The Golden State Warriors lead the Lakers 2-0, which ans the Lakers are already at the brink of life and death.
As the Beacon of Freedom for humanity, the United States has always had overly free security, which ans on an ordinary night, you might be forced into a life-or-death battle just stepping out.
The Lakers players are no different.
The Western Conference Finals have only just begun with two gas, and they’ve already faced a life-or-death battle.
In Ga 3 of the series, the Lakers have no way out.
Although the Warriors need to win four gas to advance, if the total score becos 3-0, the Lakers would be like a ponytail guy who doesn’t rely on the wall to eat. They might not die instantly, might struggle a bit more and even catch a cab to the hospital, but the outco of death is certain.
So, Kobe Bryant got up at four o’clock in the morning, preparing to head straight to the UCLA Health Center.
Today was ga day, in theory, he should rest well, but he couldn’t sleep at all.
In monts of crisis, one can hardly sleep peacefully, just like when Pentagon staffers found out China had placed two sixth-generation fighter jets during Christmas break, causing a traffic jam at the White House entrance at four in the morning.
Kobe went to the training ground at four in the morning; only basketball could temporarily calm him down.
Tonight is the most important night, Kobe ensures his state will not have any problems.
But what about soone else? LeBron Jas is always the Lakers’ biggest unknown. He perford well in the last ga, but ever since his crucial pass in Ga 1, Kobe couldn’t figure this man out.
Kobe kept shooting baskets, finding his shooting percentage getting worse and worse. He couldn’t focus; he was always thinking about Jas.
Finally, after missing five consecutive shots, Kobe stopped all his actions.
He decided to have one last talk with Jas before the ga began.
Seven o’clock in the evening, Staples Center, one of the most eye-catching basketball sanctuaries in the world.
Tonight, once again, the eyes of the world are gathered here.
LeBron Jas prepared for the ga alone in the locker room. He and Kobe hadn’t spoken in days; their relationship had beco nominal since the loss in Ga 1.
This even affected the Dream eight Team’s preparation. Coach K was already entangled over whether to bring both Kobe and Jas together. If these two really didn’t get along, putting them together might damage the Dream eight Team’s locker room.
The outco tonight decides everything; if the Lakers can defend and maintain a coback spark and eventually advance, Kobe and Jas’s conflict will naturally dissipate.
But if they lose tonight, not only will the Lakers be affected, the Dream eight Team will be implicated too.
Just as Jas was looking down tying his shoelaces, he saw Kobe take the initiative to sit beside him: "LeBron, got a mont?"
"What’s up?" Jas forced a smile, as if there had never been any conflict between them.
This was exactly what disgusted Kobe the most about him; that bastard was simply too hypocritical.
Back in 2006 with the Dream Team, Kobe thought Jas was easy to get along with, had a good impression of him.
But after becoming teammates this season, Kobe realized his ease of getting along was just because he always wore a mask of hypocrisy to cater to you.
He always pretends to be harmless, yet is always secretly scheming.
He’s as hypocritical as those bastards who dress up to watch ballet but are, heaven knows, appreciating sothing else in their hearts.
His interviews, his words and deeds, always openly or secretly emphasized one thing — this is my and Kobe’s team.
Kobe knew what Jas wanted, because what he wanted was exactly what Kobe wanted to get from O’Neal back then.
But now it’s too early, Kobe is only 30, he’s willing to give up his position in three or four years. But now? Jas isn’t qualified to compete with him.
After Ga 1, Kobe had actually straightforwardly told Jas what his position should be on the Lakers.
Want to be the owner of the Lakers? You first have to fulfill the duties of a Scottie Pippen.
He knew Jas must be angry about this, so when he saw Jas smiling, Kobe was extrely disgusted.
He and Shaq would never fake a smile, nor pretend to be good friends. They interacted as n do, solved problems as n do.
But Jas? He has never truly opened his heart to anyone, only fools would be deceived by his masked appearance, mistakenly thinking he was a good brother.
Kobe didn’t offer Jas a smile, still maintaining a straight face, wanting to convey to Jas with a serious expression this was a serious conversation: "I just want to make sure your goal is victory. You played great last ga; this ga, I’ll give you more opportunities on offense. I’ve said it, I don’t care about anything else, I just want to win Roger. Ultimately, this Lakers team will be yours."
Jas kept his smile, yeah, sooner or later it will be mine, the question is how soon.
Of course, Jas didn’t voice his thoughts. "The Godfather" teaches well, never let outsiders know what you’re thinking. Even if he’s only read the title page of the original, he’s watched the movie five or six tis.
"Of course, I’m fine; if I had a problem, I wouldn’t have chosen to sacrifice last ga."
At this mont, skier Radmanovic stood in front of Kobe and Jas; the locker next to Jas was his, and Kobe was sitting in front of his locker, making it impossible for him to get his stuff.
