Chapter 4687: Swearing an Oath
Everyone entered, and the great door slowly closed behind them.
For a mont, all showed odd expressions.
"What is this place?"
"Why is my power suppressed?"
"It looks like there are many treasures ahead..."
Among them, only Lin Moyu and Wine Venerable seed truly calm.
Wine Venerable, having seen another realm before, noticed the sa suppression of power as here, making him instinctively think this might be another world.
But then again, it clearly wasn’t the sa, not exactly.
Jin Supre, always cheerful, turned to Lin Moyu, "This is interesting, Lin would you introduce this place?"
Jin Supre, who had lived countless years, had few things left that could pique his interest.
Now in this legendary place, even Jin Supre’s mood brightened.
Lin Moyu answered, "This is the Worldwall, or to be precise, the outer fringe of the Worldwall."
He pointed into the distance, "See those treasures? That’s the inner Worldwall, but you can’t reach it."
Jin Supre asked, "Can’t reach?"
Lin Moyu smiled, "Feel free to try no danger."
Jin Supre nodded and sent a swarm of insects out.
Soon, they collided with an invisible barrier and could advance no farther.
Lin Moyu explained, "There’s an invisible wall here. I can’t open it can only gaze and sigh at the treasures."
He, of course, wasn’t telling the whole truth half real, half false, unclear to anyone else.
The Arctic Supre spoke deeply, "Lin, you don’t know how to open it either?"
Lin Moyu shook his head, "No idea. I was lucky to get a key once enough to open only the outer gate. Feel free to try yourselves maybe you’ll find a thod."
After a mont’s thought, the Arctic Supre and his companions went to try to break the barrier.
Lin Moyu ignored them it was a boundary not even Supres could break; what hope did they have?
Wine Venerable did not try he trusted Lin Moyu’s word. If Lin Moyu had tried and failed, there was no need to try again.
Jin Supre took no action himself, but scattered another army of insects in every direction to probe for a way, all to no avail.
He seed to figure this out, too. "Apart from unreachable treasures, is there anything else here?"
Lin Moyu replied, "Of course, follow ."
Lin Moyu then led Jin Supre to the only intact spatial passage.
The spatial channel rebuilt by Little Tree was still present and in perfect condition.
Jin Supre asked, "Where does this portal lead?"
Lin Moyu said, "To another world or, more precisely, a fragnt of one."
"A fragnt of the world?"
Jin Supre was surprised; as a Supre himself, he actually knew nothing of other worlds.
Lin Moyu explained, "The Ancient Chaos Wilderness is one world, but others exist. This passage leads to one of those other heavens."
"But the other end is very dangerous I nearly died last ti and only survived by sheer luck."
Lin Moyu mixed truth and falsehood the portal did connect to a hazardous world, though his last trip was to another realm, not quite as deadly.
So, blending fact and fiction, he fooled them all.
Jin Supre eyed the portal, tempted, but didn’t go in right away. "Aside from this, are there any other portals?"
Lin Moyu nodded, "Likely many, but all but this one have collapsed for so reason this is the only one that still works."
As they spoke, Jin Supre sent out a batch of spatial insect experts.
After so exploration, Jin Supre confessed, "You’re right, Lin. There truly were many spatial portals here, but all have collapsed likely tens of thousands of years ago or more."
Lin Moyu took the opportunity to ask, "Can you repair them?"
Among the insect race are many odd creatures maybe one could fix spatial passages.
Jin Supre replied, "I’ll try."
He had great interest in these portals; if he could repair them, that would be even more exciting.
He unleashed all sorts of spatial bugs, but the portals had been broken for too long, and even after every attempt, he finally sighed, "No way, too much ti has passed they can’t be repaired."
Lin Moyu had expected this if the portals could be repaired, Little Tree would already have done it.
He didn’t think Jin Supre’s mastery of space surpassed Little Tree’s.
At this ti, the Arctic Supre trio also returned having failed to break the invisible barrier.
They could look upon the fantastic treasures but could not touch them, which felt distinctly uncomfortable.
So of these treasures were of such high order, it seed that obtaining them might enable a major leap in power.
Lin Moyu said, "Last ti, I nearly died inside. Now, with my strength improved, I wish to try again this will also be my last try. What about you?"
The Arctic Supre glanced at the closed door behind them, "If we don’t want to go further, how do we get out?"
Lin Moyu: "Before I explain the exit, I have a request I hope you’ll agree to."
The group frowned none guessed Lin Moyu would make a demand at this mont.
But unless he spoke, they might be trapped they could only comply.
Lin Moyu declared, "You all must swear upon your Dao hearts: If I do not attack you, you and your subordinates may not attack . Break this oath, and your Dao hearts will shatter, your realms fall."
It sounded light, but in reality, was not. If they rely held back, it was like swearing nothing at all.
Yet thinking deeply, tis were dire, and Lin Moyu was the enemy of heaven and earth himself swearing this would an cutting off the path of slaying Lin Moyu for proof.
What seed light was, in truth, a heavy restriction.
The faces of the Arctic Supre and others fell, but Jin Supre didn’t seem to care.
Wine Venerable, silent until now, imdiately swore never to beco Lin Moyu’s enemy.
He’d never planned to attack Lin Moyu anyway, and had no subordinates so the oath ant nothing to him.
With him as the example, Jin Supre laughed, "Lin has helped before, and favors must be returned I swear on my Dao heart as well."
Oaths sworn on the Dao heart were the most reliable.
The Arctic Supre trio finally swore too none wanted to be trapped here forever.
Regret crept into their eyes now they wished they hadn’t co, which Lin Moyu found amusing.
It was their own choice to enter, not anything he forced.
