Chapter 1296: Fate

Wayne’s elent had always been stranger than most, if not the strangest Khan had ever t in his many encounters.

However, Khan had never thought too deeply about it. His mindset was quite broad, and he had seen all kinds of strange events throughout his life. He had lived with one for over two decades, too. Khan could accept that impossible answer since the mana didn’t seem to have a limit to what it could do.

Yet, Zalpa and Liiza appeared to be in agreent about that topic, and they were proper Shamans, so Khan felt inclined to believe them, but his doubts couldn’t stay silent.

“[Wayne was studied and experinted on for his entire life],” Khan revealed, questioning Liiza with his gaze. “[He even completed his attunent with mana. How can his elent still be in doubt]?”

It did sound truly impossible for the Global Army to have gotten that matter wrong for so long. Besides, Khan had witnessed the effects of Wayne’s elent firsthand. It was indeed hard to accept, but the empirical data was undeniable.

“[That does help explain it],” Liiza exclaid, the ntal connection betraying the sympathy behind her aloof face. “[Humans’ narrow-mindedness and repeated trauma might have twisted his elent, only making it show part of its nature].”

“[I’m the most traumatized soldier]!” Wayne laughed, sohow taking pride in that description.

“[How could he have not noticed it until now]?” Khan wondered, ignoring Wayne. “[He completed his rehabilitation inside George’s family. There would have been signs].”

Khan couldn’t know for sure since Wayne had yet to explain his journey inside the Ildoo family, but his guess sounded quite accurate, especially since he trusted George on the matter.

“[You share his condition],” Liiza sighed. “[Yours actually is far worse due to how stubborn you are and sothing else].”

“[Brother, you keep beating ],” Wayne exclaid, his tone happy despite the veiled complaint. “[And your Wife even reminded of that. She is as petty as you are].”

Liiza ignored the comnt, her eyes abruptly widening and illuminating Khan. Her light shone on his furrowed brow, highlighting the confusion she had caused.

“[Don’t ask , okay]?” Liiza whispered. “[I’m working on it, and it should beco easier once the baby is born].”

Khan was slightly lost. He didn’t forget how Liiza had claid to know the reason behind the Great Old One’s ominous prediction. Apparently, his mana had no future, and that was the exact reason why his arms were full of scars.

Theoretically, that was an issue Khan would prefer to fix as soon as possible, especially considering the imminent challenges. Yet, Liiza had asked him to trust her with it, and he had never been able to say no to her.

Nevertheless, Khan didn’t expect the matter to involve his very elent. That clue gave him plenty of ideas, but the pleading face in his vision made him suppress them.

“[I trust you],” Khan nodded, and the undeniable honesty conveyed through the ntal connection made Liiza forget about the situation and jump on his lips.

The public display of affection was short-lived since Liiza quickly recalled where she was. She stopped, unable to suppress her blush since her father was there, but changing the topic wasn’t exactly hard there.

“[How did your elent present itself until now]?” Liiza asked, pretending the previous kiss had never happened.

“[Things go bad around ],” Wayne explained. “[It was previously connected to my excitent, but I learned to control it better]!”

“[Did you ever have problems affecting living beings]?” Liiza questioned. “[Even a simple muscle spasm might have been too much].”

“[Now that I think about it],” Wayne admitted, tilting his head in thought. “[Ah, but there was that ti when Miss Solodrey had that adverse reaction].”

“[Her birth control flared],” Khan added details, “[But it was a harmless reaction. I have mostly seen him affect items, technology, or mana].”

Khan only wanted to help bring clarity to the topic, but the figure between his legs grew cold, affecting the environnt and highlighting his mistake.

“[Birth control, I see],” Liiza said, pointing a fake, chilling smile at Khan. “[You must have had a lot of fun with Miss Solodrey].”

“[I learned from Miss Solodrey that the girlfriend must pull down the boyfriend’s pants as soon as he gets ho],” Wayne declared, “[And that she was on the lewd end of the spectrum].”

Khan couldn’t scold Wayne while Liiza’s body grew increasingly cold. He honestly didn’t even dare to divert his gaze while she was staring so intensely at him. Still, everything ntioned during that exchange was technically true, so he couldn’t just deny it.

“[It was all to prepare never to need it again],” Khan stated, approaching Liiza’s ear to whisper in it. “[I know you don’t want him to be our last one].”

“[Her],” Liiza corrected, snorting, “[And that if I ever decide to open my legs for you again].”

“[Liiza],” Khan called. “[I can’t start in front of your father].”

Liiza scoffed, peeking behind her shoulder before addressing the topic one last ti. “[Don’t forget to get all cute and try when we are alone later].”

Khan chuckled, letting Liiza turn and adjust herself on him. She feigned ignorance again, restarting the previous conversation. “[What do you think]?”

“[I can’t be sure without tests],” Zalpa said, knowing the question was for her. “[It can go from re odds to fate].”

“[Odds]?” Khan wondered. “[And can fate truly be an elent]?”

“[Not in the human sense],” Liiza explained, leaning deeper into Khan’s torso. “[You can harness the universe’s intrinsic entropy. Odds wouldn’t be much different. As long as sothing has the potential to happen, he might be able to affect it].”

Khan had studied the subject and had conducted deeper research once his elent began to lean toward those fields. Still, the topic sounded broader when it ca to Wayne, and his mind started fuming when he considered the scientific implications.

“[As for fate],” Liiza continued, “[It has to do with the mana’s will. It’s not fate as you conceive it. It would be about the mana’s designs and the events it wants to make unfold].”

Most people would think Liiza had gone completely ntal, but Khan couldn’t deny her explanation. After all, he was the perfect example of the mana’s will and its influence on the universe.

That energy had compelled an entire species to launch genocidal attacks across the universe so Khan could accept that Wayne’s elent could share similar features. Yet, their implications remained unclear.

“[It must resonate with its surroundings for that],” Zalpa guessed. “[He might be an avatar or release an influence he isn’t aware of].”

Wayne couldn’t follow the conversation at all. However, he knew it was about him, and his excited face darted left and right as Zalpa and Liiza added more details.
