Capítulo 1417: Chapter 444: FO! FO! FO! FO!
In the second round, the Warriors’ opponent will be the winner between the Hornets and the Spurs.
In the third round, it’s either the Mavericks or the Lakers.
Then in the finals, the opponent will undoubtedly be the New York Knicks, who strengthened their roster and ended up with 68 wins.
Fans and dia are excited because the playoff matchups this year are full of anticipation.
The Warriors are strong, but there’s still a chance of a 73-win upset. The strengthened Spurs, Super Lakers, the defensively improved Mavericks, and the Knicks with no apparent weaknesses—none of these teams are easy to deal with.
Maybe the Warriors’ series will often be dragged to the sixth ga, or there might even be a ga seven.
But when reporters asked Roger about his expectations for the playoffs, he told the reporters, “I want to play with more dominance than in the regular season.”
This is an even more arrogant answer than “I want to win the championship” because the Warriors already achieved 73 wins in the regular season. More dominant than 73 wins? What kind of performance would that be?
A sweep? A gentleman’s sweep? In any case, winning and winning dominantly are not the sa.
As a man of action, Roger demonstrated his aning in the first round.
In the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Warriors swept 4-0 to advance, winning by an average of 22.5 points per ga. Not a single ga saw the Trail Blazers narrowing the gap to single digits.
After the fourth ga, during the courtside interview, Roger imitated Moses Malone’s tone and shouted into the cara, “FO! FO! FO! FO!”
“FO! FO! FO!” is the classic slogan of the 1983 champion 76ers’ star center Moses Malone, with “FO” representing “four,” and three “FOs” signifying a sweep in all three rounds.
Moses Malone nearly accomplished it, as the top team of each division got a bye in the first round under the rules back then. So Moses Malone started directly from the second round. His team swept New York 4-0, gentleman swept the Bucks 4-1, and swept the Lakers 4-0 to win the championship.
But now, Roger’s shout included one more “FO.”
All the reporters were stunned.
Roger has done sothing similar before; that was in the sumr of 2000, when the Atlanta Hawks beca the first team in history to win the championship with an undefeated playoff run. But because the first round only had three gas back then, the Hawks’ playoff record was 15-0.
Now Roger wants a 16-0 record? Is this what he ant by a postseason more dominant than 73 wins?
All the fans in front of the TV had goosebumps.
Because it’s not just about winning one more ga.
If Roger can really do it, there’s no doubt.
His silhouette will beco the unreachable ceiling of the basketball world.
—————–
Roger is great, but Tim and I are not bad either. A sweep? Not likely. In fact, we will win.——Paul Gasol discussing Roger’s sweep declaration.
Roger might not even win four gas in Los Angeles, I won’t let that happen, I promise.——LeBron Jas comnted with a smile on Roger’s “FO! FO! FO! FO!” slogan.
If anyone else said this, I would send them to a ntal institution. But Roger? We’ll see.——Charles Barkley discussing the possibility of a 16-0 playoff record.
Assuming there’s a list here of the most dominant basketball players you’ve t in your life, undoubtedly Roger would top that list. I believe he can do it; he is committed to leaving a ruthless domination in his final season, that’s his goal. Nothing will stop him, no matter what he will achieve it.——Bill Simmons’ column.
Originally, I didn’t believe Roger could do it at all, even if he could sweep the Spurs, how would he sweep the Super Lakers? But when LeBron said, “I promise,” I knew, this thing is settled.——Shaquille O’Neal reluctantly replied in an interview.
