Hearing the loud gunshot, Dongi naturally turned around and cried out, her lover's instinct telling her to run towards him, "Wuxing!" She didn't need to pretend as she was really concerned after seeing a bloody hole in his chest. Wasn't he supposed to be shot safely by a sailor!?? How co there is an additional shooter?
She wouldn't be panicking this much if everything went according to their plan but this scenario definitely wasn't what was supposed to happen. What was worse, the wound was right in the middle of his heart which bothered her even more than ever, freezing her mind.
She didn't exactly know how Wuxing's ability worked but she believed that heart and brain were two vital points that would kill everyone if shot.
Dongi imdiately wriggled out of her mother's embrace and planned to rush towards Wuxing only to be grabbed by Guan i right after.
"Mom! Let go!" She yelled at her mother, not believing that she was actually stopping her. Wuxing painful expression and pale face were enough for Dongi to act montarily. There wasn't much ti to react in such accidents and with such a delay, the patient would die any ti soon if not treated right away.
Of course, there was already a very little chance to survive after a gunshot wound to the heart but Dongi believed Wuxing could hold on for a while.
Guan i naturally didn't listen to her daughter, grasping her tightly but unfortunately, she wasn't in her peak form like Dongi, almost letting her get away and only when Guan Dong ca to the rescue, were they able to hold their daughter down.
Even with her body immobilized, she didn't stop struggling as she desperately tried to escape, shouting the whole ti, "Let goooo!!! I need to help him!" She didn't know when but her eyes also started watering, her gaze directed at her mother whose heart tightened after seeing such desperation in her daughter's eyes.
They didn't plan anything like that yet so they were also surprised for such a turn of events and even Guan Dong wasn't happy with that as he yelled towards the Captain on the destroyer ship, "Who the hell took the shot?!!"
He obviously was mad that soone dared to shoot in the spot so close to them. Wuxing wasn't even five ters away from them and soone dared to shoot him. Just to be sure, he pulled both struggling Dongi and his wife to safety as he glared angrily at the Navy Captain.
The one in question naturally paled and instantly cried out behind him towards his own crew, "Who was it?! I said hold the fire! Are you guys deaf!?" He naturally didn't plan to let anyone hold him responsible for everything, quickly shifting the bla to soone else, trying to find the culprit.
'Damn, it hurts!' anwhile, Wuxing was going through the pains of being shot in the heart, not lying that it actually didn't. He didn't waste ti, repairing his heart right away while forcing the bullet out of his body before catching it as he grasped his chest with a painful expression.
The sailor who was supposed to shot him upon seeing his sign couldn't help but gulp, not expecting such turn of events. He was told that Wuxing has a thin vest underneath his shirt filled with blood bags that would look like he was shot for real so he didn't worry about this highly paid mission but now with an unexpected shot, Wuxing didn't look like he was acting.
As if Wuxing lost his mind, he raised his Beretta while aiming at the destroyer ship and cursed while glaring at the riflen, "Fuck! Who did this?!"
Bang! Bang! Wuxing didn't hesitate to pull the trigger, the bullet hitting the tal fra of the ship, creating many sparks as they bounced away. The riflen who were standing the closest to the railings quickly hid behind the cover, preparing their own rifles to fight back but the Navy Captain quickly yelled as he also fell to the ground, "Hold the fire! Don't shoot!"
He didn't expect that Wuxing wound suddenly go crazy but secretly he was happy, the current situation giving him more options and excuses he could use later.
Seeing no targets on their side, Wuxing turned to their own sailors as he called out angrily, "Was it soone from you fuckers?!" He glared at them, suddenly locking his gaze at one of the sailors as he continued investigating, "Maybe it was you, long nose?!"
Bang! Another bullet was shot from Wuxing's gun, missing one more ti as it hit the floor of the ship, passing through the thin tal with more easiness then the two shots before.
Dongi was struggling to escape from her parent's embrace just a mont ago but when she saw Wuxing acting according to the plan as if the shot in the heart didn't bother him at all, she realised that he was actually alright which cald her a lot. She still called out to him with worry in her voice, "Wuxing! Stop it already!"
Guan Dong might have been a dick most of the tis but when it ca to protecting his family, he didn't care about his own life and hid both of his won behind his back as he shouted, "Stay hidden! Don't move!"
Bang! Bang!
Another two shots got fired right after his warning, this ti sounding much different as if shot with another gun which made Guan Dong turned around his head to check out the situation. What he saw was a sailor aiming his rifle at Wuxing and two additional holes which were already oozing blood on Wuxing's chest.
"Cough!" Wuxing staggered a few ters backwards as he coughed, raising his gun at the shooting sailor while cursing, "Fucker!"
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Another three bullets were shot at Wuxing's torso, forcing him a few steps back but surprisingly, he was still standing, the desire to live and get revenge at the shooter visible in his eyes. His white shirt was almost wholly covered in blood at this point.
"Stop them!" Guan i cried out to her husband, feeling Dongi's body turning cold. She even started shivering which ultimately convinced her that Dongi's love for Wuxing was real.
Even with six gunshot wounds, Wuxing still tried to raise his gun, obviously much slower than before but his determination didn't die down. Until... the last bullet travelled through the air, hitting him in the belly.
"Cough, cough!" Wuxing this ti coughed blood, his gun dropping to the ground as he staggered backwards, his eyes half-closed from the blood loss. Not catching the balance, he finally hit the railings and as he was tall, he naturally flipped through them without looking, falling out of the board.
"Noooooooo!" Dongi cry could be heard all around the three ships as she finally escaped from their parents after her father loosened the grip around her and she didn't hesitate to ran up to the railings.
Splash!
The board wasn't that far from the water surface so Wuxing hit it relatively quickly, the sound of water splashing reaching everyone.
"Dongi! Wait!" Guan Dong imdiately rushed after her as he called out sternly to the sailors, "Drop down your rifles!" The Captain also appeared at that mont, his face pale from the lone thought of having a gunfight on his ship and copied Guan Dong, "Hold your fire, you idiots! Who is shooting?!"
When he checked the scene, he noticed the blood on the floor and strangely, Wuxing was missing. His mind in a flash assuming the worst-case scenario.
"Could it be that—" The captain thought out loud, not able to finish the sentence in the end as Dongi cried out with tears falling down on her cheeks, "Wuxing!" She was half pretending half actually worried for his life, knowing he received seven bullets in the chest. Dongi's panic quickly confird Captain's theory of what was going on.
She looked down at the water while hanging on the railings, Dongi tried to spot him but just as she expected, all she saw were rings of water after the fall spreading outward with no sight of Wuxing's body.
Her father also caught up to her, looking down at the water and quickly commanded to the Navy Captain, "What are you waiting for!? Get him out of the water! He must be under the ship!" He wanted to get the shooter handled as well but then he noticed her daughter stepping on the railings and preparing to jump after Wuxing which switched his priorities for now.
"Idiot! What are you doing!?" He didn't hesitate to scold Dongi as he pulled her back on the board, halting her movents. He was actually surprised how much Dongi would do for Wuxing. He didn't see that earlier through the calls but now it was very clear. Just by looking at her teary eyes, he felt guilty for what he wanted to do.
"Let go of ! He will drown if we don't take him out!" Dongi naturally struggled, glaring hatefully at her father. She was really mad Wuxing had to go through all of that just because her father didn't want to accept him and even yelled, releasing her pent up emotions, "It's all your fault! If he dies, I will never forgive you!"
She knew this will for sure happen as Wuxing was supposed to run away but her father still deserved it. Everything he did to separate them will always haunt him forever as she will definitely not forget about it.
Seeing her daughter's hateful gaze, it hit Guan Dong harder than he thought it would. He suddenly let go of Dongi and started undressing, taking off his suit jacket before climbing onto the railings without saying a word.
Now it was Dongi and her mother's ti to get confused as they both called out at the sa ti, "What are you doing?!"
Guan Dong only took the life ring hanging on the railings and called out to his wife with complicated emotions written on his face, "Hold her, I will get him back." After those words, he jumped straight into the water, leaving the two dumbfounded.
Unfortunately for him, Wuxing was already far away from that spot, already hiding behind the second destroyer on the other side of the boat.
'Haha, it seems that Guan Dong had a sudden change of faith and is coming to your rescue. What a nice father-in-law you have.' Devil Face comnted sarcastically, watching the scene in Wuxing's stead.
'How do you know?' Wuxing asked as he focused on fixing all the wounds on his body. He only clogged all seven on them so that the water wouldn't pour inside them but there was still so tissue to repair inside of him.
Devil Face was in a really good mood today so he didn't mind to reply back, 'I can naturally see everything around you. Even your past mories and thoughts if I wish to. You are just fortunate that I'm too lazy to do that.'
Wuxing didn't actually mind that as it wasn't his concern at that ti. Dongi was the main issue he was anxious about and quickly asked, 'Oh, that's good. How is Dongi? I didn't have ti to tell her about that sniper. She must be worried a bit.'
'Dongi? She cried a bit but seems to realise you are fine. She is now pretending in front of her parents. Even I would be convinced.' Devil Face related shortly the sequence of events.
'As long as she is fine… We will et soon anyway. Alright, I'm done. Ti to reach the land before they find .' Wuxing sighed in relief and took his bloodied shirt off after finally being done with his wounds. He didn't know if there are any sharks in the area and he definitely didn't want to attract any with his blood.
Taking a very deep breath, he dived once again. Feeling how fast he was moving with mbranes in between of his fingers and provisional fins he made on his feet required him to praise himself, 'So good. I guess the possibilities are endless.'
The only disadvantage this move had was his lack of energy, not knowing if he will have enough to reach the land but he believed the trade was worthy.
