An involuntary sigh ca out of her as her door was opened by the valet. Salvatore was already standing on the steps and she made her way to him as he held his hand out for her to take.

"Thank you," she whispered before they climbed up the stairs and made their way into the house.

The mont Evelyn walked inside she looked around the empty living room. "Where is everyone? I thought by the ti we arrived, everyone would be here."

"Hah!" Marcello gave a loud laugh as he climbed down the stairs in a hurry. "Salvatore always has a knack for coming before everyone else. My brother and my sister’s family would be at least half an hour or more."

Half an hour or even more?

Evelyn turned to look at Salvatore with shock evident on her face. "Why did we have to co so soon?"

"Because he has a problem of being early everywhere. I’ll be honest with you, even my parents are not ready yet. My mother is still taking a nap." Marcello said but ducked the shoes thrown his way.

Evelyn lookee down to find Salvatore missing one shoe and standing there with the sock feet. She chuckled looking up at him. "Did we really need to co so soon? No one is going to be here for an hour at least!"

He shrugged. "Anything you want."

Evelyn sighed, "You can’t—"

"Evelyn,"

Her body froze when she heard the familiar voice and following the source of it she found Angelo standing at the top of the stairs.

"Co with , please."

Please? Oh fuck.

Was this what he said to people before he killed them? Because, if yes, Angelo was not being as discreet as he should. Anyone could tell with the way he said please, he was going to kill them for sure.

She gulped lightly watching him on the top of the stairs not taking her eyes off of him. "N-now?"

He nodded. "Yes," he answered, "my office." She said before he walked away from the stairs and where she assud was his office.

So this was it then? That was how she was going to die. She was going to be invited to his house by his wife and husband who would so graciously kill her and probably even serve it on the dining table as dinner. Who knew what the Alessandro’s were capable of!

Suddenly Evan rembered the presence of two people in the room aside from her.

She turned to her boyfriend whom she had been dating for the past two months.

"What is happening? Why is your father calling ?" The panic in Her voice was evident and if possible she is even so Salvatore’s lip quirk a little.

"No," he answered but did not bother to give another word of advice to her.

At him in disbelief before looking at the other brother. Her eyes room in the huge living room but she did not find Marcelo which ant that he had already left the room while she was either thinking about what happened or was talking to Salvatore.

For a lazy brat, Marcello could be sneaky and quick when he wanted to be. She had not even heard the sound of feet hitting the floor.

Turning back to the only hope that was in front of her she asked Salvatore, "is it sothing I have done? Because I swear to God Salvatore I do not rember doing anything wrong!"

But to make sure that she was actually correct on the word, Evelyn ran back to the mory lane before shaking her head. Even if she had done sothing she did not rember it.

He chuckled. "Why are you getting so worked up about it Evelyn? My father is not cruel to family mbers and you are under his protection."

He pulled her close and joined her by his side. "Don’t worry, I think he is just going to talk to you. He is probably going to have you address rumours of us dating each other."

For the second Evelyn felt relieved before it clicked in her mind. Why was his father having her address the rumours?

"Why am I supposed to address the rumours? Salvatore, you can do it just fine and you are the don!" There it was one thing to date the child of formal Don but to stand in his presence while telling that she was dating his son was another thing that Evelyn had never imagined herself to do.

He rely offered her a shrug. "If he wanted to talk to then he would have called and not you."

Evevlyn felt like banging his head on the floor. What kind of possible answer was that? Why could he not reassure her or ask his father to talk to him instead of her?

She looked up to where he had disappeared on the stairs on his way to the office. She had no other option but to follow Angelo to his office and probably confirm that the rumours were true. At this mont, Evelyn much preferred to break up with Salvatore and run away from all of this.

This was probably why Ro had never bothered to et with her father. It certainly took guts to et a boss of the organisation and her ex-boyfriend did not possess them.

But did she?

Evelyn licked her lips nervously as she considered her options.

Angelo could not kill her. And that was sothing Evelyn knew for sure. Given the fact that she was in his protection, Angelo would have to think twice before killing her but then Evelyn shook her head. Her father was no longer alive and the organisation that her father had left behind was in the hands of Angela. So even if he did kill her no one would know or stand against it.

"I’ll be going then," She whispered to him and gave him a glance before walking up stairs.

"You will be fine." Salvatore gave a kiss to her cheek before patting her bottom and letting her go.
