Chapter 3945: Is the Origin Ancestral Land a Sanctuary?
Lin Moyu had always been waiting for the God of Light to return. Given the God of Light’s vengeful nature, he was sure to co back for revenge. But after hearing Xuanyang Dao Lord’s explanation, Lin Moyu reconsidered. The God of Light had suffered a loss before and would not risk coming for Lin Moyu unless he had a guaranteed escape route and was fully prepared. This ant Lin Moyu had at least a thousand, nearly two thousand years before the God of Light would appear again plenty of ti to accomplish many things.
The sa applied to the Lord of Darkness, who had just fled into the Origin Ancestral Land and wouldn’t erge for another thousand years. A thousand years wasn’t short, and it would be enough for Xuanyang Dao Lord to make so changes; by the ti the Lord of Darkness returned, the balance of power in the Redstone Great Spirit Domain might have shifted.
This thousand year restriction also explained why Lin Moyu hadn’t encountered any Great Dao Lords during his previous visit to the Origin Ancestral Land. He had once thought Great Dao Lords could co and go freely, but now it was clear they avoided entering unless necessary.
The Origin Ancestral Land seed almost like a sanctuary for Great Dao Lords a place to hide in tis of danger.
But why was such a sanctuary necessary? Lin Moyu found it odd. Great Dao Lords were supposed to be nearly invincible. In the Soul Void, only Emperors could suppress them, but Emperors rarely intervened. In the real world, they were second only to eternal beings. What danger could they possibly face? After all, soone like Lin Moyu was a one in a million anomaly.
Unable to figure it out, Lin Moyu decided to ask the straightforward Xuanyang Dao Lord, who seed friendly and open.
He asked, "Xuanyang Dao Friend, I have a question."
Xuanyang Dao Lord replied, "Ask anything, I’ll answer if I can."
Lin Moyu said, "The Origin Ancestral Land feels like a sanctuary for Great Dao Lords, a place to hide in danger. But why would Great Dao Lords need a sanctuary? And why the two thousand year rule for entering and leaving? It’s strange."
Xuanyang Dao Lord froze, suddenly unsure what to say. Lin Moyu noticed his discomfort and added, "If it’s inconvenient, you don’t have to answer."
Xuanyang Dao Lord thought for a mont before replying, "It’s a hard question, and touches on so of the world’s secrets. Let put it this way: you’ve been to the Origin Ancestral Land, right?"
Lin Moyu nodded.
Xuanyang Dao Lord continued, "There are countless Great Daos, and many Great Dao Lords. But did you see any Great Dao Lords in the Origin Ancestral Land?"
He answered his own question, "You probably didn’t."
"Indeed, I didn’t," Lin Moyu agreed.
Xuanyang Dao Lord explained, "That’s because we always have things to do when we’re inside. What exactly, the world’s laws prevent from saying. But I can tell you this: for us ordinary Great Dao Lords, each cycle is ten thousand years, and we must spend five thousand of those years in the Origin Ancestral Land. You can divide that ti as you wish, but each entry ans you can’t leave for a thousand years."
Lin Moyu frowned. "But I’ve seen a Great Dao Lord who’s been asleep for countless years and never seed to enter the Origin Ancestral Land. And there’s an eternal being who’s been dormant and also never entered."
Xuanyang Dao Lord said, "What I’m describing applies to ordinary Great Dao Lords. There are always special cases. The one you ntioned probably severed his connection to his Dao while sleeping, so he didn’t need to enter. But there’s a price if soone else rises up during that ti, he could lose his position as Great Dao Lord. If that happens, there will be a deadly struggle when he awakens."
So, the God of Light, who had been master of the Light Dao for countless years and hoped to use the Physical Dao to achieve eternity, not only failed, but now even his position as Lord of the Light Dao might be at risk. However, new Great Dao Lords are rare, so perhaps no one has replaced him yet.
Xuanyang Dao Lord continued, "As for the eternal being you ntioned, if he’s dormant, he doesn’t need to go to the Origin Ancestral Land. But if he awakens, he must follow the rules."
Lin Moyu pressed, "But why do these rules exist?"
Xuanyang Dao Lord chuckled, "You called the Origin Ancestral Land a sanctuary, but that’s not correct. It’s not a sanctuary. I can’t say more. When you beco a Great Dao Lord yourself, you’ll understand."
He had no doubt Lin Moyu would beco a Great Dao Lord one day after all, Lin Moyu had forced a Great Dao Lord to flee while still just a Dao Lord, regardless of the thods used. That alone proved his potential.
Realizing he wouldn’t get more answers, Lin Moyu changed the subject, and the two discussed other matters.
From Xuanyang Dao Lord, Lin Moyu learned about the human situation in the Redstone Great Spirit Domain. There were actually six human Great Dao Lords in the domain, four of whom were currently in the Origin Ancestral Land, and another in seclusion, leaving Xuanyang in charge. The Alien Alliance had eight Great Dao Lords six in the Origin Ancestral Land, the Lord of Darkness just forced in, and one still outside.
According to Xuanyang, this was a rare mont of advantage for the humans. He planned to awaken the secluded Great Dao Lord so the two of them could improve the human situation, even if only a little.
Lin Moyu, anwhile, had no intention of stopping; he would continue following the karmic threads to clear out the remaining worlds.
After several days of conversation, Xuanyang Dao Lord departed to take action and strengthen the humans.
As the World Burning Fire roared in the void, Lin Moyu pondered Xuanyang’s words.
"A ten thousand year cycle, with Great Dao Lords spending half that ti in the Origin Ancestral Land... There aren’t many Great Dao Lords, but not so few that you’d never et one. So where do they go once inside? If the Origin Ancestral Land isn’t a sanctuary, then what is it?"
