"What happened?" Giovanni asked as the first thing when Evelyn sat down. "Is everything alright? Do you have to go back?"

"No," she spat the word out of anger, "he didn’t like that I did not inform anyone about our little adventure to the Bakery. Julian is going to follow everywhere for now."

Giovanni hissed. "That’s bad. You are out in the world for the first ti and in the protection of so other family. How could you be so careless?"

Evelyn gave him a stink eye. "Don’t you know a lot?"

He shrugged. "You know very well that each of us has been through the sa thing."

They did.

His words were the absolute truth because Evelyn rembered as clear as day that if anyone used to act out their fathers would not think twice before certain their dominance empowering them. It was one way to tell them that their father could protect them and destroy them in one move.

After that Evelyn just focused on eating. It was obvious that she would eventually go back but she would much rather not think about it and enjoy the pastries.

"Let’s go?" Gio said once he saw that Evelyn was wiping her face and hands.

Everyone agreed with him before getting up when Julian walked up to them. "Ma’am you have to co with us." He gave her friend a firm glance as if the order was clearly from the don and he was no one to question that.

"But Julian," Evelyn gave Gio a glance before addressing her guard, "I am coming back to the college but with him. Surely you can excuse for one last ti."

"It is not who has to excuse this," he corrected her, "It is from the don and only he can excuse this. If you want I can dial his number and you can talk to him."

That also stood correct.

Since it was the decision of the don, only the don could excuse it.

Evelyn felt the frustration built inside her even more than before. This was one ti that she was asking Julian to excuse her from doing one thing that the don wanted. Her Father’s Guards had let her do many things that you wanted beyond the boundary line set by him.

"Go," Gio nudged her shoulder, "I understand."

She gulped up and instead of answering him just turned around and left the Bakery. She recognised the card that Julie drove and opened the door for herself before the other guard could do it.

She was so angry with everything.

Julian sat inside the car and without a word they drove silently. She sat in the back sulking like a little child. That was sothing at that level and had not been done for a very long ti.

They reached the campus 15 minutes before her lecture started. Evelyn practically stord inside before she was made by Marcelo for the first ti in his life looked serious.

A serious Marcelo actually resembled his father and brother much more than a fun loving wanted. This ti she could actually see their family jawline and cheekbones. Marcelo had received his nose from Alexis but the eyes were still the sa.

"Where’d you go?" Marcello practically seethed out the words as he needed her. "Could you not tell anyone where you were gone? Are you that careless? Have you ever been in this life before?" He spat and she flinched.

"Why?" She asked him. " What happened?" Evelyn understood that Salvatore did not like her absence but she did not understand that Marcelo was so bothered.

Marshall over soone who was just a friend. And since he was not officially introduced as a made man in the organisation she did not understand the need for him to act so angry.

He scoffed. "Evelyn how could you be so stupid?"

"What is this with everyone? Why does everyone have to say that to ?!" She snapped back, losing her control and cool over hearing those words ti and again.

"Your brother has already punished . Is that not enough for you?!"

Marcello’s eyes visibility darkened and she could see the familiar wave of anger that she had seen his father and brother has co to him.

"If you think that my brother has punished you, you have no idea what punishnt is to us. Be thankful to God the father was not here to deal with this otherwise he would have given you a proper punishnt that you would not have forgotten or your life."

That was sothing that Salvatore headset to fir. It only ant that he was right. If it had been Angelo in the situation as villain would have been severely punished and given how much power Angelo had, which was much more than her father did, a punishnt would have been severe than ever.

"I know what I did marcelo." Evelyn told him with a serious face aning that she ant business. "I understand that this was a big deal to all of you. But to it was just a smart breakfast with my friend. I won’t ever repeat it again. Now can we move past this?"

Marcello did not imdiately reply, but stared at her with the tilt of his hair. The tilt of his head seed like a family trait that all of them did.

"I wish I could tell you if we can move past days but—"

"—Its the don that decides that. Isn’t it?" She mocked.

This ti the corner of his mouth twitched. Marcelo looked amused rather than taking offence to farming and sarcasm.

"I think," he folded his hands across his chest and tapped his finger over his chin like he was thinking about it, "it’s wonderful that you realise that it is my brother who is in command. However," he removed his hand from his chin and folded it across chest, "you should still be thankful." He gave her a wink before walking away leaving Evelyn to stand there as she stupidly stared at his back.
