"Scarlet!" Wuxing called out after Scarlet but she ignored him while running towards the balcony. He felt an imdiate urge to chase after her but he stopped himself to check on Dongi.
"You should go after her," Dongi comnted before he even spoke and assured, "I'm fine, don't worry about ."
"How can I not worry about you?" Wuxing asked while trying to hold her hand but Dongi pushed him away.
"I would be lying if I said that Scarlet's slap in the face didn't affect , but I'm fine. My ntality has always been strong and obstacles like her are a common occurrence," Dongi explained as she climbed up to face him. "I'm more worried about you since you were placed in a complicated situation. Just know that I'm not mad at you and I know it's hard for you too."
"It shouldn't be hard…" Wuxing muttered upset. "You are my future wife and I want to prioritize your happiness."
"I know," Dongi nodded with a smile and caressed his face. "It would be easy if we lived as normal people but we are not. Our background and contracts with spirits force us to adapt. I have already accepted that you have to share your body with other won so I can also accept other won loving you. Miss Elizabeth was right. As long as I'm weak, I can't do anything about it."
Wuxing couldn't help but feel guilty yet he couldn't control his emotions. His feelings for Scarlet were as genuine as the ones for Dongi and he couldn't stop them no matter what he did.
"We can't simply run away and enjoy our love so let's give in, at least for now. You are the glue that holds this team together and we cannot let it fall apart. Do whatever you need to help us grow and I will turn a blind eye to your actions," Dongi decided before finally pushing him off the bed. "Go now. I might not care about Miss Elizabeth but I still care about Scarlet.
She must feel guilty for everything and might do sothing stupid."
Wuxing wasn't fully convinced by Dongi's words but after recalling Scarlet's expression, he kissed her and got on his feet. "I will find and bring her back but we can't leave it as it is."
Dongi threw his boxers at him and got up as well. "Tell when you are back. I will take a shower."
Seeing how nonchalant Dongi acted actually eased Wuxing's mind and he rushed towards the balcony in the middle of buttoning his pants. Scarlet was nowhere to be found but fresh footprints in the sand led him toward the beach.
He expected to see her running alongside the seashore only to frown at the sight of multiple people blocking her way. It seed like the other mbers of the top 10 were having a small party on the beach and she bumped into them while running aimlessly.
"Scarlet!" Wuxing shouted after her while sprinting towards her and Scarlet looked back. She panicked seeing him coming and ran straight into two buff n.
They caught her arms in laughter and she struggled to break free. "Let go of !"
Wuxing has never run as fast as that ti but before he could even reach them, his eyes widened at the sight of two n being sent flying. Scarlet used her ability for the first ti and looked down at her hands as if she feared her own power.
"She is an Ability User!" the crowd shouted in surprise as they distanced from her. "Black Skull was right!"
Only then did Wuxing see their faces and found out they belonged to the Black Skull's gang. They imdiately prepared to fight when they saw him but Wuxing ignored them and focused on Scarlet.
"Scarlet, don't be scared, you are safe," Wuxing called out as he stopped a few ters away from her but Scarlet only shuddered at his voice.
"No! Don't co close!" Scarlet warned in distress as she turned back to face him and took a few steps back. "She will hurt Dongi... I don't want to hurt her…"
"Don't worry… She won't do anything to her," Wuxing assured softly while walking up. "Can't you see it? You are in control now. You are the one who decides on your future."
He tried to calm her down but Scarlet kept moving away from him.
"No, I'm not," Scarlet shook her head repeatedly. "She is too powerful. I can't stop her. If I don't do anything, she will hurt big sis and I can't let that happen."
Scarlet didn't let him convince her more and suddenly sprinted towards the sea without stopping no matter what he said. Waves splashed against her legs but Scarlet ran ahead blindly.
"Scarlet, stop!" Wuxing cried out after her and hugged her tightly when the water reached up to their thighs. "What are you trying to do?!"
"I'm going to end it. I don't want a power that hurts the ones I love," Scarlet replied determinedly and tried to jerk herself away but Wuxing didn't take any of her tantrums. He knew she didn't even listen to him so he just held her still until she stopped struggling.
"Are you done running away? Can we talk?" Wuxing asked calmly and Scarlet sniffed with her nose while turning around to hug him.
"She said she will help resolve everything…" Scarlet muttered upset while tightening her arms. "She said you will accept my love but she only made it worse… I would never threaten to kill those I love… If that's the only way to get your love, I would rather disappear from this world… At least I won't be able to hurt anyone this way…"
"Scarlet…" Wuxing whispered her na while caressing her back. "Do you know how hurt we would be if you disappeared from this world? You say you don't want to hurt us but you are trying to do exactly that. Please never think of such ideas ever again."
"Us…?" Scarlet repeated confused. "Is big sis not mad at ?"
"Why would she be mad at you? She was the one who told to go after you and bring you back safely," Wuxing inford. "Maybe she doesn't like your spirit but she cares about you just as much as I do. We want the best for you and nothing will break our bond."
"…" Scarlet gazed at him speechlessly and sniffed again while looking down embarrassed. "I am stupid… I even revealed Miss Elizabeth's power to them…"
"That's not that big of a deal. Also, it's not her power but yours. She is only in control because you let her," Wuxing corrected while letting go and pointing at the beach. "You just displayed that you can control your power. All you need is training. Once you can master your power, you can use it to protect those you love.
Instead of hurting, you will help them instead. Why would you hate your power if it can help you do good?"
"Mhmm…" Scarlet nodded and hugged Wuxing again. "I am sorry. I won't do it again."
"I know you won't," Wuxing nodded and kissed her deeply. "That kiss sealed the deal. Now you have to stay by our side forever."
Scarlet wiped her face from tears and finally smiled, "I love you. I will work it out with big sis. We will be happy together."
Wuxing paused for a second and replied while kissing her on the forehead. "I love you too. Now let's get back."
They were still deep in the water while the Black Skull's gang was staring at them from the beach. Thankfully, they seed more fearful than aggressive and withdrew to their house as soon as Wuxing stepped on the beach.
He gazed after them to count them up and whispered, "Dongi, can you spy on them?"
