We’re all adults here, there’s no need for any useless soul-cleansing talk.

After a late-night snack, Liu Xin’an kicked Li Chenglu out and hurried to tidy up.

Bae Juhyun mustn’t find out about this sneaky midnight snack, or she’d definitely make a fuss.

Of course, he also didn’t want Bae Juhyun to know about his current worries.

The girl already had a lot of pressure in her daily life, and he didn’t want to add any unnecessary burden.

After throwing away what needed to be thrown away and brushing his teeth again, Liu Xin’an snuck back into Bae Juhyun’s bedroom.

Just as he had anticipated, Bae Juhyun hadn’t woken up, still maintaining her earlier posture.

He carefully lay down and gently placed her soft, boneless hand back into his palm.

"Mmm..."

Bae Juhyun murmured in her sleep, instinctively snuggling closer to him.

As she inhaled the familiar and comforting scent, a satisfied smile finally appeared on her face.

———

Nearly a week later, Liu Xin’an and Bae Juhyun landed at Incheon Airport in Seoul once again.

They were as cautious returning as they had been when they left, but luckily, this privately arranged trip went unnoticed by passersby. The two smoothly made their way into Kang Seulgi’s car.

"Juhyun, did you two plan this, waiting to co back just when I’m off?"

Kang Seulgi was genuinely suspicious that these two were up to sothing.

Leaving was one thing, but returning during her break too?

Having not seen Bae Juhyun for six days, she missed her dear sister and friend. Bae Juhyun smiled and coaxed Kang Seulgi, "I brought you a gift, and I’ll treat you to dinner later, okay?"

Seulgi nodded in agreent, then looked up at Liu Xin’an in the rearview mirror.

"I owe you a al too."

Alright, now Seulgi was content.

After driving them ho, Seulgi didn’t leave either; she just stayed at Juhyun’s place.

"What’s this?"

"A cheongsam, a beautiful traditional dress from China."

Kang Seulgi picked up the blue-green cheongsam, held it up to herself, and her eyes lit up.

"Doesn’t it look like it’s from those old Chinese movies?"

"You’d need to do your hair for it, the current style doesn’t match at all."

Seulgi shrugged. She knew that, but the Chinese style outfit... it was quite intriguing.

"How was your ti in China?"

"It was great, very interesting, with so much delicious food that I couldn’t try it all."

Talking about the trip, Juhyun got excited, and she started taking out various duck delicacies she had bought before boarding the plane.

They were well-preserved, so despite the air transport, these duck delicacies remained in perfect condition.

But for Seulgi, duck delicacies were quite exotic.

Especially when Juhyun called them delicious, Seulgi showed a clearly disdainful expression.

"It’s really tasty, I swear it’s really good, Seulgi, you have to trust ."

Seulgi wrinkled her nose, thought for a while, and eventually, her curiosity about Chinese cuisine won over her reluctance.

Using just her thumb and index finger, she gingerly picked up a piece of dark brown, curved duck neck, brought it close to her nose, and lightly sniffed.

After catching the enticing spicy scent, she cautiously put it in her mouth and chewed. Her eyes lit up.

The sweet and spicy flavor was sothing she liked, except...

"Ugh, so many bones."

"It’s the duck’s neck, after all."

"... Duck... what?"

Juhyun pursed her lips, trying hard not to laugh.

"Neck."

"..."

Seulgi’s expression turned blue then white. Finally, she sighed and picked up another piece of duck neck.

It was hard to accept.

But damn, it was delicious.

Really tasty!

After quickly gathering the clothes that needed washing and throwing them into the laundry bin, Juhyun smoothed out her long hair and flipped it to one side, then looked at Seulgi.

"Are you staying over tonight?"

"I’m fine with it. I don’t have any events until tomorrow afternoon, so I can sleep in the morning."

"Then stay over. Liu Xin’an can treat us to dinner tonight."

There was no reason to refuse. Seulgi nodded and took out her phone, glancing at Juhyun.

"Seungwan’s free too. Should we call her?"

"Sure, what about Yerin?"

Juhyun didn’t ask about Sooyoung because her sister was busy with filming and really couldn’t find the ti.

Every day, watching Sooyoung share photos from the set in the group chat, it genuinely made Juhyun, who had looked after her since their debut, feel heartbroken.

So she planned to send a coffee truck to her hardworking sister on behalf of Red Velvet in a few days.

And treat the crew to so coffee.

At least that way, they might take extra care of Sooyoung.

"Yerin’s ho on holiday. If we call her, she might not co."

"We should still let her know, or she’d be upset if she found out later."

"Alright."

Seulgi nodded, lazily lying on the bed, and dialed Son Seungwan’s number.

At this mont, Seungwan was fully focused, playing PUBG on her computer. Despite being out for a while, the ga still had many players.

She was one dedicated gar.

The vibrating phone montarily distracted her, during which she got sniped from a long distance.

Since it was solo, she had no chance of being revived by teammates.

Having barely made it to the final circle, Seungwan felt devastated.

So she decided to vent her frustration on Seulgi, who had called.

"Hey!"

She shouted into the phone.

Seulgi was clearly startled by the loud response and after a few seconds of silence, she replied grumpily, "Why so loud? My ears are going to burst."

"I was gaming! You got killed!"

"Oh, sorry about that. Want to co over to Juhyun’s for dinner? Soone’s treating."

Seulgi’s half-hearted apology made Seungwan pout, but a free al was not to be missed.

"Sure, co pick up."

Unlike Seulgi, she didn’t have a driver’s license or a local one here.

She always relied on catching rides, either with Juhyun and Seulgi or with the company’s van or manager’s car.

"I’m too lazy to go. Just tell your assistant and let him pick you up."

"You won’t even co get , you’re the worst, Seulgi!"

Curled up in her chair, Seungwan complained, but Seulgi didn’t respond. A mont later, Juhyun’s voice ca through.

"Seungwan, I’ll co get you."

"Woohoo! I’ll change now. Are we staying over tonight?"

"It’s up to you. Stay if you want, no need to return to the dorms if you don’t feel like it."

"Great!"

———

The door clicked open as Liu Xin’an stepped out of the bathroom, after tossing the dirty clothes into the washing machine, curious about the uninvited guests—Juhyun, Seulgi, and... Seungwan.

"Congratulations, I heard from Juhyun that you won a big award this ti," Seulgi smiled at Liu Xin’an. She was quite familiar with him by now.

Similarly, Seungwan greeted Xin’an naturally and curiously explored the living room.

"Liu Xin’an, where’s the trophy?"

"Uh... it’s in my streaming room, in that room."

"Can I see it?"

"Of course."

Shrugging to show he didn’t mind, Xin’an turned his attention to his girlfriend.

Juhyun, naturally the most at ease, headed straight to the sofa, took the best spot, and stretched out her hand to Xin’an.

Xin’an, puzzled, handed over his hand, only for Juhyun to swat it away in annoyance.

"The remote, please."

"Oh... right."

Xin’an held it in. If Seulgi weren’t there, he would’ve pulled this bratty Juhyun into his arms and kissed her fiercely.

Handing her the remote, he earned a sweet smile from her and was about to sit down.

Just as he was about to settle on the sofa, Seungwan dashed out from his streaming room.

"Liu Xin’an, do you have PUBG on your computer?"

Xin’an was stunned, then rose again.

"No, but I can download it. Why, do you play PUBG?"

"Of course! Your setup is amazing; I saw you have a gaming rig."

"Since I stream gaming for a living, I need top-notch equipnt."

"Help download PUBG. I was doing great until Seulgi interrupted and got killed; otherwise, I would’ve won!"

Feeling unjustly blad, Seulgi protested, "Hey, you just weren’t good enough. Don’t bla others for your failures."

"I had level 3 armor, level 3 backpack, and level 2 helt! No way I couldn’t win!"

"I don’t understand your gaming talk, but it’s clearly your fault."

Seeing them bicker without holding back, Xin’an felt a headache coming on and looked to Juhyun for help.

But Juhyun had no intention of intervening.

She was too familiar with this scenario.

"Let them argue, they’re actually very close."

Noticing her boyfriend’s puzzled look, Juhyun tilted her head back and gave a sweet smile.

Xin’an had no choice, so he followed the impatient Seungwan into the streaming room.

Since the operating system was in Chinese, Seungwan wouldn’t dare click around randomly.

Wanting to make her gaming experience more comfortable, Xin’an opted to download the Korean version for her.

His upgraded internet speed, for his streaming needs, allowed for fast downloads.

Within minutes, the familiar PUBG icon appeared on Seungwan’s screen.

Following Xin’an’s instructions, she carefully seated herself, appreciating the comfort of the gaming chair. She grabbed the mouse with one hand and the headphones with the other.

"Wow~ playing gas here must be a treat."

Xin’an nodded. He had set up this gear himself.

"I’m not entirely satisfied with the chair. I’ll probably switch it out for a more comfortable one later."

"Hmm... this one’s already pretty good."

Xin’an chuckled. To Seungwan, the chair felt great because she was much smaller than him.

She could curl up on the chair, but for Xin’an, it was relatively uncomfortable.

At least... it was much worse than the sofa chair he had in mind.

But that could wait.

"I might tweak your mouse settings. Is that okay?"

Seungwan expertly adjusted the mouse’s DPI, her proficiency impressing Xin’an.

"You’re good with computers and gas?"

"Of course! I’m Red Velvet’s top gar!"

Hearing her boast, Xin’an beca more intrigued.

He had played PUBG, but watching a celebrity ga was rare.

Not in a rush to join the others, he stood behind Seungwan, intently watching her play.
