyelids under the effect of the Cursed Vault's sleepiness Curse.
If it ca to a one-on-one fight, without using her Pokemon and Origamis, then she perhaps wouldn't even last against Tina; not after Kai had changed her Source.
However, g's strength didn't lie in those fights, but in battles of attrition.
Her entire fighting style and Stats were designed to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers, dropping an army on them.
And that was where her Master Origami Creation Ability shone the most.
Unlike everyone who began fighting when confronted by an opponent, g fought all her battles all the ti.
Using Origami Creation, she could create Origamis continuously, imbuing her Mana and Breath within them before storing them for later use.
Not only were these Origamis extrely small, letting her utilize her huge Inventory that stood at the sa size as that of a 13th Floor Contestant, but they could also act independently.
All g needed to do was give them a set of instructions after blowing them up to their true sizes.
Then, she could watch them drop the bucket of annihilation over her enemies, losing only a minuscule amount of Mana and Breath.
But, despite all that, Master Origami Creation had its caveats.
First, for the numbers of Origamis to reach hundreds of thousands, g had to work for years, carefully creating each before thodically imbuing it with Mana and Breath.
Which ant, she couldn't possibly create such a large number of Origamis on the spot.
Second, again, because of the large amount of Origamis, g could only give them the simplest set of instructions, as she didn't have an AI for brains which could control each Origami individually using sub-programs.
Which ant, if the enemy survived her army's onslaught, which was capable of leveling cities and worlds, depending upon the tiline's Overall Grade, then her Origamis would beco powerless, reducing to nothing but paper figurines.
Third, and perhaps the biggest caveat, was related to the Origamis' nature.
Even if g could control a few hundred Origamisindividually, giving each of them a different set of instructions, it didn't change the fact that they were not Magical Creatures.
All Origamis were a part of her Master Ability, and were non-living by nature, as was apparent by the lack of life force within them.
They were created in the image of soone, and had no individual identity of their own.
That's why, no matter whether these Origamis could replicate a set of Moves, Skills, or Abilities that were unique to their Source, their own level remained far lower than a Magical Creature equivalent to Morning Mist's Floor.
g was a Top-level 8th Floor Contestant at this mont.
It ant that the ideal Overall Grade of a tiline for her Floor Ascending Mission was only C. It could be more than that, but her Main Mission's Grade might never rise to C Grade, as then it would crawl onto the boundaries of Hidden Missions.
If g's Origamis possessed the characteristics of true Magical Creatures, then each of them, no matter what kind of Origami it was, would have the strength of a 9th Floor Contestant. Because such creatures always remained a level above Contestants in strength on the sa Grade.
It wasn't the case, though.
Her Origamis were not only re puppets in all senses and purposes, but… they also vastly differed in strength, depending upon how much Mana and Breath she had imbued within them while creating them.
And none of even the strongest thousand in her Origami army were above C- grade, only capable of displaying firepower equivalent to a Low to Mid-level 8th Floor Contestant.
If g fought against any 9th Floor Contestant, then such a large number of even lower Grade Origamis was enough to exterminate them ten tis over.
Here, in the Forest Vault… she was fighting not even a Contestant, it seed, but an entire world!
RUMBLE!
The mountain range she had spied after entering the Vault had disappeared.
But, now, another mountain range appeared in her vision, vaster and viler than before, shaking the entire Vault like wind rustling against paper.
Third…
This was the third wave of mutated animals, much larger than the second, which itself had surpassed the first one.
It felt like, every ti her Origamis decimated a dozen miles of the Forest Vault along with mutated beasts, it heralded the birth of a new Beast Wave, with the ghosts of previous Waves joining them.
The cost…
g looked at the remaining Origami around her with a frown.
Other than the sleepiness, there was a bleakness in her eyes, too.
The Pokemon stepped forward.
The Elves nocked arrows on their bows.
The dark, mountain range-like Beast Wave began gaining a definite shape, their ROARs and GROWLs deafening the ears.
Before the Origami could attack, though, g raised her hand and stopped their advance.
Wait.
Not yet.
g waited.
The madness and bloodthirstiness of the beasts hit her across the face as they entered the ashy region of the Forest Vault.
Even then, g didn't give the order to attack, her drowsy gaze planted dead on the beasts.
Then, she even began slling them, all beasts reeking of a filthy stench.
And just as the Beast Wave crossed half the ashy land, scattered with hundreds of thousands of torn paper strips, g… smiled, making a hand sign.
Instantaneously, a sun appeared within the Forest Vault…
… all paper strips becoming bombs, exploding simultaneously with a nuclear BOOM!
