Roger laughed while stretching his waist.
"After Shaq t you, he realized what an excellent teammate I am. You’ll have a day like that too. After you et LeBron, your lousy teammate, you’ll find that Shaq wasn’t so bad after all."
The anger in LeBron Jas’s heart kept burning; the word "teammate" sounded too harsh to him.
"Shut the hell up, Roger," LeBron Jas couldn’t help but interject, "Tonight’s result will say it all!"
"What are you barking about? Was I talking to you? You got beaten by so badly that you ran crying to Kobe for justice. The whole world knows the truth; you and Kobe are like the relationship between Bonasera, the funeral parlor owner, and the Godfather at the beginning of the ’Godfather’ movie. They are both called friends, but their statuses are worlds apart.
Only you deceive yourself into thinking you and Kobe are equal. From the day you chose to cling to Kobe, you lost the right to speak to as an equal, so shut up—I’m talking to your master."
Roger hadn’t used a single swear word, yet had scolded LeBron Jas in a way that made his heart bleed.
"LeBron and I are equals," Kobe imdiately stood up, "That’s not for you to judge."
"Alright," Roger smiled, "I’ll say Brandon and I are equals too. I hope you’ll show what equality is with actions, because I’ll definitely do so."
Roger dampened the Lakers’ spirit and simultaneously encouraged Brandon Roy.
Roger really wasn’t worried about Roy at all.
He wasn’t even worried about his health.
Before the season began, the Warriors’ head physician, Chelsea Lane, evaluated Roy’s physical condition. Last season, he received strict protection due to not being accustod to this level of competition.
But this season, Chelsea Lane believes Roy’s health won’t be a fatal issue.
He still needs a certain degree of load managent, but he is expected to miss fewer than 10 gas this season.
This is akin to removing the last ticking ti bomb on Brandon Roy, aning he can get more playing ti.
As for him, Roger has no concerns.
Just by performing normally, he can provide significant help to Roger.
The referee starts the ga, and the match finally begins.
Amar’e Stoudemire’s athletic ability is already astonishing, but Dwight Howard’s leap speed is even better.
He seized the ball for the Lakers first, Chauncey Billups controlled the ball.
Kobe Bryant and LeBron Jas were at the two 45° positions respectively, Billups and Howard executed a pick and roll.
Howard’s screen was rock solid, making it difficult for Brandon Roy to go around it imdiately; Amar’e Stoudemire switched to delay Billups.
Once Roy returned quickly, Amar’e Stoudemire imdiately turned to chase Howard.
But just as he turned, Dwight Howard had already jumped into the air.
Simultaneously, Billups had thrown the basketball out.
No one could intercept this pass mid-air; Kobe and Jas drew too much defensive attention while Stephen Jackson guarded Radmanovic. The "skier" might not be a superstar, but his three-point threat couldn’t be underestimated.
Dwight Howard easily grabbed the ball with one hand and hamred it into the basket.
A typical Lakers offense: passing, coordination, gorgeous, spectacular.
For many years, the Los Angeles Lakers hadn’t been the final winners. But if fans had to choose the most entertaining team to watch, the majority would choose the Los Angeles Lakers.
Dwight Howard displayed his signature smile and hugged Chauncey Billups’s bald head, giving it a peck.
In the first round of the new season, neither Kobe nor Jas ended the attack; they seed to be intentionally showing Roger that pre-ga statent: "We are equals."
Chauncey Billups could handle the ball, Dwight Howard could score, Kobe and Jas could help spread the court.
They were a team—a self-sacrificing, tightly-knit team.
Kobe glanced at Roy, who had failed to quickly bypass the screen, leading to a defensive collapse: "Brandon, are you with Roger too? No, you are precisely the biggest weakness beside him."
Kobe had no grudge against Roy; in fact, he appreciated the young guy.
But he knew Brandon Roy was under imnse pressure, and if he could break his ntality, the ga would be much easier.
Kobe was rely returning the favor, understanding that Roger was just attacking LBJ’s mindset a mont ago.
Let’s see whose teammate collapses first!
Confronted with Kobe’s trash talk, Brandon Roy remained unfazed.
He dribbled past the half-court, calmly directing the offense against Billups’ aggressive defense.
Chauncey Billups tried to intercept, only to have Roy seize the opportunity, using a masterful crossover to get past him.
Chauncey Billups was a seasoned veteran who disliked risky steals.
Just now, he did have a good opportunity.
After all, Roy was a 198-cm shooting guard, and Billups thought his ball-handling couldn’t be that smooth and excellent.
But Brandon Roy didn’t allow Billups to succeed. After driving to a spot a step beyond the free-throw line, Roy stopped abruptly, preparing for a mid-range shot.
