Chapter 4340: Wang dong World

Within Chaos, countless races existed, each with their own customs and rules. Their habits differed entirely even among humans, ways weren’t uniform.

A simple "greeting" in human tongue might be polite among one people, yet that sa phrase could be an unforgivable insult to another race, enough to incite battle and bloodshed.

There were far too many such intricacies. Even the Purple-Gold Phoenix himself could not explain them all.

The best advice: avoid unnecessary words to strangers. If speaking is required, first understand the customs of their race or else risk provoking them for no reason.

After two long days, the enduring transmission finally ended.

Lin Moyu’s vision steadied, the distorted landscape smoothing out into calm ripples.

Before him stood two cultivators. Their bodies and faces looked identical to humans save for one thing: each bore two pairs of eyes.

Now, all eight eyes turned toward Lin Moyu, gazes filled with curiosity.

"The Four-Eyed Clan..." Lin Moyu murmured inwardly, recognizing them. Among those once sent to hunt him down, there had been Four-Eyed experts.

The Four-Eyed Clan was a known mber of the Central Domain God Alliance. These two were clearly stationed here to guard the transmission array.

Without speaking, Lin Moyu stepped calmly from the transport formation.

Suddenly, a pillar of light fell from the sky, enveloping him.

It lingered for two breaths, scanning, before fading.

The source was a grand array, designed to determine whether arrivals belonged to the Central Domain and to assess their cultivation.

Cultivation could be hidden but under this array, most concealnts were useless. If one ca not of the Central Domain, especially as a Full Completion, the stationed powers of Wang dong World would respond instantly to suppress or slaughter.

Even if lower than Full Completion, a foreigner would be marked, monitored tightly.

Wang dong World itself stood on the eastern border of the Central Domain, a world-forged domain refitted into a defense fortress. Within it were stationed ten Full Completion experts and a thousand Chaos Greater Completion cultivators, under the God Alliance, to stand guard against the Eastern Extre.

For countless ages, wars had erupted between the Central Domain and the Eastern Extre. Death tolls uncountable. The hatred between the two ran deep.

Though temporary truces existed, relations were never peaceful.

Central Domain cultivators often died within the Eastern Extre and the reverse was true as well.

The answer why? Chaos Gold.

Each of the Extres and Domains produced Chaos Gold of different properties. Certain laws and techniques required special essences accessible only from outside. Thus cultivators crossed into foreign lands in search of it.

And not only Chaos Gold rare materials of all kinds, countless.

Therefore, the Supres had decreed a rule: Full Completions could not cross. To trespass would be deed invasion, and they would be slain on sight.

But below Full Completion, free passage was allowed. Life or death was one’s own burden.

Of course, most restrained themselves not openly reckless for none wished to ignite another great war.

Lin Moyu walked away from the teleport array, drawing no attention. He was human from the Central Domain, and only at Chaos Lesser Completion. No cause for alarm.

Here, transmission formations filled entire plazas. Arrivals and departures flowed constantly, with Four-Eyed Clan mbers patrolling diligently to enforce order.

Between different races, almost no greetings were exchanged. Each stepped out silently, and silently departed.

Wang dong World was vast, nearly equal in scale to an unbroken domain. Yet usable space for ordinary cultivators was extrely small most of it restricted under the Alliance’s authority.

What lay buried inside those restricted zones, no one but the top of the God Alliance knew. Even common Alliance mbers rarely understood.

Lin Moyu walked down a broad street.

Footsteps echoed. So stamped heavily upon the ground, others floated in the air. The widest stretch of street extended more than a thousand ters across.

Yet on either side, the buildings were strange: houses without doors, without entrances, no one going in or out.

The people passing by looked varied though most held humanoid form and none spoke. Silence reigned. Gloom pressed like a shroud, broken only by the sound of endless footsteps, which made the air unsettling.

Comparing this place to the Phoenix Clan’s Luo yu World, Lin Moyu found the difference striking. Wang dong World felt oppressive, triggering unease. It was as if invisible hands pressed heavy not only against the flesh but also upon the soul.

Glancing skyward, he saw it at last a massive array spun across the skies, exerting constant suppressive force.

He thought to himself:

"They say Wang dong World was personally refined by a Supre. This array was also laid by him to remind all who enter: here, obedience is absolute. No unwanted deeds tolerated."

Much of this he had gleaned from the Purple-Gold Phoenix’s jade slip confird now by his own eyes.

If he wished to travel into the Eastern Extre, he would need to use the cross-domain arrays. Flying alone would take ages, and the dangers along the journey imasurable.

But those arrays required Alliance mbership. Without joining the Central Domain God Alliance, he could not use them.

Half a day’s wandering took him far from the teleport plaza. He reached at last an open square.

Here, for the first ti, conversations buzzed. Stalls lined its edge, trading goods the oppressive silence finally thin, so liveliness restored.

Lin Moyu looked around. Besides simple raw materials, a few treasures were displayed, though most were damaged artifacts of dubious value.

He wasted no ti browsing, passing through swiftly. His eyes were set upon the floating palace in the distance the headquarters of the Central Domain God Alliance.

Suspended high above, reaching it required special stairways called Divine Ascension Ladders.

There were eight in total, branching like arms of an octopus, connecting ground to palace.

Lin Moyu reached one of the stairways and stepped onto the first step.

At once, his footfall ignited glowing runes, and invisible pressure crashed upon his body.

The pressure scaled itself exactly to what he could bear neither too heavy nor too light.

Lin Moyu’s gaze flicked skyward.

The great array in the heavens that had scanned him upon arrival had already recorded his cultivation level. Thus, the Divine Ladder attuned itself to match his Chaos Lesser Completion.

Each step up, the weight doubled again.

The ladder carried a thousand steps. If he could not endure, he would fall. Fail the climb, fail the right to enter. Fail to enter the Alliance would not even consider one qualified.

Below, many climbed. Many faltered. More than half had not gone a hundred steps. So fell screaming.

Each one who fell drew laughter from those on the ground. The laughter was not cruel, but it was mocking all the sa.

Above, Lin Moyu simply walked forward, calm as stone.
