Salvatore’s eyes looked up from his plate and to Evelyn, "Is everything to your liking, Evelyn?"

Was he doing what she was thinking? She stared at him to make sure that he had heard correctly.

She had.

Evelyn glanced at all of our family mbers before eting Salvatore’s eyes again.

He nodded.

Evelyn placed her fork down. "I don’t really like what they have done to the house." She tsked as she looked around. "I also don’t like that they are living here while I intend to sell the house."

"Sell the house?" Giuseppe spoke up with a red face. "What?!"

He was angry. But did Evelyn care?

Evelyn nodded and waved her hand around. "I find no reason to keep this house since I am no longer living here and my father too. Why keep such a massive house when I do not plan to rent it out nor do I plan to live in it."

Gianna looked at her husband and without quickly she snapped her neck to him everyone noticed the move.

Julio did not address Evelyn, rather moved his eyes to Salvatore, "Don Alessandro, we were planning to live here for a short while if that is alright with you."

Evelyn looked at Salvatore. If he wanted, he could overrule her choice but the Don did not answer the man, rather once again moved his eyes to Evelyn to continue the conversation.

And she did.

"Julio," she took her uncle’s na, "I want you to understand that I find no reason to keep the house and the staff occupied when I do not intend to pay them nor do I plan to live in the house."

"You are not going to live here then where will you go?" Gianna spoke up, "one day you will have to move out of their house."

Yes, that was true. Evelyn knew and realised that there would be a day when she would have to move out of the house but that day was not coming out any soon.

If anything she knew that Angelo would not let her go and till she got her bachelor’s degree. So for the next few years she was safe and even after those years she knew that in the protection of a man by him, he would never let Evelyn get hurt.

"That is true." Evelyn did not bother to hide it. "But I don’t think I would co back to this house. This is too big to live in for one person."

"And you have decided for us as well?" Gianna snapped at Evelyn.

"Gianna!" Julio Snapped. "In your limits."

Had Salvatore and Evelyn not been there she knew that her aunt Gianna would have gotten a smack on the cheek. Evelyn knew that very well.

Julio sighed but it was not out of exhaustion rather to calm his nerves down as he looked at Evelyn. "Evelyn, my dear, we have decided to stay here for the timing. All of us. The death of our elder brother has brought us closer and we want to live together as a family."

A group of vultures living together? Perhaps everyone should call the scientists and let them know.

Evelyn had a quick change of mind after listening to his words and nodded her head. "Alright then. I will send over the deed of the house."

A frown marred his head. "What?"

Evelyn nodded again. "As I told you I do not plan to live here and since you all do I think you should have the house in your na."

So that if any one of them never did anything for which the owner of the house was going to be held responsible, Evelyn won’t be the one to be questioned.

Julio’s eye twitched yet he gave Evelyn a nod. "Co over with the papers when they are ready."

Co over? Evelyn held the scoff in. Given the way that everyone had addressed him in, she knew that the mont Evelyn stepped inside the house without protection, he would bury her in the backyard when no one would ever doubt it.

"Sure, I will," she said with a smile before doing sothing she had never thought of having the authority to do.

Evelyn went back to eating effectively cutting of the conversation from being escalated. For the first ti in her life Evelyn had dismissed the conversation by just taking her attention away from the person.

This was what power felt like then Evelyn wanted to be on a forever high on it.

She felt her cheeks burn slightly that there was attension upon her but this ti Evelyn did not shy away.

Evelyn did not shy away because she could feel the constant brushing of Salvatore’s thigh with hers.

While Evelyn conversed with her family mbers his knee was in constant contact with hers. She would have chosen to regard it as a mistake happening once or twice but then she realised with the constant contact that Salvatore was providing his support through touch to her.

Sothing that was in between them. Sothing that he provided just to her. Sothing that made her feel safe.

Evelyn bit her smile. The course changed and they ca to the main al. Once again it was one of the smallest als that Evelyn had ever seen in her life.

"I hope you like these," Natalia spoke up as the server placed Evelyn’s pasta. "It has shrimp."

Evelyn gave her a beaming smile. The woman had really forgotten the fact that everyone was allergic to shrimps.

Wow. And Evelyn had had an allergic reaction at Natalia’s house because of shrimps.

Evelyn pushed the shrimps around in her plate. She has no intention of eating them and allergic reaction almost die in front of them.

The only things that they heard was silence. Evelyn was kind of grateful for it. But she did not miss the subtle gestures and looks that her relatives gave each other.

Sothing was definitely up.
