"Mom, are you really coming over?"

After taking a shower, Liu Xin’an sat on the sofa, chatting with his mom about the eting with his uncle yesterday.

After parting with his uncle yesterday, he had forgotten to call his mom to ask about this matter, and then he rushed to go live streaming.

After resting for a night, he suddenly rembered that he hadn’t asked his mom about it yet.

In the tablet screen, Park Jinsuk was all smiles, and even from a great distance, Liu Xin’an could sense his mom’s cheerful mood.

"When are you coming? I’ll co to pick you up then," he said.

"In a couple of days. Your uncle is busy these days. He said after he’s done with his things in these two days, he’ll let co over," she replied.

"...Even though I’m really happy that you are willing to put the past behind and co over to see , treating and my uncle differently really upsets ."

Liu Xin’an was truly upset about this; he had frequently invited his mom, yet she always refused.

But a single phone call from his uncle had persuaded her.

He suddenly felt like he wasn’t his mom’s favorite person anymore.

"Go on, stop talking nonsense. What do you an by treating differently? Are the two situations comparable?" she chided.

"Ah, what about dad? Is dad also coming over?" he asked.

"Your dad is too busy. I will co by myself. This trip is just for leisure, nothing serious... By the way, can your uncle’s status help Juhyun in any way?" she inquired.

Liu Xin’an froze and shook his head.

He had not discussed this with Bae Juhyun or his uncle, but as far as he knew, even though his uncle was a big shot in the entertainnt industry, the issues Bae Juhyun was facing likely couldn’t be helped by him.

Or rather, it would be strange if he could help.

"Mom, Juhyun and my uncle aren’t from the sa company. It’s not that simple," he explained.

"Then why not have Juhyun switch to his company? That shouldn’t be difficult, right?" she suggested.

"...You should just let uncle show you around and have fun. Don’t stir up trouble," he said resignedly.

"Oh! You stinker, am I not thinking about helping you and Juhyun?" she retorted.

"You’re just making things worse."

Muttering these words, Liu Xin’an quickly hit the mute button.

Then he saw his mom’s lips moving on the screen.

Without turning on the sound, Liu Xin’an knew that his mom was scolding him in a mix of Chinese and Korean.

It was all too familiar: not listening, getting too big to scold, a whole series of tear-jerking grievances.

After a while, seeing his mom take a sip of water and pause for a break, Liu Xin’an turned the sound back on, his face filled with remorse.

"Alright, Mom, I’m going to work if there’s nothing else," he said.

"Wait, where’s Juhyun?"

"She’s at work. She’s very busy," he explained.

Bae Juhyun had indeed gone to the company early in the morning to prepare for work-related matters.

Last night, she had shared the coback news she received from Director Kim with the mbers, and they had agreed to et at the company today to talk to the choreographer and vocal coach.

They wanted to hear the demo at least; once they had the demo, the choreography would probably start.

Although the scheduled coback date was still a full five months away, considering it was their first return in nearly two years, it was impossible not to take it seriously.

"This early? It’s just past nine o’clock there, isn’t it?" she asked.

"Mom, regular staff work roughly from nine to six too. Why would you think soone like Juhyun, an artist, would go to work whenever she wants?" he reasoned.

"Forget it, I’m not curious. I’ll just have my brother take to see so artists. Go on to work, I’m off to work too," she said.

"What job do you have?" he asked.

Liu Xin’an imdiately regretted asking because he had guessed his mom’s ’job’.

His mom did have a ’job,’ but her inco was pretty unstable.

Sotis it was a few tens of dollars a day.

Sotis it was a negative few tens of dollars a day.

Her ’job’... was all about luck.

———

Sitting in front of the computer, Liu Xin’an did not start the live stream right away but logged into his WeChat on the computer first.

He had many content creators in his WeChat, and now, he was going to ask so professional ones.

After finding Mu Shang’s WeChat, Liu Xin’an opened the chat window and sent a short ssage.

"You there?"

To Liu Xin’an’s surprise, Mu Shang responded imdiately.

"What’s up, Anzi bro?"

He and Mu Shang had exchanged contact information before, so Mu Shang knew this was his WeChat.

And now he was contacting Mu Shang because...

Mu Shang was a legitimate professional host from a television station.

Considering that he might really be taking part in that variety show organized by the website soon, getting so advice from a professional host was essential.

Mu Shang, who had shifted to being a video blogger, was the closest and friendly contact he had.

Yes... although it had been a long ti since Mu Shang had hosted a formal show, he had hosted plenty of events on the site over the years.

Definitely much better than him, who had no idea about hosting!

Asking the expert would definitely be the right move.

"I want to ask you sothing. If I really get to participate in that variety show the website is planning, should I learn so hosting skills? Aren’t you a professional host? Do you have any recomnded books you could share with ?"

Since they were close, Liu Xin’an simply stated his purpose to Mu Shang and quietly sat in front of the computer waiting for a reply.
