Capítulo 1438: Chapter 450: Run Until You Can’t Run Anymore

Roy still had no expression. People say he is the Tim Duncan of the guard position, and they’re right.

He chose to directly press Kobe. After two bumps, Kobe suddenly took off, relying on his advantage in strength to force a drive, but he didn’t get any space. He had to take a forced fadeaway shot from zero angle.

Roy defended very well, very tight. But limited by his short wingspan, he couldn’t interfere with Kobe’s fadeaway, and the basketball went in. It was a beautiful solo play that even made Warriors fans want to cheer. Kobe narrowed the point gap to 1.

“If the Warriors lose tonight, you’ll definitely be the culprit.” Kobe continued to taunt Roy.

The ga reached another critical mont, but as soon as Roger got the ball, he was double-tead by Billups and Jas.

In all honesty, LBJ did contribute sothing in the second half; at least he didn’t zone out on defense.

Roger wanted to run through the gap the mont they closed in on him.

But his exhausted stamina greatly affected his explosiveness. He couldn’t break free and collided into Billups and Jas.

Roger didn’t act recklessly and passed the ball to Roy, who was slightly behind him.

As soon as Roy caught the ball, Kobe pressed up on him. Even though Roy was still far from the three-point line, Kobe wasn’t planning to make it easy for him.

“Co on, you bitch. Can soone who hides under Roger’s wing also be a winner? Dare to single out once? Besides catch-and-shoot, do you have any other way to score? You’re just a burden, Brandon. No one can raise a glass if you don’t show up at the Lakers’ victory party tonight.”

Roy said nothing. He had been silent the entire fourth quarter.

He wanted to pass the ball to Roger, but Billups was too tight on him.

So Roy used his hip to push away Kobe, did a fake move to the left. Kobe quickly stepped back, but Roy then sprinted in the opposite direction. Yet Kobe still followed quickly; Roy was not known for his explosiveness. Seeing he couldn’t shake off the defense, he stopped abruptly outside the three-point line, but Kobe wasn’t fooled, he quickly stopped and pressed on Roy again, applying intense pressure.

It was textbook-level one-on-one periter defense, and the shot clock was running down. The Lakers seed about to stop this attack and then take the lead.

Should he pass the ball? Roy could choose to pass, but there wasn’t much ti left. Even if he got the ball to Roger or another teammate, the only option left would be a forced shot.

Passing at this mont would be irresponsible.

However, Roger has excellent forced shot-making ability; he was born for these monts.

Roy faced a decision and didn’t have much ti.

“Keep the umbrella, use it to block Seattle’s rain.”

“Brandon, take the umbrella.”

“Still want Roger to hold the umbrella for you?”

“Tonight, it’s your turn to hold the umbrella.”

These thoughts flashed like lightning through Roy’s mind, and he made his decision.

He didn’t want to always rely on Roger to win!

So, after a quick stop, Roy quickly changed direction. He used his exquisite rhythm changes to make up for the lack of explosiveness, passing by Kobe and then facing Dwight Howard, lifted the basketball high, and gently flipped it in.

“Brandon! He scored against Kobe before the shot clock expired, helping the Warriors extend the lead back to 3 points with 27 seconds left! The Lakers’ attempt to overtake was once again thwarted! Mr. Clutch, Brandon is definitely Mr. Clutch, this guy didn’t flinch against the second-best shooting guard at the ti!” Mike Breen stood up and applauded; this was Brandon Roy’s heroic play.

After scoring, Roy smiled and pointed at Roger, mimicking holding an umbrella beside him.

“Here, to block Los Angeles’s rain.”

Roger smiled and raised his fist, bumping it with Roy’s.

Matt Barnes applauded on the side. Now he’s sure that kid definitely has what it takes to take over the scepter.

The Lakers were trailing by 3 points with only 27 seconds left in the ga. Phil Jackson called a tiout and set up a play for Kobe.

But his play was easily guessed by Spoelstra. When inbounding, the Warriors cut off all of Kobe’s receiving routes, leaving the ball only to that guy, LeBron Jas.

This was an extrely dramatic scene. LBJ, who had disappeared for an entire quarter, suddenly had a full presence at the most critical mont.

The whole world was watching him. This shot decided the Lakers’ fate and the outco of this basketball hype battle.

Infinite pressure ca from all directions. Roger spread his arms and patted the floor with both hands: “Here’s your chance to kill , prove you’re not a coward.”

Then, Roger still defended the shot traditionally, not the drive, giving Jas decent shooting space.

Kobe watched Jas. Would he turn the tide like Brandon Roy just did?

LBJ waved his hand, signaling everyone to clear out, then continuously dribbled between his legs.

Mike Breen’s blood pressure soared: “LeBron is going to take on Roger one-on-one, LeBron is going to save the ga!!!”

It was incredibly dramatic. Jas had the chance to erase all previous stains with one possession.

Ti ticked away. When there were only 5 seconds left on the shot clock, Jas accelerated and sprinted.

But Roger had an excellent sense of distance, always staying in front of Jas, blocking the driving lane, only giving a bit of shooting space.

Jas stopped abruptly. Kobe watched the basketball, praying that Jas could hit the shot.

The next second, Kobe’s eyes widened.

In his 12-season career, he’d never seen anything so outrageous because the basketball didn’t fly towards the basket but towards Kobe.

LeBron Jas, with the floor cleared, after dribbling for twenty seconds, ended up… passing!?

Kobe caught it and hurriedly shot, but the basketball clanked off the rim, and the Lakers missed their last chance.

It was the first ti Roger looked down on an opponent so much and the first ti he pitied Kobe so deeply.

“Run away, coward, run until you can’t run anymore. That’s why I say, not having you is my biggest advantage.”
