As a senior researcher at the Foundation, Geng Xingshu is not unfamiliar with Supernatural Power. Hence, it is not unacceptable that Professor Niulan Shan is a superpower user. In fact, even Geng Xingshu himself wishes to beco one.
Typically, senior researchers like Geng Xingshu do not need to attend the general high-level etings of the Foundation. This ti, however, they were specifically requested to participate, indicating that the topics to be discussed are of great significance.
Along the way, Geng Xingshu encountered a bald man with a barcode on his head and went over to strike up a conversation.
This bald man is Wuma, the head of the Foundation’s ard departnt. It is said that he was once an assassin with the code na ’Code.’ He later left that line of work and changed his na to Wuma, symbolizing his farewell to the assassin’s path.
It was Wuma who, at a critical mont, rushed into Geng Xingshu’s workshop and killed that terrifying worm, saving Geng Xingshu.
The ard departnt led by Wuma is a direct ard force of the Foundation. They often appear in Qianhe City and the surrounding cities, targeting and hunting monsters to protect people from their assaults.
Geng Xingshu occasionally gets so precious materials from Wuma to tinker with special props.
Their conversation was brief because the eting was about to start. On the way, they encountered a cool guy with bright eyes.
This cool guy exuded a ’stranger, keep out’ aura, and rely seeing him evoked a peculiar pressure.
Geng Xingshu knew of this man; he is Heng An, the leader of the special tactics team. Heng An rarely communicates with other departnts, giving him an air of mystery.
It is said that each mber of Heng An’s special tactics team is a superpower user. Their main task is also monster hunting, but the monsters they face are on a completely different Level than those dealt with by the ard departnt!
This elevated Geng Xingshu’s attention to this eting another notch.
It’s worth noting that Heng An’s range of activities covers the entire Southern Xiangnan Province. Occasionally, he goes out of the province for tasks, making it almost impossible to appear at the Foundation headquarters.
After entering the venue, Geng Xingshu found his seat next to a colleague. Looking around, he discovered that all those considered the core of the Foundation were present in the eting room.
Not just the core layer, even the headquarters’ security captain and the supervisor of the cleaning staff were in the eting room.
At the front of the eting room were seated the Foundation’s president Feng Ruixing, the head of the ard departnt Code, the leader of the special tactics team Heng An, the head of the headquarters research departnt Niulan Shan, and the head of the headquarters financial departnt Zhao Hongmin...
Besides these upper echelon figures familiar to Geng Xingshu, there was soone he had never seen before.
This person was wearing a large black robe with a hood, with red floating Runes obscuring their face, full of Mystery. His presence clashed with the atmosphere of the venue.
Once everyone had arrived, staff mbers distributed exquisite boxes to each of the high-level mbers. Inside the boxes was a mirror with a golden fra.
"Everyone has worked at the Foundation for so ti, and this is a small token of my personal appreciation," said Feng Ruixing.
"Then I’ll get straight to the point. The only reason for gathering everyone here is to ask each of you to briefly introduce your recent work situation."
"A brief introduction is sufficient. The sooner you finish, the sooner we wrap up. I’m not planning on having you stay for dinner, so feel free to choose what you can share and omit any confidential details."
As soon as Feng Ruixing is done speaking, the venue becos noisy.
Geng Xingshu is also sowhat perplexed. What’s going on here?
Calling everyone here for this; why does this annual most important eting feel like the self-introduction during the start of a university term?
Could it be... the request of that mysterious Man in Black Robe?
Feng Ruixing gestured downward with his hand, and the venue turned quiet.
"With so many people present, let’s get started quickly. Begin with the first person in the first row on the left."
Thus, this sowhat absurd eting has begun.
Initially, everyone was a bit tense, but as the first few people successfully shared their work situations, the atmosphere started to warm up.
Since lengthy speeches were discouraged and confidential content was off-limits, people could only chat casually. Feng Ruixing didn’t stop the codic interjections from those around, which led to an even stranger atmosphere in the venue.
When it was Geng Xingshu’s turn, he spoke about his recent ideas.
Recently, he wanted to research a type of exoskeleton glove that could enhance human grip strength, allowing the user to crush rocks once activated.
Initially, Geng Xingshu wanted to create a full-coverage exoskeleton armor, but he realized that was sowhat impractical, so he planned to start with the gripping assist device...
Once everyone had finished their turn, Feng Ruixing announced the eting adjourned and let everyone leave first.
Geng Xingshu scratched his head, holding his handbag, utterly bewildered as he left the venue.
He was also sowhat resentful, as this affair had delayed his own matters. Isn’t this just like a joke?
After they departed, the real high-level eting was about to begin.
Among those remaining, aside from Zhao Hongmin, the head of the operations departnt, everyone else was Containnt Officer from the Sanctuary. Zhao Hongmin had already signed a labor contract with the Sanctuary through Feng Ruixing’s introduction.
Thus Wen Wen didn’t need to hide anything from them and shared his plan.
Now the storyline mode frawork of the Mirror Labyrinth is roughly completed, requiring only further testing and andnts before it can be formally launched.
The reason for asking those people to share their recent work situations was rely for Wen Wen to beco familiar with them; the principal goal was to distribute those golden mirrors.
All those mirrors had been modified by Jidro. When the plan comnces, Jidro can effortlessly pull those holding the mirrors into Mirror Space.
Even if these people beco cautious and don’t keep the mirror by their side, they will have been marked by the ti they contact the mirror.
Jidro can still draw them into Mirror Space when they touch other mirrors, albeit at a slightly higher cost.
Upon entering Mirror Space, these individuals will undergo assessnts of the storyline mode, allowing an easy distinction of who is trustworthy and who isn’t.
Once all the tests are completed, Feng Ruixing will oust those who fail the test from the Foundation. Those who pass the test will sign a labor contract similar to Zhao Hongmin.
In this way, the Sanctuary would be truly bound to the Foundation, allowing the Foundation to serve the Sanctuary more efficiently.
