"Roger is not a rciful ruler; he takes no prisoners, just executes directly!"
Ernie Johnson watched Roger shout at Kobe after scoring, looked at Jas kneeling at Roger’s feet, and felt a chill in his heart.
In NBA history, no player has ever instilled such fear.
Bird, Magic, MJ... they all created so degree of fear in the league.
But the fear they created together is not even half of what Roger brings.
In the future? Surely, no player will ever create a similar sense of fear again.
Ernie Johnson thought he would never see such a scene again, never again.
Kobe Bryant and LeBron Jas, these two, one ranked second in the MVP standings, the other third. Both made the All-NBA First Team, leading the Lakers to sweep the entire league, effortlessly sweeping the 62-win Mavericks out.
You could say that without Roger, Kobe and Jas might just be the two most dominant players of this era.
They were already stepping onto the podium steps, but Roger’s appearance made the steps beneath them start to tremble.
At this mont, Roger’s domination of the league has undoubtedly reached its peak. Because the second and third in the league combined still cannot shake his position.
This is equivalent to the 1993 Charles Barkley and Hakeem Olajuwon combined still succumbing to Jordan.
Ernie Johnson believes such dominance will never be seen again; no player can simultaneously suppress both the second and third in the league.
Even if the league wants to forcefully promote a successor to Roger, giving him regulatory favors, allowing travel, giving overly advantageous whistles, helping in dia promotion, that person can never surpass Roger.
The GOAT debate in the basketball world is already without suspense, not only is there no suspense now, but there won’t be in the future. No other sport’s GOAT is as undisputed as it is in basketball.
Bill Simmons blew a whistle in the stands, thinking the Los Angeles Lakers have been completely defeated.
Chauncey Billups is deep in defensive turmoil, Dwight Howard struggling at the free-throw line, LeBron Jas kneeling on the ground.
Even if the Lakers still have a chance, given the current state of these key players, it’s very difficult for them to recover.
But Phil Jackson doesn’t think so, 1 minute and 29 seconds behind by 9 points is not an insurmountable gap. The Lakers cannot lose; their entire season’s efforts must not be in vain.
Kobe certainly hasn’t given up either. After the tiout, he returned to the bench, gritted his teeth, and slamd the seatback: "Hey, it’s not fucking over yet! We can’t give up, we can’t! If we give up, what the hell have we been doing all season!?"
After speaking, Kobe started naming nas one by one.
"Chauncey, at least your defense today has been pretty good, Brandon only scored 14 points, that’s all thanks to you! I know chasing and defending him is annoying, but that’s the ga, we didn’t co here for fun, we ca to win! Hang in there, hold him down in the last minute and a half! Damn it, you’re the FMVP! You’re only 32, are you willing to be eliminated!?"
Then, Kobe turned to face Howard: "Dwight, I don’t want to say much, but that fat guy in the stands is watching your jokes! You know he’s never looked up to you, do you want to be looked down on by that fool your whole life? Pull yourself together Dwight, if they foul you, calm down, take a deep breath, and shoot. It’s just fucking free throws, not rocket science, how hard can it be!?"
Dwight Howard glanced at Shaq in the stands. He’s not a petty person, but everyone needs respect. Over the years, O’Neal has always been sarcastic whenever he ntions Howard in public, always putting on a superior attitude, which indeed pisses Howard off.
And in the NBA, what can earn you respect? Champion.
Billups’ and Howard’s eyes already told Kobe they still wanted to fight.
They are not willing to just surrender like this.
Now, it’s Jas’ turn.
Kobe repeated the sentence to him for the third ti: "LeBron, what kind of person do you want to be? A hero? Or a lifelong clown? Or a coward kneeling on the ground?"
Unlike Billups and Howard, Jas had no reaction, no change in his emotions.
Kobe wondered if he had even listened.
To be honest, Kobe originally thought Jas was the one who needed the least persuasion.
If it were Kobe himself, humiliated to that extent, booed by the entire crowd, he would definitely fight back.
He could lose, but he would never allow himself to be humiliated.
But Jas seed to have already sacrificed his soul to the so-called basketball god, his eyes vacant, his face emotionless.
Phil Jackson also approached Jas: "Co on LeBron, bring us the victory! Go fierce!"
This ti, number 23 had a reaction.
He looked up, glanced blankly at Kobe and the Zen Master. Then, he bit his fingernail.
This scene happened to be captured in a TV close-up, Rich Paul watching the TV covered his head, muttering to himself.
"Damn it, we’re finished, it’s all over."
