Chapter 1337: Chats

The isolated area that no Niqols or humans dared to approach grew more cheerful.

Khan, Doku, and Liiza sat on the grey sand, forming a small circle that had little Yeza at its center. Of course, the baby never left Liiza’s arms but beca the main attraction while the trio exchanged funny stories.

Yeza’s influence stretched far past the trio, especially when it ca to the Niqols. The aliens shared Savdat’s curiosity about the newborn due to her interspecies nature. Her birth was a revolutionary event that involved far more than politics, inevitably attracting countless glances and becoming the party’s main topic.

Also, Yeza’s mother intensified that convergence of sneaky glances and murmurs. Liiza had been the very opposite of an outcast on Nitis in the past ten years. Her fa and reputation surpassed Doku’s, making the sitting trio an irresistible public attraction.

“[I don’t know if he has understood they are together yet],” Khan snickered, happily drinking the incredible booze. “[I feel a bit sorry for Jenna, but she is probably worse than he is].”

“[They are sweet],” Liiza added, rolling her eyes, “[In their own twisted way].”

“[I can’t believe Ilman found soone as intense as he is],” Doku said, shaking his head in disbelief. “[I must tell Azni. Though she’d probably fly all the way to Coravis to see it with her own eyes].”

“[She is welco there],” Khan stated. “[Any Niqols is. I should also show Baoway to you all. Even if I haven’t been there in a long ti, that’s my main ho].”

“[Our],” Liiza corrected. “[Our daughter has to visit it, too. Though I like to think that she is born among the stars].”

“[Our ho is wherever we are],” Khan explained. “[I was talking about my force].”

Liiza glanced at Khan, half-scolding him while conveying far deeper feelings. Doku couldn’t possibly fail to read her face, and a smirk broadened on his.

“[You two are exactly where I left you],” Doku comnted. “[It brings back to when we camped under the sunlight and everyone was surprised by your true faces].”

“[We are missing a few people],” Khan nodded, reaching for his sleeping daughter, “[And there are three of us now].”

“[We did follow a similar pattern],” Liiza pointed out, smiling warmly at the sight of her husband caressing their daughter. “[We still spent longer in hiding than in the open].”

“[It won’t be long until that period gets outnumbered],” Khan muttered, still focused on his daughter.

“[True],” Liiza agreed, rocking the sleeping baby. “[I guess I can use it as a romantic tale for Yeza once she starts dating].”

Khan froze with a finger on his sleeping daughter. He lifted his glowing gaze, conveying genuine terror before his wife’s playful smile.

“[Doku, help out here],” Khan pleaded.

“[Your wife is friends with my wife],” Doku sighed, taking a long sip from his drink. “[She says jump, I ask how high].”

Doku pretended to have refused Khan, only for him to throw a sneaky wink at him. Of course, his eyes shone, so the gesture couldn’t possibly go unnoticed, but Liiza only giggled at it.

“[I’ll take care of the refills and leave you two plot strategies that will inevitably fail],” Liiza exclaid, her voice sweetening when she addressed Khan. “[Take our daughter for a while].”

Khan exchanged his empty cup for the bundled-up Yeza, carefully taking her in his arms while Liiza stood up. Doku also offered his drink to Liiza before she headed for the second cauldron that the trio had monopolized.

“[I feel sorry for whoever tries to date your daughter],” Doku muttered once Liiza got far enough.

“[No one will ever try],” Khan reassured, his voice becoming childish. “[Yeza only needs Papa in her life].”

“[Did you already decide how to raise her]?” Doku wondered.

“[We agreed to raise her like a Niqols],” Khan revealed.

“[Liiza decided and you couldn’t say no]?” Doku guessed.

“[Pretty much],” Khan admitted, gently rocking Yeza. “[But Papa will indoctrinate you on the human Princesses’ ways secretly].”

“[I don’t know how much that can work if she is anything like your wife],” Doku pointed out.

“[On whose side are you]?” Khan snorted, looking at Doku. “[I’ll really eradicate the universe’s male population at this pace].”

“[Look at you getting all fatherly],” Doku teased. “[Azni will nag for details once she hears about this].”

“[Maybe we should visit her ourselves],” Khan considered. “[I do want Yeza to see Nitis, maybe even get one of Snow’s children as her Aduns].”

Doku chuckled but knew those projects had to wait. He still didn’t know the details, but sothing big clearly was on the horizon, sothing that would delay any peaceful ti.

Those thoughts made Doku glance at the second cauldron. Liiza was late, but the few Niqols around her explained that delay. She seed to have succeeded in starting a conversation with Doku’s underlings, giving him the ti and privacy to ask more serious questions.

“[How bad is this stuff about the Scarlet Eyes]?” Doku asked, even if the current party had already provided an answer. The Elder would have never agreed to it otherwise.

“[Pretty bad],” Khan honestly replied. “[As things stand, I’m not sure we have a chance].”

[Even if everyone cooperates]?” Doku gasped.

“[I’m afraid so],” Khan confird. “[The problem is more technical than nurical, sadly].”

The regulated universe had many valiant warriors assisted by fearso weaponry, but all that was founded on the mana. After taking that energy out of the equation, those mighty forces would be virtually powerless.

“[Liiza and I will find a solution after eting the Nak],” Khan reassured. “[If we don’t, we’ll think of sothing. I’ll put the best brains from every species at my disposal on the task].”

“[Do you plan to bring Yeza to the Nak]?” Doku asked.

“[It’s too dangerous],” Khan instantly denied. “[I wouldn’t even bring Liiza, but she never gave a choice on the matter].”

“[Zalpa and that strange human brother of yours]?” Doku wondered.

“[The plan was to leave her with them],” Khan confird, peeking at Doku. “[But if things with the Niqols go well, I’d feel a lot safer leaving her to you all].”
