After the casualty report was completed, a funeral was held. All the Containnt Officers who participated in the operation gathered at the Sanctuary’s cetery for a mont of silence in front of the tombstones.

Once nas are inscribed on the tombstone, it becos a part of it. A re touch on the tombstone can reveal the life story of that Containnt Officer.

The Sanctuary always remains hidden in the shadows, safeguarding this perilous world, so no one sings praises of the Containnt Officers’ rits, and these tombstones are their badges of honor.

Every Containnt Officer’s final destination lies in this tombstone area.

Surviving Containnt Officers will receive rewards from the Sanctuary, while the surviving monsters will have better treatnt in the cells, with the best-performing monsters being sent out of the Sanctuary by Wen Wen to serve as assistants to the Containnt Officers.

The families of the sacrificed Containnt Officers will receive support and protection from the Foundation, which is one of the Foundation’s key services.

As for the dead monsters, they are simply dead.

That night, a grand banquet was held within the Sanctuary, with Feng Ruixing spending lavishly on fine wine and food. At the banquet, the Containnt Officers opened their hearts and bragged about their contributions during the war.

Among them, Feng Ruixing was the most flamboyant, going around with a wine glass, boasting about his accomplishnts, as he was indeed one of the few Containnt Officers who shone the brightest in this war.

After achieving ten small goals, Feng Ruixing was dazzling, with even the virtual image of large sums of money floating around him, charging across the battlefield.

Although he couldn’t compare to the True-order Masters, among the Upper Sequence Superpower Users, there weren’t many whose kill count surpassed Feng Ruixing’s.

In fact, Feng Ruixing was usually a low-key person, but he spent so much money this ti just to have sothing to brag about afterward. How could he remain low-key?

Wen Wen also mingled in the banquet, reveling with the Containnt Officers for the entire night, only crawling up from the table the next morning.

After relaxing for a day, Wen Wen set about to tally the spoils of this war.

In terms of finances, the inco was minimal, with only a few materials harvested from the dead monsters.

Additionally, there was a batch of Supernatural Items confiscated from the demons, which Wen Wen hung up for sale at the containnt shop, leaving only the Magical Conch to play with by his side.

The greatest harvest, however, was the capture of a large number of demons, approximately one hundred fifty of various powers, notably higher in quality than the deceased ones.

Among the demons, the ones that caught Wen Wen’s attention were the few with the strongest powers.

The True Order Demons included Brain Demon Brookley and Demoness Ollie. Wen Wen didn’t particularly fancy these two, but destroying them directly would be too wasteful, so they were kept to see if they could be cultivated into enforcers.

The Upper Sequence Monsters included Fallen Angel Croselle, Dual-Sword Andos, and Dragon Knight Varak.

These three monsters all possessed strength close to the Upper Sequence’s limit, and compared to the two True Order Monsters, Wen Wen preferred these three Upper Sequence Monsters.

Croselle had profound expertise in Runes Studies, having personally arranged all the runes in the automobile manufacturing plant.

Andos possessed a high level of swordsmanship, and if not for Wen Wen breaking through with force, he might not have defeated him by swordsmanship alone.

Both these demons had qualities worth learning from, and once Wen Wen extracted their full value, he intended to turn them into tools of the Sanctuary.

As for Dragon Knight Varak, Wen Wen planned to have him research whether other types of Monster Knights could be created; if not, his value would only lie in being an enforcer.

The last demon that caught Wen Wen’s attention was the initially captured Mosquito Lady, who had deep feelings for Brookley. Wen Wen intended to use her as a material for a ritual to create his own clone.

For this reason, Wen Wen even gave up on imdiately tornting Brookley and instead had him cherish his relationship with the Mosquito Lady, with a demand to strengthen their bond in the short term.

After handling all this, a trace of severe intent flashed in Wen Wen’s eyes. Now that the demons were dealt with, a small loose end needed tidying up.

...

Across from the Foundation, the Kowei Group’s building had been taken over by the Hunter Association, and all related personnel were detained.

Zhang Jianda, shackled hand and foot, was continuously undergoing interrogation from the Hunter Association.

He looked pale, as if he had aged ten years overnight.

The questions they kept asking about demons, the Abyss, and similar topics made Zhang Jianda suspect he had wandered onto the set of a fantasy movie.

But the sealed stores of the Kowei Group, along with the ard soldiers nearby, assured him they weren’t joking with him.

Yet he truly didn’t know why all this happened. The only thing he could deduce was that it was all connected to his father, Zhang Kewei.

He had always found it odd why his father suddenly beca younger when, by his health condition, he shouldn’t have lived this long.

Even stranger was Zhang Kewei insisting on conducting a series of operations in Sihu City that defied business logic, which was most likely why the Kowei Group got targeted.

After the attack on the automobile manufacturing plant the other night, the Kowei Group’s assets in Sihu City were entirely seized, and Zhang Jianda was imdiately arrested, only having slept for a few hours since.

Yet, the main culprit Zhang Kewei vanished without a trace, with the Hunter Association unable to even find a shadow of him.

The interrogator rubbed his temples, exhaling a sigh while looking at Zhang Jianda in resignation. After prolonged interrogation and investigation, they could categorically conclude that Zhang Jianda had no connection to Zhang Kewei’s series of operations.

This gave them a sense of relief; Kowei Group was an imnse comrcial empire that needed a leader, or it would cause societal upheaval.

Thus, Zhang Jianda’s ordeal turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Had this incident not erupted, he might never have gained genuine control of the Kowei Group even to his death, but now Zhang Jianda was set to beco the head of Kowei Group, while Zhang Kewei would fade into the annals of history.

...

Downstream of Sihu City, a silent boat docked, and a young man and woman stepped off it.

Moonlight cast onto the boat showed no living soul, just the dried corpses of a man and a woman.

The man was Zhang Kewei, the founder of Kowei Group, and the woman was Wang Qin, a bodyguard sent by the Hunter Association.

They walked swiftly through the forest, eventually arriving outside a small wooden cabin. Wang Qin approached and knocked rhythmically on the door, shortly after which two strangely shaped creatures appeared.

The two had red skin, two sharp horns atop their heads, with wings and tails on their backs, embodying the typical demonic image.
